so i just hit the big 600. not quite 666 but close enough for me to be ecstatic! genuinely a lot of the blogs are from an old rp group i was a part of, but it’s a milestone and there are so many new people that i’ve met through this blog and have gotten to really cleanse and enjoy myself writing a character i love very much, who’s one of the closest to my heart. writing percy is really therapeutic for me a lot of the time, and being validated on a lot of my headcanons ( especially because i write percy so specifically as a Really Explicitly diverse character ) and written with / spoken to enthusiastically is such a blessing. i love you guys so much and if i could do special mentions for each and every single one of you, i would… but i have a midterm tomorrow so i’m gonna keep it straight and to the point.

please know that i care for u all very deeply – this blog really quickly became a safe space for me and it’s really special! if you ever need me for anything i might be able to help you with, whether that’s someone to talk and distract you or vent to, i’ll happily be there as soon as i can. as i like to say…. you. are. valid! but anyway, i’ve become close to a lot of you and there’s a lot i want to say; please take this as a sign of all my love in the world. i’m always thinking of you and wishing the best for you! you’re so special to me and you always make a difference.

What inspired you to take on your current muse (that you are posting this on): i fell in love with automata and 9s’ character as a whole and have been familiar with nier for literally forever but, tbh, i was on the fence between picking up either him or 2b so i rolled dice and went with him!

What are your favorite aspects of your current muse: i love...literally everything about him, his personality is just really cute to me + hes cute

What’s your biggest inspiration when it comes to writing: music i guess? i usually just write whether i feel like it or not cos if i waited for motivation/inspiration i would never write.

The biggest struggle in regards to your current muse: errr don’t really have any honestly? it’s pretty easy to write his dialogue for the most part, it’s just sitting down and writing that i have the most difficulty with. i also have to revisit canon often cos my memory is not the best and i forget stuff easily

Kat: Holds his hand so hard tbh

The time he’s spent with her stacked up quickly, in between missions with 2B, curiosity about her making him want to ask more questions about her – what she remembers, what she’s thinking, how she feels about something. He leaves it all off somewhere else, though, picking up bits and pieces of how she reacts towards particular things and forming general ideas based off that. She was expressive ( more than he’s used to, and he’s happy that he can be too without worry ), she showed him things she thinks he’d like, and ultimately her company grew to be something he didn’t want to be without.

He’s too focused on the species of plants they discovered together, noting little details about them with the thought of looking them up in the database for more information – and she grabs him by the hand. It takes him by surprise, a foreign touch from something that doesn’t involve checking the settings of or a hit from an enemy, so he appreciates it more than he should.

If he thinks about it too much he feels like he might overheat.

❝ L-look over here, I don’t think we’ve seen those types of birds before either. We’re really lucky today, huh? ❞ lips curved with shyness, he laces their fingers together.

A light laugh escapes his chest, cheeks flushing slightly more than they usually do with 8S around. It kicks up his heart rate, he notes, and it’s happened enough times by now for him to gauge exactly why. Rubbing a thumb against a hand with attempts to make it a little less obvious that he’s embarrassed, something else to focus on in his head while he looks up at him. He’s already going against regulations; isn’t it worth it for moments like this?

He’s thankful for the opportunity to touch him.

Mystifying doesn't begin to cover the events between stumbling across a body, to glimpses at the notebooks that he wants to look at more than just a few between brief analysis from his Pod, to her ripping off the blindfold to look at him. It takes a second to process, but he still lets out an 'uh', confusion settling on his features and taking up whatever train of that he had before.

Well, it's easy enough to pick up where she starts and to go from there.

❝ Er, Kat? That's... kind of unusual, I guess? What kind of model are you? ... Well, I can check that later, but either way, my name's 9S. Your vocal functions are intact from the sounds of it... ❞ he's more intrigued than anything, by the figure who moments ago didn't seem like she'd react to his prodding, much less speak to him ( he's relieved, frankly, but questions tumble one after the other and he’s not sure where to really start -- if he should ) ❝ you're... 'awake,' so I'm going to run some more thorough diagnostics on you, if that's okay. I need to check for hardware issues and any abnormalities that may have occurred to your processors while you were powered down. But, uh, I can't do it without permission, sooo... ❞

More specifically, he wants to make sure she wasn't affected by any viruses that could have potentially gripped onto her while she wasn't conscious. Although unlikely, it's best to be safe. It’s the general idea that androids, machines, buildings, general structures can all degrade over time, with or without help. He could also only assume information before she woke up, but now that she is he hopes to get more out of her than guesses and vague hypothesis -- without overwhelming her, of course.

If it’s so easy—If in the corner of the forest kingdom, hidden behind trees and drooping branches, there’s a room with mountains of papers, tools, and a single still body. If in that room, there are notebooks filled with research on humans and their ways, and the promise to make her as human as possible. If among those notes she’s just sitting there, slumped over on her knees with her head down, finished and ready to be rebooted with the single flick of a switch—then why hasn’t he done it? Why does it take a stranger to bring his creation to life?

There’s a sharp intake of breath, breath that doesn’t really go anywhere but that she feels she has to have nonetheless. Her first thought is that she can’t see anything, and hands scramble to tug at the blindfold that’s covering her eyes. When it comes away she jumps, because she doesn’t even have sensors to detect that someone’s there, she has to see him first. He looks young.

❝Oh—❞ She’s confused, doesn’t really know what to say because this wasn’t how opening her eyes for the first time was supposed to go. ❝My name is Kat…❞
