And they look super good!! DT's has a bit of a blemish on his empty socket, but hopefully that won't happen again in the official batch XD CMYK ofc desaturated the original colors, so I've made some tweaks and hopefully I didn't mess them up for the finals-

They're all planned to be double sided, clear acrylics with slightly different images on each side, but I definitely wanna make a series with the broken glass holographic eventually~

I got a variety to see which one I like best, and I think I'm gonna go with the epoxy, I just need to decide on one-sided epoxy finish or double-sided epoxy finish. Any preference? 👀 PLEASE let me know I caNNOT decide both sound nice X'D

I had an inkling that Papyrus was probably some form of introvert or ambivert as I related to him far too heavily not to see some overlap with my own social persuasion, but that post was an excellent explanation and I had completely forgotten that Papyrus is basically defacto mayor of Snowdin. Politics Bear even says essentially that with his dialogue about their political system involving a skeleton talking to a fish about what's been going on in the town.

my god the papyrus introvert/extrovert analysis was so pussy popping for me. can I ask how you analyze characters because at this point you have to leave some prowess for the rest of us. love your stuff.

rule number one never state anything as fact unless you can back it up with minimum one direct reference to canon, preferably more. Unfortunately you just have to be really autistic for this step (tip: the undertale dialogue dump and the UT text project are your best friends)

rule number two, be your own most insidious critic. look over what you put together and think "if i were a contrarian little shit who wanted to disagree with everything i said, what would be my arguments, what sources would i cite, what ground would i stand on" and either pick their thesis to shreds, or alter your original take accordingly if you do notice a gap in your logic.

rule number three, always, always ask yourself "why would toby have made this decision". characters and stories don't appear out of the ether, they are information offered to you by the author with (sometimes very clear, sometimes not so much) intent behind it. if the text presents you with something, ask yourself: should i take this at face value? is this an objective representation of reality within the work? is this tainted by one of the characters' personal views? are they right? are they wrong? are they lying? are they misinformed? repeat the first two thesis/antithesis/synthesis steps for this stuff as well and you'll slowly build up your analysis muscles

The floofiest toaster will be missed

It's with an absolutely devastated heart that I say this, but my floofiest of bois, Archie, suddenly passed away yesterday.

He was a good, silly little boy, who loved his face being pet and was absolutely crazy about turkey. He was very happy and very loved, he will be extremely missed.

I'll still try to get the comic update done for the week, it'll be a distraction I guess, but I don't have the energy to make any other posts this week.

A continuation is definitely still in the cards. I've mainly just been away, focusing on my life and figuring out some personal hang-ups. The comic still holds a special place in my life, so sometime after I make my return to YouTube, UnderSource's Dub will be continuing. Of course, this is at least another year down the line, if not more.

But no one who's a fan of the comic should think I've forgotten, because I haven't. I still follow the comic weekly and I often think of cool ideas for adapting it to video as I'm reading new pages. Here's hoping we can break the Maestro Curse yet. XD

Is anyone doing comic dubs on Under/source?

As far as I'm aware there are currently no active dubs. There was a time --looks dramatically into the distance-- long ago...but they all got dropped for one reason or another.

OKAY. im not going to be mean to the person who reblogged this, because you’re probably either young or misinformed. instead im just going to make this a message to the fandom as a whole, because this is literally straight up ableism and im tired of it lmfao

okay. papyrus is a grown adult, at the VERY youngest a teen probably about 16-17, and that’s if you TRY to make him younger but stick somewhat to canon.

papyrus is autistic-coded. i am autistic, so im speaking based on my own experiences, everyone is different.

autistic people have a history of being infantilized/babied by allistic (non-autistic) people. why? because autistic people are ‘less knowledgeable’ about the world.

people find it cute when we don’t pick up on social cues, or cute when a joke flies over our head. they’ll tilt their head and go, ‘oh, don’t worry about it’. they’ll treat us like we’re dumb, that we simply don’t know things.

papyrus is autistic coded (and coded quite well imo). hidden intent flies over his head, he doesn’t quite grasp that other people want to cause harm, or their reactions to something (see: undyne’s reaction to him giving her another bone). he can take care of himself.

he is an adult who swears, he is an adult that supports himself. ‘his brother pays the bills’ and papyrus is the one to cook/buy groceries (though sans mostly goes to grillby’s), clean up the house, he take care of his brother as much as his brother takes care of him.

