Her back is turned to him, the dark waves of her hair swept up into an elegant bun with (really, she does this on purpose) a deep blue velvet ribbon. She is picturesque- not a thing out of place, and as a man who's been at sea for the last three weeks he'll admit the predominant desire in him is to change that. He walks across the room to her, Zoya turning at the sound of his footfalls. "No apologies?"

He drops to the floor on one knee, taking her hand and pressing it to his lips with a stupid amount of theatrical display. "I am sorry, Your Highness.

"Stand," she says dismissively. "Not what I meant."

"And what might it be that you meant, my dear?" Nikolai asks as he rises.

She smiles, or there is the hint of a smile on her face-- and then she kisses him. They do not make him forget his name, these kisses of hers-- it is more that he remembers himself for the first time, that when he is holding her he is the truest version of himself he has ever known. "I meant," she murmurs against his jaw. "Show me."

He does, of course, with pleasure-- and he make sure that saints forsaken ribbon is the first thing to hit the floor.

yeah babe i’m fine i’m so fine. i’m just thinking about noah czerny. thinking about how blue thought it was the worst thing to watch him reenact his death because his body would jerk like a ragdoll. i’m thinking about how much he loved gansey and adam and ronan to appear to them and love them. i’m thinking about how he admired gansey and he made ronan smile and he always watched out for adam and he was at blue’s side. i’m thinking about how noah protected them endlessly and they were fiercely protective of him, too. i’m thinking about how ronan wrote “REMEMBERED” on that glass because noah was so much more than his murder and they all knew it. i’m thinking about how noah starts off as a major character but he slowly fades into the background of the plot until suddenly he is nothing at all. i’m thinking about how noah slowly slipped from time. i’m thinking about how despite being murdered by a raven boy noah found his raven boys and he loved them so much. i’m thinking about him kissing blue and giving both of them a chance. i’m thinking about how he could’ve let his death change him and he could have been awful and he could have sabotaged them every step of the way but instead he fought so fucking hard to keep his friends safe. even when he couldn’t control his mind or his body he loved them so much. he was so ashamed when he hurt blue. he didn’t even want to look at her. i’m thinking about how it at the end of everything it was never about glendower. it was always about noah, with a bright mind and an even brighter smile and car with weeds growing through it. it was always about noah saving gansey and blue and ronan and adam. it was always about noah giving them a chance to live, because he never could.

Okay sorry to bother you YET AGAIN, but this is my new fixation right now. Thank you for humoring me.

I have another question for you about Foul Lady Fortune. Have you read As You Like It? I have, and I swear it makes it all a hundred times better. There's so many beautifully subtle things between the two. My favorite would have to be the fact that Rosalind in As You Like It disguises herself as a man named Ganymede. JANIE MEAD. Chloe Gong is so clever. Then there's smaller stuff like the fact that aON All the characters obviously are the same/their relationships. If you have read it, what do you think of the similarities? I also saw someone say somewhere that they knew Phoebe was Priest because it was in "the source material." I've been trying to figure out what they meant ever since.

ON A SLIGHTLY RANDOM NOTE, in As You Like It, the shepherdess, Phoebe, thinks she's in love with Ganymede. Imagine how funny/problematic it would be if Phoebe thought she liked Rosalind.... I doubt it will happen, but it just keeps popping into my head.

Also, I feel like Oliver has to be redeemed in someway and actually end up with Celia despite the fact that he's super suspicious (I spent half of FLF thinking he was Priest) because it's what happens in As You Like It. Same goes for Phoebe and Silas even though Silvius and Phoebe was definitely not really a (two sided) romance in the play.

Sorry again. I have so many thoughts about this.

Thank you for your nice reply to my last ask! I agreed with pretty much everything you said. I think I might like FLF more than TVD as well. It was just so interesting. I loved all the characters with my whole heart. I have one more thing I would like your opinion on. Phoebe being priest? Did you see it coming? What do you think? How do you think Silas will react? Personally, I think he's going to feel really betrayed and then turn communist because I feel like everyone is at this point so why not. Also I'm not completely convinced that Silas doesn't already know somehow... (Even if he doesn't know that he knows if you know what I mean). I spent half of FLF expecting him to be a traitor because of the whole triple agent thing anyway. He's my favorite if you couldn't tell.

I have not read the novellas yet. I am planning to reread FLF in late August/early September to refresh my memory. What's your opinion? Should I read the novellas after that or before?

OMG yeah phoebe being priest completely shocked me. maybe im dumb but i really did not see it coming at all. i honestly love her for that though, how she acts clueless about the whole situation when she is IN on it. makes me laugh. i definitely think silas knows at least a little bit, especially considering how like head over heels in love with her he is. im not quite sure how he’ll react, although do think he’s going to be hurt with phoebe for not telling him. probably going to taint the crush a little bit.

honestly i think you could read either first, especially since you already read flf. the only character from flf that’s in the novellas is celia i think, and she’s only in there for a little bit. the novellas are mostly about the main tvd gang. i definitely need to read flf before book two comes out, but im so excited to see where it goes!!
