You know what's frustrating? Procrastination and any type of creative block you can think of.
What makes it more frustrating? WHEN YOU HAVE TO MANY IDEAS AND AUS IN YOUR HEAD BUT JUST CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO ACTUALLY WRITE THEM DOWN OR DRAW THEM!!!!
That's what imma be doin right now. Writing my Mortal Kombat thoughts before I lose them to the back burner of my mind and they never see the light of day again. And I shall add to this so I can have them in all one spot.
1. More pathetic Shang Tsung AU
This is basically a good Shang Tsung AU, but we it's more twink and pathetic like to start of the game. He still serves cunt and is the sass king, but we see him interact with other characters as the poor man he is. Also I like the idea he's actually trying to be a doctor and help people like him who's living on the streets. Everyone tries to help him make his dream come true, but somehow he finds himself in situations where he's all bloody and pathetic because he's pretty that way.
2. Funny Lin Kuei bros with Batfam
Just a funny but found family filled crossover that's my weakness. DC and Mortal Kombat has already had a crossover so why not let the two most disastrous, trauma filled families interact! And in my mind, the batfam is from the Wayne Family Adventures webtoon, but oh do I love my angst that makes me ball.
3. Yakuza terrorize Johnny
Now, these two lover boys keep their relationship on the down low, but Johnny is still Johnny so he's gonna broadcast his time with Kenshi sometimes. But, Kenshi had a reason to want to keep it quiet and now Johnny is a target. He's one of Kenshi's weaknesses that's the quick and easiest to track down, so they use him. Johnny knows something is going on, but he doesn't know who it is. Kenshi is angry and tries to do his job faster.
Okay, that's all I could remember so feast on this while I think of more. And honestly for shits and giggles, imma open asks even though I dont know how they work. But we about to find out. So, ask about them if you want or request some art if you wanna, I need to get my creative brain in action anyway.

Headcanon that one of Syzoth's favorite movie/show series is How to Train Your Dragon.
Like, some of the stuff he's seen about big giant lizards is that they live among the people (literally said in an intro) and how they aren't good. And sure, there are some other shows with dragons but they are mostly mythical, dangerous and aggressive creatures. But when he either discovers or is shown HTTYD, he instantly falls in love with it, because it shows the good side of true gaint lizards. Just like himself, at first dragons were seen as a threat to be neutralized. When the people of Berk gets to know them, the dragons have a safe place to stay, no longer seen as monsters. Syzoth wants that for people like him, to have a place with his people and to no longer be seen as monsters.
Bonus: Syzoth's favorite dragon is the Changewing because of the invisibility and acid.

Headcanon that the reason Shang Tsung is so interested in Kuai Liang is because he knew someone just like him when he was younger.
I like to believe Shang Tsung wasn't always alone and had at least one friend in his lifetime. This friend was just like him, alone and with nowhere to go. But they had each other, so it was enough. Shang Tsung's friend was always kind and thoughtful to him, wanting to make sure that he was okay. He was the only light in his awful life. They made promises with each other, that they would aim for a comfortable life and try to help people like them, so others didn't have to experience what they have. So other people didn't have to feel as hopeless as they felt their whole lives.
But one day, Shang Taung lost his light, his only joy in the darkness. All because his friend wanted to take care of him.
With no other person to fill in that massive whole, Shang Tsung's life became one of darkness, never to see the light again. Until he meets Kuai Liang. His kindness, his light, brought so many memories to Shang Tsung's mind. Feeling that light once again, he chances after it, wanting Kuai Liang at his side.

I've thought about doing this for so long but art block is a bitch...
Still gonna do it though.
has anyone turned Tomas into Spiderman yet. I cannot be the only one who's thought of this. Actually this came to me in a dream so it had to be from God or something.

Headcanon that Shang Tsung actually cries alone a lot.
Thought process: his life prior to the game.
We all know that in the beginning of the game, we see Shang Tsung as a sad wet cate before we get our sassy man. But with how his life was and his hunger for power, he still isn't really wanted. That fact, when alone, makes Shang Tsung feel alone. His thoughts about the situation brings out the wet cat version of himself, making him emotional and bringing himself to tears. No one wants to feel unwanted, not even Shang Tsung.
And during the game, he thought he was wanted from Damashi but fines out that it's just his Titian self using him. We all saw the heartbreak on his face, the one person who he thought wanted him didn't even care about him. Feeling and being this alone can't be good for the human psyche, even if that person is a bad guy.

I shall think about this forever now.
Not that I never knew this was true, but it's never been in the forefront of my brain. Because it's very true, he hates what Bi-Han did and will never forgive him for letting their father die. But he can't help but still love him because he's his brother.
Tomas 100% is angry at Bi-Han and resents him for what he did
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tomas: I'll never forgive Bi-Han.
Kuai Liang: His betrayal has seared both our hearts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ashrah: Your anger with Bi-Han still smolders?
Tomas: Where there's smoke, there's fire.
And during fight, if his opponent is Sub-Zero, he says "This is for father".
I don't know why some pretend Tomas has no anger toward Bi-Han or why they expect him to not have any after all that happened. He can't forgive Bi-Han for a reason.

