Oh yeah, I blazed for hours yesterday!

We got rid of a ton of unrecyclable paper, cardboard and wooden junk in the burn bin since the weather was nice! I had to watch it to ensure none of the planks were a hazard, since at two seperate points, a piece of them fell onto the nearby ground. Where we do this, it's all rock though, and I used a nearby shovel to smother the flames in seconds, so things were safe!

What? Burning things isn't what you all are talking about? Huh..

What is your favorite Weapon

My mind.

Creative thinking can solve problems no explosive, blade or firearm ever could. But if you want an answer closer to what you actually asked, I usually prefer high-powered semi-automatic pistols and rifles. As a unicorn skilled in telekinesis, I have no issues wielding revolvers, and thus tend to favor Lil' Macintosh, but if I had to use anything else, I'd prefer a more modern yet still time-tested design. A sidearm that is also a solid primary weapon? I'll take it!

(Also, this was asked and responded to all the back in late 2021, but only now is being seen due to being lost in the depths of Tumblr's systems; fun times!)

A warning for vague discussion of a particular type of abuse in the text to follow.

After a bit more reflection, I've decided what I was originally going to say, won't be. At least not in whole. But I'll point out that when something concerns a particular group of people, be they related by ethnicity, religion or simply tragedy, it is the individual members of that collective's decision on whether they're "offended" by something. Not some assholes who engage in culture wars over topics they've never been affected by, and in many cases, never will.

You can and absolutely should show support for those who suffer things you've not, but don't you fucking dare speak as if you were a victim of.. that.. when some of us were. And pray you never are...

Twitter was a mistake.

Long story short, someone with a kink worked on a show that dealt with the harmful form of the subject, but idiots who've never experienced it assume the worst, even though those of us who have been hurt by the actual problem agree it was done respectfully and wasn't condoning it in the slightest.

Let me just enjoy my goddamn, pun intended, cartoon musical, ok? Ok. Thanks.

I need to talk about something that is.. a heavier topic than usual. Yeah, even moreso than the world politics or other social issues that come up! But due to their nature, I don't wanna put such words in the same update where I mention something as casual as like, uh, Fallout being free on GOG via Amazon/Twitch Prime. So in the event you somehow lack that, well, there ya go!

Would you be interested in listening to some music?

I put together a playlist of licensed tracks that I thought fit the events of Fo:E, and I thought you might wanna give it a look.

I actually beat ya to the punch on that by a few years! Sort of!

Over on my Youtube channel I not only have this playlist which contains music that was in the games & related media, or often in New Vegas' case, merely referenced via quest titles and dialog. I tried not to lean too heavily on any particular artist or style, so ones from the same artists are very spread out, and I skipped a handful of songs based on personal preference. I also tended to use alternate recordings I either felt were better made or simply gave a fresher take than what we experienced ingame. Finally, I ensured the list's order has a sort of sense to it, with, for example 'Maybe' being the very first, and 'It's All Over But the Crying' being the final track.

In addition, this playlist here is basically about why war never changes, and how it sucks, as do all the injustices in the world performed upon humanity by their fellow being. It's not easy listening, more the kind of thing you put on to get charged up by so you can hopefully do your part to make the world better; but I think it important to mention too.

Alright so, it's been about a week..

In the unlikely event I friended you on Discord; remove me. It's not me, at least not at the moment. I don't want to say more, but my account of 7+ years was compromised. I've since invested into a VPN and additional safety measures, and have also discovered other issues I was unaware of in this Youtube channel here.

(Also, don't link any of those vids or images IN Discord itself because THAT can cause problems thanks to, you guessed it, AI..)

It's ironic since I'm always taking steps to protect myself and my devices, and then this happens anyways. Doesn't matter I paid for Nitro for years or that these and many other issues are known or the context; nothing does. Maybe in a few more weeks or months or whatever I'll get resolution but I'm not counting on it. For now.. I am unsure what to do with the service, and hardly used it with most folks I know here anyways.

I mean, basically this.

Most of the awards were unworthy or trolling, and several of 'em actually won! Does The Last of Us Part I really have better music than say, Hi-Fi Rush or freakin' Persona, or is it simply more popular? Did we just forget about all the blatant -phobias & -isms in that Harry Potter game (lots of fantasy settings have greedy goblins, but.. the goblin artifact looking exactly like a Jewish horn, being dated during a Jewish tragedy, and having a particular cheese in it is one too many coincidences..) for the Steam Deck category, for which it doesn't perform good in either?

Although that franchise does have enough fans that it could have been them voting for it simply "because", at least..

Atomic Heart does fit it's category, but it may or may not have issues as well, which I'm not delving further into. Yong focuses on the insanity behind the RDR2 choice himself, and Baldur's Gate III did win what it was supposed to, fortunately. I think Starfield, unlike the others, should send a message to Bethesda about how they NEED to make it right, which they were already working on before this. To "win" this category is not an honor, it's a cone of shame. They had one placed on them after Fallout 76 and fixed it, so now they need to do so again, lest they get neutered..

There's many others, of course, but these are a few executives whom you can comfortably wish the worst upon with a clear conscience. It's telling that only the last two of these have ever worked on any games themselves, with both their actual contributions being decades ago..

IMO, you shouldn't run a company whose products you aren't actually using yourself. I guarantee you that Bobby didn't login to play some Overwatch or World of Warcraft on the weekends; he was too busy flying with Epstein, threatening to kill an employee or firing hundreds of others after posting record profits, of course.

Things continue to be busy, as they always are at this time of year, and have some medical stuff to go over IRL as well. I am deliberately avoiding certain topics because.. I don't want to overstep myself.

But hey, Kotick's gone! Hopefully he'll just retire and not ruin some other videogame company (or business, period), but.. that right there is wishful thinking..

You know what? Fuck the pathetic little incels who doxxed, harrassed and threatened one of the Internet's most wholesome beans, Jocat, into retiring from content creation. All because he dared to be a straight man who was supportive of the rights of everyone to love who we want to love. That these lonely, worthless shells of human beings felt a need to attack him in the real world, supposedly for a video he did three years ago which was BODY POSITIVE, but is really 'cause he dared host a charity against transphobia..

Go to hell if you support those who did this to him.

My advice to anyone who's ever in this situation, besides immediately seeking legal representation and protection for their family, would be to take a break from whatever it is that got them into this situation.. but not quit entirely. That only enables this scum, and motivates them to ruin the lives of others in the future. It is never wrong to stand up for what is just. And the rights of consenting adults to live the way they want to, provided it doesn't endanger others, is sacrosanct; as is the defense of those rights. Period.

I hope you all had a good holiday! Mine was mostly focused around my niece & nephew, who are the "kids" in the family here, though both are going into or are already past twenty. They have their own notable health issues however, but as it isn't really relevant and I don't wanna violate anyone's privacy, I shall leave it at that.

We had a small but pleasant time together, but the nicest thing was the food! My father prepared one of the best meatloafs ever, and the mashed potatoes and assorted vegetables were cooked to perfection. It was also an excuse to get the 'A Christmas Story' miniature leg lamp out, but my older sister really wants us to get (and her!) the full size one. It is a major award, after all!

As for me, personally? I got not one or two, but four gifts on Steam from readers and close friends! Three of them wished to remain anonymous, but a big shout out to Doubleclick the Pony for NieR: Automata! The other titles I got were Horizon: Zero Dawn, Baldur's Gate III and.. let's say my Homage got.. the other one... (NSFW)
