Ok VERY slight clearup- i don't think the videos she took at the zoo are indicative of anything. It's not a common term anymore, but in the early 2000s/2010s, X-gasm tended to just mean excitement- i.e. "fangasm" being used alongside fangirling.
The Zoophobia snake bathtub art and the old playlist are ABSOLUTELY real and disgusting, but as someone familiar with older fandom culture I wanted to clear up that one misconception.

Since I'm the #1 advocate of "Heaven should've been held off on until Season 2 at LEAST" and according to Season 2 leaks Emily is going to be a main character, I'll take this time to toss how I would've written Season 2 and Emily into the void for you to enjoy:
At the start of Season 2, Emily is sent down to watch over the hotel and gather info to send back to heaven- the angels are beginning to grow curious and potentially fearful about the hotel and they want to know just WHAT is happening.
Emily shows up at the hotel as an "ambassador" of sorts- saying that if Charlie manages to redeem a sinner, she'll spread the news to Heaven and try to get more hotels opened and start a proper push for redemption in Hell. She's a bit more naive than Charlie due to growing up in Heaven and sometimes she has some trouble shaking her heavenly instincts, but like Charlie she believes in redemption and truly is hopeful for the project.
However as time goes on, not only does she truly bond with Charlie and the hotel's residents, but she begins to see how totalitarian Hell's punishment is- sinners who had committed the most minor sins or were sent to Hell for something someone else did beginning to flood the hotel. Over the season she begins to grow more and more suspicious of Heaven, with it culminating in her and Charlie striking back against Adam and the system at the end of the season.

The booking price for Norman Reedus is estimated to be between $150,000-$299,000 while Kesha is believed to be between $150,000-$299,000 or $175,000-$306,250.
Imagine how much Vivziepop must’ve spent on them combined to have them voice Striker and Beezlebub in Helluva Boss. She's fine with spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on celebrity cameos she'll never afford again, but not on her employees, who are struggling to pay their bills due to their poor wages.
Vivziepop will waste all her money on celebrities, Broadway actors and shows, and world travel before ever giving Spindlehorse employees a higher wage.

LITERALLY- this drove me INSANE in the pilot and even more so in the main series. Like aside from the fact there's GOT to be some sinners who either committed incredibly minor sins or are convinced they don't belong in hell, you're telling me angel dust is the ONLY sinner who decided to stay at the hotel and pretend to try and improve in order to be sheltered from the extermination??? Even if everyone else is convinced redemption is impossible, does NO ONE ELSE want to save their own skin badly enough they'd go along with Charlie's plan?
funniest thing about hazbin the television show is that the whole driving motivation of the protagonist is preventing exterminations except she's also literally the only one who cares about them. they kill thousands at random every year, you'd THINK that a place full of selfish motherfuckers in that position would jump at the opportunity to try and save their skin, but they don't care. it was an issue with the pilot but it's even funnier in the show. they announce that the next extermination is in 6 months and everyone's just like damn that sucks. they had to suddenly make it later so that adam is targeting the hotel specifically because otherwise it literally doesn't matter

Honeslty I have no idea why H.H and H.B fans are like that.
In all of my years in the internet I have never seen a fandom so toxic a protective of a piece of media since the days of Steven Universe and this fandom is wayyyy worse.
If I have to do a comparison, the strongest stans act like Karen parents who think their little darling baby is perfect and can do no wrong.
When reality almost everyone and their mothers can see that the kid is faaaar from perfect can even be an asshole. But God forbid to mention that to them! Even you say in the nicest way possible, they'll make an scandal and accuse of being a horrible human being that is abusing their little darling
The most surprinsing thing off all is that the majority of this stans are ADULTS, and not even young adults like 18-19 but late twenties, early thirties.
Shouldn't they know better?
Shouldn't they know that is very inmature to start fights over a show?
Are their adults lives so boring and lack of meaning that their only hope to live another day is this mediocre sexy demon show?
It has to be! If they can go as far as harrass, bully and silence everyone that even has something negative to say about their show.
I am someone who considers hersefl a more passive fan, downgrade from the rabid fangirl I was when H.H pilot dropped and worse when H.B ep 1 arrived.
I don't like H.H but I still find H.B enjoyable to a degree (think about it like fast food). I like watching it and seeing fan art but I am by no means blind to its flaws.
Honestly I don't have much to say- I think your write up was pretty damn solid. I think it has to come from (at least partially) how Viv reacts to criticism. ANY critique and she starts publicly throwing a fit, even if it's harmless or from a fan. Then all of her rabid stans show up to defend her because GOD FORBID anyone critique the QUEEN OF INDIE ANIMATION