Because of the intro between Kung Lao and Syzoth, I have the headcanon that Kung Lao teaches Syzoth to be confident in himself. Like a hype man.
Kung Lao is so sympathetic that he decides to teach him how to be self confident. Of course, it will take awhile because of how Syzoth grew up, but he won't stop until the Zettaran learns to stand up for himself. Syzoth if confused but grateful to have a good friend/brother like Kung Lao. (This is where Kung Lao struggles, taking compliments that are said wholeheartedly)

Headcanon that when Syzoth goes to Earthrealm, he can be oblivious at times.
Honestly, oblivious isn't the right word, but I can't think of another one. Like, when in Earthrealm, he doesn't understand some of the things there because of the cultural differences. So when people are talking to him (like flirting, joking and/or making fun of him because some people are assholes), he doesn't get what's being said to him. Example of when he asked Johnny what were kudos type stuff. I just think it's funny because the Earthrealm peeps have to pull him along and have to explain what's being said to him. Also it's funny to think about him being oblivious when someone is flirting and he just thinks it's a strange conversation.

Kung Lao would be a meme lord and no one can change my mind.
He has a mindset of one and it fits him so well. Team Earthrealm (that was the first thing that popped in my head) definitely have a group chat where Kung Lao posts daily memes. And when everyone is talking, he responds in memes, which mostly Johnny, Kenshi and sometimes Tomas understands. He has set memes to make fun of everyone when they do something stupid and he only uses Johnny Cage memes to attack Johnny because it’s ironic.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT!!!! He never really states that he's not his brother, he mostly says he's not one of them because his blood isn't Lin Kuei. Under that tough exterior, he loves both his brothers but in older sibling fashion, his job is to bully his younger siblings.
Tumblr media
Mr. yOuR bLOoD WiLl NeVeR bE LiN kUei YoU aReNt My BrOThEr!
But also,
When Tomas gets attacked and knocked off his smoke cloud and falls, Bi-Han looks off the bridge with Kuai Liang in a panic. Bi-Han WAS IN SUCH A PANIC that he didn't even see that big ass rock in front of him. (Or he was trying to step on it but didn't realize it was light or that he put too much pressure on it because he was in SUCH A STATE OF WORRY FOR HIS BROTHER)
Not only that but he actually looks RELIEVED to see Smoke is still there, still alive!
And after the fight he asks BOTH Kuai and Tomas "Are you both unharmed?" He looks at Tomas FIRST then to Kuai then BACK TO TOMAS before Kuai Liang answers him!
Bi-Han is that older sibling who calls you adopted and beats you up but loves you deep down even if he rarely shows it and never says it.
I'm not even sure if Bi-Han really told Tomas to stay back and make sure they don't activate the soul stealers because of THAT or because Bi-Han knew he would be worried about Tomas getting his life threatened again and he already one little brother risking his life and didn't want to add another that he wanted to protect.

Syzoth and Tomas would be the bestest friends, no one can tell me differently.
They both have that wholesome aura around them; Syzoth being that confusion wholesome, not understanding something's being said, and Tomas is that sunshine wholesome, he is a sunshine boy everyone agrees. Whether it be in Outworld or Earthrealm, they are the wholesome duo when hanging out.
And in Earthrealm, they sometimes get recognized by Johnny's fans because they are recurring "actors" from his movies. When they see them, they get obsessed with their friendship. Two tall, strong looking men who are really kind and sweet? Who wouldn't. The two alone is already wholesome, together? Overwhelming. The fans want them to be in more movies together.

Me, peacefully taking a shower:
My brain: Cassie and mk1 Johnny would act more like siblings than father-daughter because they're living around the same era of the world.
Me:
Me: Damn these shower thoughts do be hitting...
Anyway, I had this thought and I think about it, it kinda makes sense. Mk1 is more modernized so Johnny was born around the time technology was more up to date, like cassie. He even be taking selfies. They could bond over things that Mk11 Johnny wouldn't understand and I find that funny. So, do with this what you will, I myself will be in the corner imagining their interaction.
I will also like to say that I am a new person to this fandom, even though I’ve liked mortal kombat since a young age(I blame my younger self for not getting the games), so what I say may be incorrect to how Johnny is from other games. But this is a headcanon so it’s just a thought that was shoved in my head and I like it.

Headcanon that Bi-Han doesn’t actually want to hurt Tomas and Kuai Liang.
Of course, in the game he does because they’re in his way, so he has to. But thinking about it and hearing the intros, there are times when talking with Tomas telling him to summit and he won’t get hurt(? Idk that’s how I see anyway). And with Kuai Liang he talks about how he could’ve ruled by his side. Bi-Han will do what he needs to get what he wants, but if his brothers heed their Grandmaster and join him, I feel like he would also take that route.
And the thing about Tomas not being his brother, he still acts like that, but his replies to Tomas in the intros made this cross my mind. Bi-Han doesn’t consider him a Lin Kuei because he doesn’t have it in his blood, but he doesn’t correct Tomas when he calls his parents Father and Mother. With his personality, Bi-Han would be a type of person to say “stop calling them that, they weren’t your parents.” He never does though. So, he does consider Tomas a brother in some capacity, but not enough to provide evidence to Tomas.

I was interested in something so I watched all of Smoke’s intros with other characters, and mostly his civil with everyone. Except Shang Tsung.
It’s no big surprise, he is the bad guy, but even the other evil characters he’s civil with. I thought about it and I feel like he’s so hostile because he turned Bi-Han away from Kuai Liang and him, his family. If Shang Tsung didn’t try to negotiate about a team up, Bi-Han wouldn’t have gone bad(probably). Because of him, he lost his big brother and the person he idolized from such a young age.
And this got me thinking about a headcanon; if Tomas doesn’t like someone, they are someone you shouldn’t be around. It’s not like a toxic or paranoid person telling you not to trust a person. Tomas is such a genuinely nice and kind person, so everyone around likes him and want to get to know him. He’s such a wholesome person that he sees good in people that are actually bad people, though Shang Tsung is the exception because he has a grudge over him. But if Tomas doesn’t like a person, you know that person is monstrous. You should get away from that person as fast as you can because they cannot be trusted.
