Watching Nostalgia Critic's recent review of The Land Before Time gave me the urge to design some OCs, so I whipped these guys up! These two are Loni the Long Claw (Therizinosaurus) and Tyke the Three Horn (Triceratops). After sketching this I realized that I might've made Loni too short since Therizinosaurus was estimated to be around 15 feet tall, so maybe she's just short for her species or something, I dunno.

Loni is an experienced mother, having raised several chicks to adulthood over the years. She had just bid farewell to her latest batch of fully grown offspring by the time the drought happened and chose not to find another breeding partner and bring more chicks into the world during such an uncertain time. Plus, Loni was getting up in years and felt that she was getting too old to be a mother again. Or so she thought.

While trying to find her way to the Great Valley, Loni ends up rescuing a lost Three Horn calf named Tyke who was being chased by a pack of Fast Biters (Velociraptors), one of which managed to bite him on the frill which resulted in him getting a scar. Tyke had been separated from his herd (not the same herd that Cera and her family came from, though they were just as strict about the species segregation) during the earthquake and the fates of his parents were unknown, so he opts to stay with Loni for protection from predators. Since he clearly had no one else, Loni allows him to tag along and the two of them end up forming a strong bond during their journey. Loni and Tyke eventually make it to the Great Valley where they live happily together as mother and son.

Also fun fact: I based Tyke's design off of this Jurassic Park Triceratops toy that I had growing up.

Got the urge to draw something Millionaire Dogs-related again and I felt like drawing Velvet. She's mentioned as being a teenager in the movie, so I decided to draw what I think she'd look like as a fully grown adult, probably about a year after the events of the film.

Wanted to draw something for Easter this year, so I decided to draw some dogs from an obscure animated Christian movie. These two are Jericho and Maya from the movie At Jesus' Side. It's about a stray dog who originally hates humans after what they did to his family but learns not to hate them after meeting and befriending Jesus before his crucifixion. It's a cute movie with a good message about love and forgiveness. Happy Easter!

CONTENT WARNING: BODY HORROR.

So, I decided to hop onto the MLP Infection AU bandwagon because I really like some of the fanart that's come out of it and I wanted to make my own little contribution. This was heavily inspired by the DA user AngstyRam's version as I felt like doing my own spin on the idea. This particular infection has been dubbed "Timberbeast Disease" after the beast-like form that comes from Stage 3 as well as the belief that the infection originally came from timberwolves. It's kind of a combination of timberwolves and the Swamp Fever from Season 7.

Stage 1: Bitten

The host is bitten and infected, with a bite wound being an indication of infection.

Symptoms includes fear, paranoia and pain from the affected area.

This stage can last anywhere from a few hours to 2-3 days.

If caught early enough, the host could potentially be saved if the affected area is amputated

Stage 2: Sprouting

Infection begins spreading through the rest of the body.

Mane begins falling out. The host may also start coughing up leaves.

Leaves and small twigs begin sprouting out of various parts of the body, mainly in the area where the host was originally bitten. Breaking them off will only make the infection progress faster.

Wings/horns typically remain intact at this stage. Can still fly/use magic as normal.

Eyes become bloodshot and take on a greenish glow similar to that of timberwolves.

Other symptoms include migranes, weight loss, fever, chills and memory loss.

Can no longer be saved.

Stage 3: Timberbeast

The most dangerous stage. Host now bears little resemblance to the pony they once were and is much more aggressive and vicious. 

Has completely lost all memory and their only instinct now is to hunt down prey. Will attack and eat other ponies.

Most of the host's skin has fallen off to reveal a wooden, tree-like body underneath. Twigs and branches continue to sprout from various parts of the body.

Root-like claws develop from what was once the host's hooves.

Can no longer fly/use magic.

Drool is actually tree sap and has been confirmed to pass the infection if contact is made.

KILL ON SIGHT. There is no hope of saving them.

Stage 4: Rooted

The host's claws have developed into roots that keep them anchored to the ground.

Hair and skin are completely gone.

More leaves and branches sprout from the body as they gradually transform into a tree.

Much less dangerous than Stage 3 as the host is now immobile, but can still potentially bite if one gets too close. Best to be avoided while they can still bite.

Stage 5: Tree

The final stage. Host has completely transformed into a tree and is no longer dangerous.

The host's cutie mark will typically appear as a pattern in the tree's bark.

Some of these trees have been known to bear fruit. Eating these fruits are not advised as the effects from consuming them are currently unknown.

Since these trees are being studied to potentially find a cure for Timberbeast Disease, cutting them down is strictly prohibited. Any creature caught attempting to cut them down will face criminal prosecution.

CW: Brief mention of animal neglect

Decided to create an OC who appears in what I've decided to call the "Sniper Returns Arc" in my Ginga AU.

Marnie is a Border Collie who was originally born to a dog owned by a very neglectful backyard breeder. All of her littermates were eventually sold off until it was just her and her mother, as the owner decided to keep Marnie to breed more puppies in the future since her mother wasn't doing very well health-wise. Marnie's mother eventually passes away due to malnutrition, but before her death she tells her daughter to find a way to escape if she ever gets the chance. While the owner was opening the cage to put in food one day, Marnie bites him on the hand and, while he's distracted from the pain, jumps out of her cage and leaps the fence to get out of the backyard, finally experiencing freedom for the first time ever.

