Boo, I'm sorry you're struggling and getting bad feedback. Saying fanart is limiting your growth is a wild take, and absolutely not the case! I suppose sure if you only ever tried to reproduce canon style and poses it might be, but that's not what fanart is nor is it what you're doing. You can push yourself and grow technique-wise using fandom as your inspiration! (Not to mention, when people think "classical art" they are usually imagining fanart of historical figures and Bible characters sooooo...)

That's so true!! I think if I started to re-draw classical art (which is not bad in any way..) I won't grow much since it'll be copying..without guidance those will be just replicas. Those people around me don't understand what they saying. I think those people just hate to see how passionate I am about something they don't understand or haven't enforced on me, and it drives them NUTS, so they making every excuse to turn me away from it. using "logic" and "threats" and getting mad when I ignore. Fandom always been my inspiration to improve! and I will dwell on this even more! I thank you so much!

Guys, I do feel awful and I do need some mental support. I don't feel like I'm progressing much in art (which is a whole separate topic I'll open someday). And the reaction of the people around me is: "it is because you draw FANART!!! Quit drawing those 'characters and themes you love and make you feel alive' and draw classical art instead! You'll never reach anything otherwise! Fanart is for pathetic beings with no imagination and no future. Those characters don't belong to you! you're just a copycat" Please somebody help me, please help me hear something different. I'm on my limit......

8 years ago even a few weeks before this game-changing gay movie was out, I knew my life as a longtime Yugioh fan, as well as my life in general, would never be the same. I owe the DSoD a bunch: I drew hundreds of pieces of fan art; I met awesome friends both online and in person; and most importantly, the DSoD was what significantly helped me get through hard times. 🥹🥹

I tried the pixel art style this time. I'm not sure it worked the way I had intended to, but I did my best😆

Soon after the events of ep.8 , Alastor collapses to the ground in his room in front of Husk (you can refer to one of my previous pics of them). Husk calls in Nifty to help him tend the wounds (Nifty is very excited at first..). ----- H:"Now pass me that alcohol bottle." N:"for the wound?" H:"for me, dumbass! I want to drink!" ----- You can look at this as RadioHusk pic (as I ship them as friends AU), or as a more canon interpretation where Husk is terrified for his and Nifty's life if their boss dies (since we don't know how their contract works).

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

#3. Episode 167 - When you need someone with power to listen to you

Amelda/Alister is one of the characters who have the best portrayal in the entire Yugioh franchise combined. I love how the Doma arc portrays the way he projects his despair, agony, and frustration towards Kaiba brothers.

Although Amelda longs for a revenge and the total destruction of the entire humanity, what he actually needs is anyone with power to listen to him. This ulterior motive begins to reveal itself when he gets Seto to go through a hallucinatory firsthand experience of many war orphans. At the end of the re-match with Kaiba, Amelda even gives Seto a "chance" to prove his ability to save Mokuba from certain death. He wouldn't even have bothered to do so if he only saught to avenge Kaiba brothers. Deep inside Amelda knows that it is pointless to avenge Seto who isn't responsible for the death of his family; and that Seto is courageous and determined enough to make any actual difference once Amelda's desperate outcry is heard.

OMG! I LOVE EVERY MOMENT BETWEEN THEM! Every single interaction makes my heart bounce! (and my (and other's) headcanons make my heart jump around too) I JUST LOVE THEM SO MUCH! <3 I can't pick one but I really love them teaming up. Especially with full harmony against Dartz, especially ep 180 (cause ofc, PAIN) where Kaiba being very protective of Atem despite in this ep Atem is clearly holding them both back from winning.

and OFC that prideshipping scene after killed me totally~ XwX Kaiba paid the price for protecting his dear one.. TT (cries)

So yeah, prideshipping is my main OTP and I will die with that ship! Now pardon me, I'll go back to cry from overwatching this episode. The feeling hit so hard! OWO

#2. Episode 175 - a pinch of cuteness won't hurt you

The second duel between Atem and Rafael is one of my favorite duels that have ever aired. I have so many things to say and have more pieces to draw about their exchange of dialogue. I'll get back to this story later.

This duel takes place between two of the most serious characters in the series. Absolutely no joking around-- except for a moment of cuteness overloading when Kuriboh Brothers cheerfully bounce around in the Seal of Orichalcos...😂😂 This scene gives a breather for the audience with a grin on their lips appreciating the cute furballs. I love it when renouned Yugioh animation directors, including Kenichi Hara who was responsible for this episode, add pleasant jokes like this at their discretion :))

If Alastor isn't smiling..it's serious… Despite being under his charge, Husk always felt he could speak his mind to Alastor, and perhaps it's the reason Al kept him alive, unlike the other overlords. He always could speak to Al's soul and understand him on a deep level.

I got hard into Hazbin Hotel and those guys are my faves of the series. And until ep 5 I found myself shipping those two.. (wait, I still ship them but more as AU...)

This was sketched on my D&D notebook during a session. hence the lines. (but shhhh those are glithces).