I just wanna get a little bit into this one comment right here bc those are actually one of my exact issues with Alastor as a character and I can't believe I never acknowledged this. His manipulation tactic fucking. Suck. Ass.
Yes, Alastor was able to manipulate Husk into signing a contract, but when it comes to Charlie...how do I even explain this.
His attitude towards Charlie has changed which I began to notice. I rewatched the hh pilot and began to compare Al's relationship with Charlie compared to how their dynamic is in the show. And let me tell you, Al was waaaaay more nicer to Charlie in the pilot. In the show, he straight up calls Charlie 'delusional' with 'daddy issues'. And I said wtf? Didn't he call her a 'charming demon bell'? Why is he more bitter towards Charlie? The princess of hell? To me, that's so out of character. It would've made it more interesting to see Al have a completely different personality to add on more onto his plans.
I believe what was originally going FOR Alastor was that he was supposed to act professional and act like a gentleman to the main cast before his true intentions were shown later on. I wish that route took THERE because in the pilot, his evil intentions were rarely shown. He was more trusting. His manipulation towards Charlie was less obvious. But now, in the show, we as the audience know he will betray Charlie at some point. The way Alastor does it too makes me gag in disgust. He's just overall mean, rude, and a dickhead. You can't really call him mysterious or enjoy him as a character bc how you know he just wants power. We already know what he's going to do. Even though he was not supposed to be this predictable. And that's boring.

Pilot Charlie WAS like this- she could still be a bit naive, but she clearly knew how bad things were in Hell and that she couldn't trust everyone. It's just viv erased all nuance from Charlie once the show was actually written
It doesn't make sense for Charlie to be naive about how horrible sinners are since she's over 200 years old and grew up in Hell. She's witnessed how heinous they can genuinely be, but she always acts surprised that they can be so cruel. Charlie’s nativity is the most unrealistic thing about her character because it doesn’t fit the setting she’s in.
If she were like Emily, an angel who grew up in Heaven, then it would’ve made sense for her to be so naive. Imagine growing up in paradise and being surrounded by good people, many of whom are just as oblivious as you to the cruelty that’s being committed by the higher-ups. It makes sense for Emily to be naive, even thinking sinners are “innocent” people and pitying them because she doesn’t know just how awful many of them are.
Instead of making Charlie naive, Vivziepop should’ve made her fully aware of how vile her citizens are, but she still thinks that with the right help and guidance, she could redeem them. She’s still against Heaven’s genocide of sinners because she believes it's inhumane for angels to kill them. Charlie's optimism could be mistaken for nativity by opposers of her redemption idea.

You know what I don’t get about Poison? It’s an attempt at a pop hit. It has a constantly repeated chorus with little variation, doesn’t forward the plot, is general enough to have been a fansong rather than part of the plot, literally rips off a fan made pop song, has a living tombstones remix, is a single on spotify, its literally a pop song with none of the qualities of a show tune, it’s like Hazbin hotel is trying to make the rape song a radio hit.
Why? Addict was a pop song but it wasn’t also a show tune, and it wasn’t about rape, it was about Angel as a character and his life, and there was a sense of melancholy but not that of being a rape victim.
I get the idea of poison, it’s basically “all you wanna do” with less satirical edge and a more serious tone, but it’s just handled so weirdly.

After watching mostly of helluva boss and some of Hazbin hotel I can say for sure that the biggest problem with the vivzie verse it's that miss medrano clearly wanted to make a seth McFarlane style of edgy adult comedy but also a Steven universe style of politically correct lovey dovey lesson of the day show so now she attracted both type of fans and they are tearing each other online like this is civil war
In other words she tried to make family guy for white liberals and caused world war three

beelzebub has the design that bothers me the most out of any other character in both helluva boss AND hazbin hotel... i actually like most of vivzie's designs >_>;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
she's simultaneously drunk and high 24/7 and babies the hellhounds constantly. i love her. didn't even mean to do this when i was designing her, but her hair looks like cotton candy, so i'm saying that it was definitely 100% on purpose and a reference to her song!!!!

Oh geez I. Entirely misread the context of this whoops- no yea I agree with you here, apologies have a good day
JFC- is there anyone in the Hazbin/HB crit community that isn't a massive hyprocrite? You deadass can't look at me in the eyes and tell me that Vivziepop is the anti Christ for creating Valentino, when you LITERALLY ship/do the same bullshit with different characters from a different TV show/movies. Nah ah. Sit your ass down.

