How they’d deal with a student with exam stress:

Jonathon Crane:

This guy literally lectures at a university as a part of his job so he knows exactly what you are going through and what the exams are like. He’s also a psychologist so he understands pretty well what kind of emotions and stresses that you’re going through. When you’re struggling with something he’ll try to help you by finding the answers for yourself to try and build up your confidence. He will hate to ever hear you talking about yourself like you’re hopeless, you get a lecture about how if you can’t do it yet then you will be able to soon. Any tears though and he immediately gets you to give in, he’ll pull some strings with your lecturer at the university and you’ll still pass the course anyway.

Jim:

He would be the sort of guy that would just sit down with you and try to help you to do it, he wouldn’t see the point of sitting down and anxiously procrastinating when you could just get the worries out of the way. He’s put his glasses on and sit down at the desk with you, taking your laptop and reading down the screen. After he’d puzzled it out he’d start with a “Right, so, what I think you need to do is…” You could expect lots of soft fore head kisses along the way to try and keep you motivated. If you were revising for exams rather than writing something for an assignment then he would make a revision timetable, he’s a fan of an excel spreadsheet to keep things on track. He’s the sort to proactively manage stress rather than letting it sit and get worse.

Lenny Miller:

He’s a bit of a liability to have around when you’re studying. He has a bit of an ego so if you ask for help with something he will insist that he knows how to do it even if he doesn’t. Sitting with Lenny Miller at 2 am as he tries to explain Plato’s allegory of the cave from a Wikipedia article, whilst complaining that it really doesn’t make a difference to the world anyway, is a uniquely irritating experience.

Oppie:

He can be pretty short with mere mortals who simply can’t see the world in any greater depth than what is directly in front of them. The likelihood is though that if he spends enough time with someone to help them study then he is going to make the time and have the patience to help you. He’d be a dream to study with, no matter the topic he would be the annoying sod that could pick up anything if he was given the time and resources, being able to reword passages from textbooks in such a way that you understood them straight away. He’d sit there all night with you chainsmoking cigarettes and sipping from a glass of whiskey. Somehow studying with Oppie was actually enjoyable!

One thing I don’t understand i might be wrong but I pretty sure that in season one Tommy said to Campbell that he won’t shake his hand because he didn’t fight for his country but won’t Campbell be to old to go the war

Sorry, I just found this. I did a bit of googling and yes, I think Campbell was likely too old to have fought, he was definitely pushing it at the very least. I think Tommy would take any excuse possible to not shake the bastard’s hand though!

There was a serious social stigma around anybody who didn’t fight in the war at the time, regardless of what their reason was people thought if they could fight and didn’t they were cowards, so that could have had a draw on it.

I bet Tommy would have read about what the police had been doing in Ireland/NI at the time though, and I doubt he’d have taken kindly to the kinds of things the Brits in positions of authority were doing. They were bloody horrendous to ordinary civilians as well as those fighting for independence. I imagine Tommy saw him as a coward for his responsibility in this maybe?!

Not my specialist subject by any means, so maybe fact check me, but I hope this helps!

Pregnancy With Emmett Headcanons

I’m (sort of) back, easing my way in with some headcanons and a mood board. A Bond inspired Lenny Miller fic is also in the works but the plot is taking some thought. Love to you all and thanks for bearing with me.

Basically, I have baby fever and nowhere to direct it, here are the results!

Warnings: fluffy garbage!

He is the absolute most sensitive guy whilst you’re pregnant, starting the whole process clueless and then reading about 10 pregnancy books in the first two weeks of the pregnancy.

More that happy to go out and get weird foods at 2:00am to satisfy your pregnancy cravings.

He’s over the moon about the idea of being a dad and definitely cries at the first scan when he sees the baby in the monitor, even if he won’t admit it.

He has an obsession with your baby bump and has his hands on it as much as is socially acceptable and more than is so when you’re alone together. Feeling the baby kick is the the most excited you’ve ever seen him.

So overprotective in the later stages of your pregnancy it becomes lowkey annoying, but it’s coming from a place of love. He’ll stop when you get frustrated with him, but he’ll stand there with a face like a kicked puppy if you yell at him for it.

You can’t tell me he doesn’t have a golden retriever called Max or something similar that won’t leave your side whilst you’re carrying. When the baby is born he becomes its best friend.

He’s with you the entire time you give birth. Internally he’s freaking out from seeing you in pain but he can’t help a sense of pride in how amazing you are. He’ll hold your hand through the entire thing. There’s a photo on the mantelpiece of him perched on the side of your hospital bed with his arms around your shoulders as you cradle your new born.

He’s a girl dad, I’m sorry but he just is!

He’s going to learn how to do French braids and there will be one day where he turns up to work (I picture him as a mechanic for some reason) with his nails painted pink because he forgot to remove it after his daughter’s efforts the previous day.

She’s going to be a total daddy’s girl. If anybody ever tries to touch her they will have to answer to him. Good luck to her when she reaches an age to start bringing boys home. None of them will stand a chance or ever be good enough for his little girl.
