MUSE NOTICED MY CAVE DOLL AAAAAAAAAA

I've been wanting to do this for a while, but I finally made a mini amigurumi version of the girl from the Cave single!
Did this on and off for the last three days or so. She's pretty tiny, and the proportions took ages to figure out. And yes, her hat is removable!
Just for fun, here's a side-by-side comparison with my crochet Matt.

I'm still itching to get more blind box BJDs, but for now I had the silly idea to crochet itty bitty underpants (since mine came out of the box commando).
Freehanded my first pair for the Teennar doll using some green ombré cotton in my stash. I kind of like how they turned out, but the crochet panties added a smidge too much bulk under her skirts. So I'll probably skip making a pair for the Penny's Box doll given how snug her outfit is.
I'm still making new clothes and accessories for my crochet Free Spirit, but maybe later I'll attempt making clothes for my other dolls too.

So I finally took the leap and hopped on the blind box BJD bandwagon!
These are my first ever ball-jointed dolls: I got one each from the Teennar High School Student's Club and Penny's Box School of Fancies School Haunting series.
I love the detail on their school uniforms, though the flocked ears and tail on the Penny's Box girl scare me a little. Dressing them was fun, if a bit fiddly. I can sort of make them stand on their own, though I have to pose them just so.
A size comparison with LOL Surprise Tweens, Barbie Extra Minis and Extra Extra Minis.
And just for fun, a little family picture with their new big sister Twyla.
Yeah... I love them. It's scary how addictive they are.

I broke down and got my first LOL OMG dolls: Skatepark QT and Chloe Pepper from the Tweens line!
Call me crazy, but if I squint a little they look like they could be related.

The pain of falling in love with a doll line right after it's been cancelled ...
The Barbie Extra Minis may be a bit overpriced relative to how barebones they are, but I still really liked them. A pity we may not see any more.
The Extra Mini Minis have really primitive articulation, just a step below Chelsea dolls. But I'll always be a sucker for fun tiny dolls.
I was pleasantly surprised by how fun these are to play with! Between these two, the one with the light brown hair might be my favorite.
(I underestimated how reflective the gold shades were)
I would've liked to find the other Extra Minis, unfortunately they're either overpriced or nonexistent in my country.

(Generation Girl Barbie) Dance Party Lara
Been taking some childhood toys out of storage, and I dug out my old Generation Girl Lara doll!
My sister and I had several other dolls from this line (Barbie, Tori and Mari) but unfortunately Lara was the only one I managed to hold on to over the years.
I need to figure out how to fix the bangs eventually. A bit annoyed her choker and hair beads are sewn on.
Standard snap knees. Managed to hold on to Lara's original bangles, though the elastic on the bead bracelet is old and worn out. (Also, the skirt print is really pretty.)
Lara's stand and accessories. I lost the original paint pot and rubber band that came with the sketchbook.
My favorite pieces are probably the little candles and trinket box.
The little magazine that came with the Dance Party dolls. Would've liked taking photos of the pages, but the glue binding is starting to give.
Bonus: the Barbie chocolate tin I kept the accessories in for years.

Well, it finally happened: I turned over to the dark side and bought (and promptly fell in love with) my very first Monster High doll. Twyla is officially my soulmate now.
Even now, my new babygirl is judging my life choices.
(this was the best I could do photographing her glow-in-the-dark eyes)

Status update on the Free Spirit doll: managed to make enough clothing pieces for at least two outfits.
Still need to make a second pair of pants and some added accessories. Once I have the basics covered, I can get crazy with the looks.

Been looking at a lot of fashion dolls online lately. To resist the urge to spend more money, I opted to just crochet my own (attempt at a) fashion doll instead!
Used Beth Ann Webber's Free Spirit pattern as a starting point, though I changed the size of the head and used her tutorial for neck articulation. Still working out the hair and clothes.

I've been using Papemelroti's pocket monthly planners since 2017, and they recently put out a slightly new design I'm trying out for this year.
The new undated planners have slightly larger daily spaces, which means more room for impromptu junk journaling.

Just finished my last journal and started on a new one! This one's a bit intimidating due to the larger pages, but I'm still excited to break it in.

Found my accidental collection of clothing tags from shirts, shoes, bags and other things bought over the years. Might reuse these for crafting and junk journaling.

Started this new journal (got it from Miniso a few years ago) back in late November. Will be carrying it over to the New Year.

This has been a rough year for my journaling thus far. Been mostly using smaller pocket notebooks so they're less stressful to fill.