Screw it, I'll add my opinion on this.
I don't care that Viv and Raph have noncon kinks. It's not my thing, but if they kept it in the bedroom I wouldn't care.
If.
The issue isn't that they have these kinks, it's that they let it infect their "serious" work. Hazbin is supposed to portray Angel's assault as an awful, disgusting thing- but Viv and ESPECIALLY Raph can't stop getting their rocks off to it, both in and out of the show itself.
Do I think you can have a noncon kink and still explore SA tastefully? Sure! Most people with kinks are able to put them in their back pocket when it comes time for stuff like this. Not Spindlehorse though, who lets someone who made rape kink porn of an abusive couple write the script/storyboard the episode ABOUT said couple, which also happens to include dialogue from/scenes inspired by said rape kink comics!
Viv and Raph do not care about Angel's assault as the awful thing it is- it's just jerk off fuel for them.
FOR THE RECORD: I do not LIKE Chai. I have NOT liked chai for a good long while. But while I think he's an awful person, Viv, Raph, and their portrayals of SA ain't perfect either.

i think vivs characters would look better with ears espcially imps
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A lot of the characters in these shows not having ears does bother me, but I don't think imps look better with them personally. The hair -> horns design thing they have gets broken up by an ear and it throws everything off for me. Maybe someone else has a better take on it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vaggie and Carmilla look so much better with ears though imo. Even just the faint implication of ears for Vaggie works wonders. I could take or leave charlie.
Thanks for asking!! :]

Just saw that post with anon trying to defend Viv's shit world building about the Hellaverse, so how about this for an idea? In my own lil rewrite, sinners are able to traverse the rings of Hell, but only in accordance to their sins in life. I've had this idea that committing sin in the first place is already an act of pride "against God"; a sense of betterness, and feeling like they don't have to follow the heavenly laws. (idk if there's a god in Hazbin), so they're automatically sent to Pride. But if another sin, such as Envy, took up the bulk of their life and defined their actions as a person, they would be able to travel between the Envy and Pride rings. I think it makes a bit more sense than sinners being stuck in Pride for...whatever reason. This decision definitely wasn't inspired by the Catholic faith, since the rings don't exist there. So if Viv's inspo was the Divine Comedy...it still doesn't make sense, because the sinners there are stuck in the rings that are tied to their sin in life. Like cmon it takes five minutes of google searching to get this kind of info, why was this not elaborated on in the show???
I spent entirely too much time on this lmao
That's a lot better and makes more sense than what Viv came up with. Good rewrite.

Charlie Morningstar Redesign
Tumblr media
Initially I wanted to keep Charlie's design mostly the same, just changing her outfit and adding more goat themed features, but she kinda got away from me. I'm really happy with how she turned out! Though I might end up going a different direction with my rewrite project.
A few notes under the cut!
I do really love the apple theming with a golden apple. Yellow is such a bright happy color and I think Charlie wearing it works super well. I imagine Vaggie calling her Sunshine as a pet name.
I like the idea of Charlie being inspired by Disney princesses and I thought Beauty and the Beast's story has some neat themes of redemption, punishment, and caring for others being a drive to change.
I love goat features a lot, I tried to also get sheep in there for the whole sacrificial lamb biblical motif. Fun!
Also, I'm no animator. No clue if this would be easier or harder to animate.

Emily
If Vivziepop wanted to write a REAL critique of Christianity (instead of a show misrepresenting and shitting on it) she would have made Emily the main character
A demon suffering at the hands of Christianity? It's fine, but boring
A seraphim who is a devout Christian suffering at the hands of Christianity because of the hypocritical nature of some extreme Christians? SO interesting.
I thought of this listening to "You Didn't Know" from Episode 6.
"Was talk of virtue just pretension? Was I too naive to expect you to heed the morals you're purveying?" and "If Angels can do whatever and remain in the sky. The rules are shades if gray when you don't do as you say" really made me realize how great if a premise this would be.
Emily is a fucking Seraphim. She's not just extremely Christian: She's an angel. She has a reason to be naive, she grew up in paradise. She genuinely believes everyone's good because that's all she's ever known. She's never experiences hardship, and neither has anyone around her. You know she'd be furious to find out about the exterminations: "Why are "innocent" people having to suffer." She'd want to help others live the wonderful life she's lived. She might help them as an angel, but I think it'd be even more interesting for her to become a fallen angel. Imagine. She lives her whole life a perfect Christian. A perfect angel. A by-the-book girl. A rule following, Bible following good person. She tries to help people from being slaughtered and gets sent to Hell. It doesn't matter how much of a Christian she was, because she went against those in charge of Heaven (similarly to how you can be a Christian, but are ostracized if you go against the Church). She would either get Heaven to change, and be invited back into Heaven, or she would work to create a better Hell as some sort of ruler. She has infinitely more motives than Charlie, and her naivety has more reason. She would know better how to help people become better people. Emily's journey from being a well respected and influential seraphim to a disowned and ostracized fallen angel would be so interesting to see, much more interesting than the mess we got with Charlie