‘but papyrus needs sans because-‘ and sans needs papyrus, that’s their whole thing. they’re dependent on each other, and they make sure the other is happy. papyrus encourages him to take care of himself and work (even if he’s a bit harsh), and sans supports them both financially and supports papyrus in his interests. sans is a wreck without papyrus didnt the fandom like all simultaneously decide that. that sans can’t function without papyrus.

‘what about the fluffy bunny book and the race car bed’ fluffy bunny is a routine. autistic people love routine. he reads complex books too did you forget. he reads manuals about traps and how to make them. fluffy bunny is a comfort to him just like how childhood stuffed animals are comfort to you.

and for your information the racecar bed is sick. ITS FUCKING AWESOME MAN. who wouldn’t want one. the underground is fucking depressing, having a bed that mimics one of his dreams (to ride a red car) is the best he can hope for. that doesn’t mean he’s a child, it means he’s a guy trapped underground. besides what is wrong with having childish interests. i still eat chicken nuggets and smile fries and watch cartoons, but i still say fuck and have a job. i am not a child, but i enjoy childish things.

anyway yeah. papyrus is an adult, he drives a car for fucks sake in the epilogue. the fandom as a whole needs to stop treating him like a kid, it makes me and many other autistic people heavily uncomfortable. that’s all <3

Learning not to self-deprecate is very important. Words you say or think hold far more power than most give them credit for, so if you talk poorly of yourself, even ironically, your view of yourself can become distorted to an unhealthy degree. That's the last thing we want, since finding out who you are/want to be is hard enough without the mental fog self depreciation creates.

As others here have said in the notes, words of positive affirmation are a great habit to get into, or if negativety is warranted, put a positive spin so it's critical but affirmative rather than critical for the sake of it.

Of course, you should also remember not to take yourself too seriously. It's perfectly good to say you're silly, or weird, or to occasionally poke fun at yourself/situation for small things that don't matter, just as long as you're being lighthearted.

"Whoops, look at me throwing things again", is a far better way to handle dropping things repeatedly than, "Wow, I can't even seem to hold things right today. What's wrong with me?" It might be a silly example, but I've seen people talk like this and I talked like that all the time before unlearning that behavior.

Just know that while it's hard to break bad habits, self-depreation is probably the easiest one to start with. And it'll do a lot more good for you than the energy it'll take to stop.

learning that self depreciation isnt cool and just makes the people around you uncomfortable unironically improved my mental health a lot. like if you just stop saying negative shit about yourself you will genuinely like yourself more and other people wont be repulsed by your attitude and you will have more friends. it's true.

This isn’t saying you shouldn’t write bad or sad stories or anything, but from Gaster’s perspective as a character in those stories of course he’d want “happy” endings, haha.

But anyway, I kept telling you guys that when Handplates was over I would tell you. Well… here we are. After seven long years, here we are.

When I started I never thought I’d make it. To be honest, it doesn’t feel real to me at all. My brain still expects to do another page in about two weeks as it always does. I assume it’ll take a while to sink in. There’s a lot to say but this post is already incredibly long (sorry), so it’s probably suited to its own post.

But for all of you out there who read this story, whether you were there from the beginning or just came in now, thank you so much. And for all of you that were inspired by this comic, who created things for it, who blessed me with so many amazing gifts of art and fic and music and dubs and videos and so much more… I don’t know how to thank you enough. I never dreamed that an idle idea could have come this far or had such an impact on my life and so many people, but it did.

I kind of feel at a loss for words… again it’s very surreal. But I will say that Gaster wondering whether the kid is an actual human or not has an unintended level to it since my avatar is a fox but it’s TOO LATE NOW I GUESS lol.

These are all absolutely excellent recommendations. They're all the most "Undertale" that fanworks have felt outside of Biscia's comics. And while you haven't read it, I personally think Insomnia is the best execution of delving into Sans's depression, anxiety, mysterious origins, etc, while still keeping him true to his character. It even features Papyrus's own anxiety and coping mechanisms while keeping him optimistic and not "cinnamon roll"-ing him in the slightest. It's been an excellent character-examiation of the brothers and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants some Undertale angst without it being ooc or over-played. Plus the art is god-tier.

Any good undertale comic recommendations?

anything by @lynxgriffin (dogs of future past is a fandom classic), unexpected guests by my good pal sams @undertalethingems, and Over The Void at @undertale-over-the-void if you're looking for a long-fic style of comic. the last two are still ongoing to this day! I've also heard very good things about insomnia by @wily-art, as i'm 90% sure sam recced it to me some time ago, but i haven't had the chance to sit down and read it in order yet. the art is absolutely spectacular though. you don't need a deep dive to see that :]
