Dating HCs: High school au

Pairing: Ray Toro x Reader (could potentially be read for anyone tbh) this is also ver gender neutral i think.

Word Count: 500+

Note: did someone say poorly written high school au?? i am sleep deprived and i wanted to write a little something. it’s a little overly English, but it works. feel free to drop some criticism or requests, it really helps me out!!

• stopping off at a corner store, or maybe a sweet shop on your way to school

• this then leads to you both attempting to sweets into each others pockets (without the other knowing) for as long as you have them

• you hangout under the stairwell in your free periods. or maybe when you skip class, your choice. it’s a cool, sheltered spot in a quiet part of the school, perfect place to chill and listen to music, or exchange quick kisses between classes.

• you also like to hang out round the back of the field. if you’re a smoker, you’ll share a couple of cigs, both wrapped in your hoodies cause school blazers do nothing to protect you from the elements. if not: you just fuck around listening to music , sharing headphones (very cute)

• this man cannot tie a tie to save his life, you are constantly having to fix it for him. wrapping the tie around you own neck to tie it and then throwing it at him.

• maybe you have very different schedules, which sucks, but it means you can walk each other to class, holding hands as you wander through the tight corridors and the swarms of students

• leaving the aforementioned classes to “go to your locker” (make out under the stairwell)

• he’s an absolute sweetheart btw

• covers for you if you don’t feel like showing up to a specific class

• explaining that you need to be parters for group projects because you work well together (he wants an excuse sit near you for that class)

• also: messing around in the computer lab!! playing shitty flash games when the teachers back is turned, he keeps switching off your computer, so you start “editing” his work, writing little notes or whatever you can think of.

• study dates!! meeting up after school at one of your houses, getting some snacks and blasting through your homework together. getting distracted by what’s on tv, or the music you have in the background, completely forgetting the homework till the day it’s due.

• or alternatively: when you do manage to actually do the work, swapping subjects based on your skills. Ray helps you with your English lit. essay while you take a look at his bio quiz. marking a few answers wrong to make it “realistic”, squabbling over each others scores.

• Maybe “you” did a little better on the English essay than him (he did both), you buy him a soda as an apology.

• if one of you has detention, you may as well both have it. you’re pretty much a package deal.

• waiting outside the detention room so you can walk home together, very cute.

• crashing at each others houses after school, dumping your blazers and uncomfortable shoes, laying down on the floor together and listening to music, I’m envisioning a combination of iron maiden and weezer. (only in dreams has my heart)

• maybe you sleep over and end up accidentally swapping uniform. despite your size difference, one of you ends up in the wrong blazer?? to this day neither of you know who’s tie belongs to who.
