She's intoxicating.
Solas didn't think so, not at first. Not when he was kneeling over her prone body, examining the green mark on her hand.
Her life is nothing, he thinks to himself then, vicious and hateful — though towards who, even he is not sure. A mayfly's life. Short and meaningless. She has purpose only because of the mark.
His mark.
Solas isn't prepared for her, awake and vibrant. He's not prepared for her curiosity or her kindness. Nor for her determination to protect him, not that he needs it.
He doesn't know why she's so fond of him. He thinks, at first, it is because he is a fellow elf among humans. Because she is Dalish, and clings to what she knows.
Soon, however, he realizes his folly. She likes him not because he is an elf, but simply because he is.
Solas is no longer used to people liking him. The very novelty of it would be enough, if he didn't soon realize that he was growing as fond of her as she is of him.
But it isn't until the attack on Haven that he realizes how fond.
