If I’m lucky, someday in the future I’ll see what I’ve written here and think how young I still was and how much more there was ahead. Until then I’ll keep writing things down, both the things I make up and the things that have happened. It is the way I’ve learned to see my life.

Rightfully, the world should be a whirlpool of kissing into which we sank and never found the strength to rise up again.

I approve. Especially if the book wrapped up under there is "How to Live Safely..." by Charles Yu.

It’s that thing when you’re with someone, and you love them and they know it, and they love you and you know it… but it’s a party… and you’re both talking to other people, and you’re laughing and shining… and you look across the room and catch each other’s eyes… but - but not because you’re possessive, or it’s precisely sexual… but because… that is your person in this life. And it’s funny and sad, but only because this life will end, and it’s this secret world that exists right there in public, unnoticed, that no one else knows about. It’s sort of like how they say that other dimensions exist all around us, but we don’t have the ability to perceive them. That’s - That’s what I want out of a relationship. Or just life, I guess.

"I want this one moment. It’s - it’s what I want in a relationship… which might explain why I am single now. Ha, ha. It’s, uh - It’s kind of hard lo - it’s that thing when you’re with someone… and you love them and they know it… and they love you and you know it… but it’s a party… and you’re both talking to other people… and you’re laughing and shining… and you look across the room… and catch each other’s eyes… but - but not because you’re possessive… or it’s precisely sexual… but because… that is your person in this life. And it’s funny and sad, but only because… this life will end, and it’s this secret world… that exists right there… in public, unnoticed, that no one else knows about. It’s sort of like how they say that other dimensions exist… all around us, but we don’t have the ability to perceive them. That’s - That’s what I want out of a relationship. Or just life, I guess. Love. — I sound stoned. I’m not stoned. Thanks for dinner. Bye.”

I'm using Duolingo to learn French. It's a pretty cool app, and free. I think if you actually use it daily it might really help learn at least the basics. I highly recommend it.

It's kind of like I was flying a kite for the past five months, and some days it was sunny and breezy but a lot of the time it was stormy, and now that I've let go, I'm gonna miss my kite but my fingers are happy that they get to relax instead of fighting against the kite's natural inclination to obey the wind.

What do you look like?
A slightly less cartoonish version of my icon picture. I think if you search through this blog you'll be able to find a pic or two. Although I might take them down if I ever muster up the energy.

I wasn't in a fairytale or a fable. I shut my eyes and absorbed the silent whoop that always accompanies this revelation. It's the sound of the real world, gigantic and impossible, replacing the smaller version of reality that I wear like a bonnet, clutched tightly under my chin. It would require constant vigilance to not replace each person with my own fictional version of them.
