Caught this lazy bum eating while lying down. We’re off to the vet for her follow-up on her bacterial bum infection and hopefully her first kitty vaccine.
Romy doesn’t know what to think of the squiggly squeaky fluffy potato.
Wonton is complaining he’s not the darling baby boy of the fam anymore. Remember he was the runt of the og dimsum kitty litter, who got one on one time at the milk bar with mama Bo Bean. He still thinks he is baby.

We got a new neighbor and they have cats! This little cheeto boy has been regularly making his way onto our porch. He’s not neutered though. 😕 Hopefully I can bring it up to the neighbor and they’re receptive. They also have an unspayed calico. A brown tabby boy like Wessie. And kittens!
So far our own cats have been quite calm when they see him. Tomi surprisingly has not chosen violence. Yet. He doesn’t even make a single peep. He loves sniffing around after the orange cat has left though. Romy growls but he’s happy to stay put as long as he’s not approached too closely. Wesley stands by like he’s thinking if he doesn’t move then he won’t be seen. And Barley hides amongst the plants. JJ has chosen avoidance as his tactic, so he hasn’t been coming around as regularly.
The only exception is Wonton. Who starts screaming in outrage at first sight. He also does that anytime he sees Tomi, Romeo, or JJ. The only other male cat he will tolerate is Barley. But once Barley did bump into him quite harshly even though he meant it lovingly. But Wonton stumbled and he gave Barley a slap. Good thing I got Wonton’s nails trimmed. And luckily he’s not wanting to go outside anymore so he can avoid direct contact with the cheeto.
The orange puffball yowls a lot and I’ve seen him drinking from our water bowl. I’m happy to have visitors. I just don’t want his mating behaviours to become worse or aggressive.
It would also be nice not having my sleep be disturbed by the neighbor calling out for her cats. 🙃 I’ve not been sleeping properly and it’s giving me heart problems. 😞 I just need to recover from Shrimp’s every four/five-hour feeding schedule. Gotta sleep early, eat fruits and veggies, and pet lots of cats.

She moved into her new crate while we try and get rid of this fungal infection. Hopefully there aren’t too many more medicated baths left for us to do.

Shrimp has been with us for 4 weeks now! 🥳 She’s not quite 1kg yet. So close to being able to start her series of kitty vaccines. She has gotten so big and loooong! She’s entering her lanky teenage phase. 🥺 Who allowed her to grow up so fast?! 😭
All her poops have been healthy looking. Yay! 🎉 She got her third dose of regular deworming today. She was so good! Didn’t fuss at all. Took the dewormer like it was water.
She’s eating a mix of wet and dry food right now. Like all together in one bowl. I wanna work on getting her to eat dry food by itself, but still have the wet food a couple times a day.
She needs a few more medicated baths and then we’ll see at the next vet check if she’s fungi-free. So I still haven’t allowed her direct contact with the others. She can see them tho. And they can see her. Barley is the one who pays the most attention to her. But he goes back and forth from scurrying away to flopping on his side and wanting to play with her. All the others stare, hiss, then flee. 😅

Wonton woke up everyone from their afternoon nap way too early at 5:30pm. Thirty minutes early for dinner. He started yowling and ran all over messing up the sheets. And then he started pacing by the stairs wanting everyone to hurry up already. But Siomai didn’t want to get up at all.
And then suddenly Wonton jumped back onto the bed and flopped over. What a confusing boy! He can’t make up his mind. So… 30 mins more for naptime? 🙂

Oh no! 😱 Shrimp almost broke out of containment. I patched it up with tape for now. She will have to move to a larger crate soon. 😰
She lost weight the other day. But she gained it back yesterday. She needs four pouches of wet food per day now to keep growing. But she’s able to eat only about half a pouch per meal. And eight meals a day just isn’t feasible since she takes about four hours between meals to get hungry again. Her weight progress is stalling.
She really needs to get on with the kibbles since it’s more calorie-dense. She’s not a fan yet though. We gotta do a slow transition. She eats around the kibbles if it’s just topped on. And if it’s mixed in then she won’t eat much at all. 😐 I did see her chewing through some of the kibble though.
Even with the weight loss and the dislike of the new food, she’s still somehow doubling her daily dumps. 😦 More healthy looking poops now but she still has the occasional bout of diarrhea. She’s learning to bury her mess, but she always does it with only one paw in the litter tray and the rest of her body is outside. 😅 Gotta keep those peets clean!
She does so well during medicine time! 😊 She doesn’t try to run at all. And I think she’s getting used to it now because her mouth doesn’t froth up as much. She seems to really enjoy getting all cleaned up after with a gentle baby wipe.

I was so excited to introduce Shrimp to some kibbles! I thought putting them right on top would make her notice them. But she just ate around them. 😩