Not wanting others to suffer the same fate as her mother, Marnie makes it her mission in life to find dogs experiencing neglect or mistreatment and give them a chance to live free. She eventually builds up a very sizeable pack of which she's the leader, but things change one day when another pack lead by a scarred Doberman named Sniper takes them over. He wanted to build up numbers in his own pack to get revenge on another dog named Gin, and he threatened to kill the packs puppies and pregnant females if they didn't comply. Not wanting any harm to fall upon them, Marnie reluctantly agrees and does whatever Sniper tells her. It isn't until her encounter with Weed and his friends when Marnie and her fellow pack mates find the courage to fight back Sniper and his crazed mate, Lucy. After getting the pack's most vulnerable members to safety, Marnie and Weed both fight back against Sniper and his supporters which results in her, Weed, Sniper and Lucy being knocked into a raging river. While she and Weed both survived and were rescued by a human, Sniper and Lucy were both washed further downstream and drowned.

After Sniper's death, Marnie and her pack mates end up following Weed back to Ohu. She later becomes mates with Kyōshirō and they have two sons.

(Just realized that I forgot to post this here, whoops)

Since I recently shared my redesign of Weed's mate Koyuki, it only made sense to draw my interpretation of his children for my Ginga AU next. I decided to borrow a friend's idea of replacing the dummy dumb-dumb Sirius with two OC children for no reason other than because I could. Betelgeuse is the most timid out of the bunch and wishes to be more brave like his dad and older brother Orion. Mintaka, despite being the youngest, is the most mature and is the one who looks out for all her other siblings. Bellatrix has her sassy persona from The First Wars while Orion and Rigel are pretty much the same as their canon counterparts personality-wise.

As for their designs: I tried making Orion look as close to canon as possible while also making his fur color look close to his mother's. Betelgeuse is basically the spitting image of his late grandma Sakura and I decided to make Rigel resemble a black and tan Kishu. Bellatrix having the tora-ge stripes is based off of the fact that she was actually drawn with brindle fur when she first appeared at the end of GDW while I made Mintaka's fur colors by blending my Koyuki redesign with Riki's.

Some more Ginga fanart, this time with a random ship that I thought up for my AU: Sniper x Lucy.

I'm sure a lot of people who watched the GNG anime know who Sniper is, but for those who don't know who Lucy is, she's the widowed mate of Terry who only appeared in the GDW manga and was actually the reason why Weed's mother Sakura left Ohu. In that version, Lucy lies to Sakura and tells her that Gin was seriously injured in a landslide in some faraway mountains and guides her to a truck that takes her far away from Ohu. When Smith returns from patrol to find Sakura gone, Lucy breaks down and admits her jealousy of Sakura and then promises to tell Smith what she had done to her if he would kill her afterwards, and then she's never seen again. Of course, she doesn't appear in the anime adaptation as in that version Sakura had to be evacuated due to the monster dog Kaibutsu running amok. I was always kinda bummed that Sniper didn't reappear in the GDW anime as I always liked his design, but hey, that's what AUs are for.

So in my GDW AU (which largely follows the canon of the anime), Sniper and Lucy both appear in an arc that replaces the Hybrid Bear Arc. Just like in the GDW manga, Sniper survives his fall and gets rescued by a woman who healed his wounds and gave him artificial back legs, and then kills her and escapes back into the wild once he completely regained his strength. But instead of meeting Hougen, he ends up meeting Lucy, who in the AU was banished from Ohu when she tried to attack Gin and Sakura out of jealousy after Sakura announced that she was pregnant. Since they both clearly had a score to settle with the Ohu army, Sniper and Lucy join forces and take over another dog pack together and force them to work for them. Similar to what happens with the Third Hybrid in canon, Sniper and Lucy are both defeated when Weed knocks them into a river and they both drown.

Background is a screenshot from the GDW anime because I'm lazy like that.

Some more Ginga redesigns, this time with Cross and Ben's children. Yoshihiro Takahashi pulled a Lady And The Tramp and just made them carbon copies of their parents despite them being completely different dog breeds (a Saluki and a Great Dane), so I of course had to fix that by making them look like actual mixed breed dogs. I made Ken's ears and tail look more fluffy and also made his ears uncropped (seriously, why would he even have cropped ears if he's a wild dog), shortened George's ears and made his muzzle more similar to his dad's and I decided to make Minnie look more like an even blend of her parent's traits. I'm pretty satisfied with how these turned out.

Also fun fact: I used the official studio sheets for Ben and Cross as reference for when I sketched these guys.

Since I'm still in the mood to draw some Ginga-related content, I thought it would be fun to do some character redesigns. I figured that a good character to start with was Weed's mate Koyuki from the Ginga Densetsu Weed Manga, mainly because I kinda have issues with her canon design that I'll explain below.

For those who don't know, Weed basically becomes attracted to Koyuki because she looks like his late mother Sakura and they even meet each other the same way Gin had met her (caught in a snare trap). In fact, there's even one part in the manga where Gin tells Koyuki that she looks just like Sakura and that Weed's chasing after an image of his late mother. So yeah, Weed basically has some weird Oedipus complex. I get that losing your mom at a young age would really mess a kid up, but still.

Anyway, I decided give Koyuki a redesign for my own little Ginga AU that I have yet to write out. Kishus can actually come in a couple different coat colors besides white, and after looking at images on Google, I decided to make her a red Kishu because I thought that the orange would be a nice contrast against Weed's silvery blue. Feel free to tell me what you think. ^^

Randomly got the urge to draw something Ginga-related and I decided to draw Gin's two littermate brothers as they appeared in the anime (referenced from this screenshot). They don't have official names but are often referred to as "Giyan" and "Hiyan" by fans after the whimpering sounds they made in the manga when Gohei hits them with his cane. I decided to give them my own headcanon names because why not.
