Ok woah hey - I just wanted to thank you so much for your Godlight fic. First of all- wonderful fic so far, Sundays are my favorite day as of now. Second: Godlight was my first intro to F1 and I genuinely can’t thank you enough for that. I have found such a sudden strong love for the sport and at the end of the day that’s because of you :D I really think that this has changed my life for the better and I can’t wait to look back on this in a few years and see how far I’ve come. -anyways don’t feel pressured to reply but thanks a bunch :)

We're super excited to announce The Tortured Poets Fest, a Harry Potter themed fest centered around Taylor Swift's newest album! ✨

Calling all writers, artists, and video editors! Below are important dates, rules, and information you'll need to know if you'd like to join in with us. This fest is focused on The Tortured Poets Department — Taylor Swift's newest full-length album released on April 19, 2024.

This fest is open to ALL Harry Potter generations including Marauders, Golden Era, and Next Gen. All pairings are welcome!

We've also created a little community of participants on Discord to help with round tabling and creativity. We'd love if you joined us! This is an 18+ only fest.

🌙 Sign-Ups & Claiming

You must complete the Google Form for your sign-up as well as claim your choice of prompt on the AO3 collection.

You may only claim one prompt at a time. If you finish your prompt, you may claim an additional prompt, but you must submit your first prompt as per submission guidelines.

One song prompt can be claimed by multiple people (it's not first come, first serve). You can use a song in any way you like for inspiration — title, lyrics, vibes… You do not need to title your work after the song or use lyrics in any way if you don’t want to.

Collaborations are welcome! Collabs can be illustrated fics, multi-writer fics, multi-artist artworks, etc.

✨ Creating

All ships from all generations are welcome (Marauders, Golden Era, and Next Gen). This is not a ship-specific or generation-specific fest.

There is a minimum word count of 1,000 words for all submitted fics. For podfics, the recorded story should be a minimum of 1,000 words. There is no maximum for either fics or podfics.

Multi-chapter fics are allowed, but you must finish the first chapter of the fic by the submission deadline.

All works must be tagged appropriately! In light of the mental health topics alive and real in this album, please consider yourself, your fellow participants, and your readers when discussing any themes on mental health in your works.

We’re thrilled to announce our 2024/25 James/Regulus Big Bang! ☀️✨

For those who may be unfamiliar, a ‘Big Bang’ fest brings fanfic writers and fan artists together in a collaborative space to create illustrated fanfiction for a particular pairing. Over the course of several months, writers will write fanfiction centered on ‘Jegulus’ (James Potter x Regulus Black). Artists will then ‘claim’ those fics and create art for them!

Community is the backbone of fandom and we’re so excited to create a collaborative space for authors and artists to work together to contribute fan works to a ship that means so much to us. As we get closer to the fest, we’ll be sending out invitations to our Discord server so all of us can mingle and bond over our shared love of this ship!

Authors are expected to submit one fanfic that is at least 20k words long (and no longer than 200k words). Since this is a J/R Big Bang, Jegulus must be the primary focus/ship. Secondary or background ships are permitted but must not be the focus of the fic. Authors are allowed to collaborate on a fic, but may only submit one fic (that means that if you co-write, you may not also submit an individual fic). Because of the timeline and word count expectations of the Big Bang fics we require all authors to have at least one existing published fic of 20k words. 

Artists are expected to submit at least two pieces of work per fic, including a banner and a piece of artwork. Artists may submit additional pieces of art for the fic they claim but are not required to! Artists will be allowed to select one fic to illustrate during initial sign ups. Artists may be allowed to select additional fics if some remain unclaimed!

Betas are welcome to join the fest! Authors are strongly encouraged (but not required) to use a Beta. Authors may bring their own Beta into the fest (we simply ask that they sign up as any other Beta might), or, if they do not have a Beta and would like one, the mods will pair an Author and a Beta for the fest. 

Rules and further information will be released soon. We wanted to introduce our fest to you now to give you all ample time to plan your fics since this is an open-prompt fest (meaning you decide on the plot so long as it is James Potter x Regulus Black-centric), and to shuffle your schedules/WIP plans around if needed.

Hi lovely people! 

Soon we’ll be publishing some additional information about our J/R Big Bang (including author expectations, artist expectations, and a full schedule). We just wanted to pop in here and say a few things before we do.

We know there’s another Jegulus Big Bang in the works – the fact that we’ve been blessed with two Jegulus-themed fests of the same caliber at the same time is such a happy coincidence! As many of you may know, we’ve been working on this project since early March with the intention to announce our fest in mid-April, giving participants plenty of time to come up with plots and potentially shuffle their schedules around if necessary.  

Since our fest has a planned timeframe of September – May (from sign-ups to the start of posting), it looks like there’s going to be very little overlap between these two fests, so we’d love to see all you Jegulus writers and artists participating in one or both if your schedules allow! If not, we hope you will support all of the participants in the fests by reading, commenting, and promoting their hard work.

That being said, we do not condone nor do we tolerate any Jegulus-related hate, ship-bashing (I.e., Jegulus vs. Jily), hate or bullying directed at our fest or any other Jegulus fest, any of the mods, or its participants. We are focused on cultivating a positive, inclusive and supportive atmosphere for all Jegulus creators. 

At the end of the day, we’re all here because of our love for these characters, and we’re thrilled at the prospect of more Jegulus content coming into the world. We can’t wait to release more info in the coming days, promote Jegulus works, and welcome you all to our fest!

“Mhm, do you really think so?” James lifts a suggestive eyebrow while he turns to lean against the bar in a similar position as Regulus. “I think they will rip each other’s clothes off.” 

“Obviously,” Regulus scowls, “but he is my brother,” Regulus nods his head in Sirius’ direction before nodding to Remus next, “and he is my best friend, so I don’t want to think about that worst-case scenario.”

“Or best case,” James muses with a smile. Regulus frowns at him in disgust and James just laughs a little too loud, people turning their heads at the sound. “There’s nothing wrong with good passionate sex, Regulus, especially when it’s born from hate.”

Each contributor can donate more than once, but they’ll only be allowed to submit a maximum of five prompts, no matter their donation size.

NSFW prompts can only be submitted by 18+ contributors and will be assigned to 18+ volunteers only.

Prompts need to be worded clearly in less than 100 words to avoid confusion, and they can’t include more than four Marauders era characters. Contributors can specify if they prefer a fic or a drawing, but the final product will depend on availability and may change. Prompts will be assigned randomly.

The prompts may not contain: political affiliations or discourse, religious material, gore, explicit violence, incest, or non-con. Dead dove prompts are not allowed and hateful or politically inclined prompts will be automatically deleted.
