What was once designed to unite the town and bring wealth now divides it and many have found that not all that glitters is gold.

Wow did life get crazy for a few weeks there for pretty much everyone involved in Aldridge Bay however I am hopeful that it is settling back down for most of us.
We are still taking a relaxed approach to activity as long as we know what is happening for people as we all get back onto our feet after such a crazy spell. This would be a great time to come and join us and build your character from the beginning. We have bios which are available or you are welcome to bring your own muse and admin would be happy to help with bios or fcs.

Nestled on the coastline, not far from the city of Eugene, Oregon lies the pretty town of Aldridge Bay. Once a simple, quiet town it was transformed more than sixty years ago when a group of the most prominent town families came together and built a boardwalk attraction.
Every year hundreds of tourists visit the attraction and additional staff flood into the area to help run the hotels, food stalls and the rides themselves. For the summer months the town transforms into a bustling playground before returning to a more sedate pace of life.
Now however the town is at a crossroads. The boardwalk is still an attraction but business is very seasonal and one bad season could wipe out it’s value. Some in the town love the boardwalk for its charm, the business it brings to all aspects of the town and of course the actual entertainment value. Equally there are those opposed to it. They believe it brings nothing but trouble, crime increases in the summer and the ecological damage cannot be forgotten.
Which group do you side with? Would Aldridge Bay really be the same without the boardwalk? What would the town become without this attraction?
One thing is for sure, life in Aldridge Bay is always entertaining.

Wow it is amazing how time flies right now. With our members getting back into a more regular work pattern and in some cases back into lockdown and uncertainty we are taking a very relaxed approach to the rp right now. That doesn’t mean we aren’t still here and open but we have currently suspended activity checks and we are more focused on supporting each other ooc.
That all being said we will absolutely be stepping activity back up hopefully in about a month and we would love some more characters to interact with. The pace will be slow right now but we still very much believe in the rp and are still around to write.

What kind of open jobs are there in this rp for ocs?
Hi anon, thank you for the question.
In terms of jobs pretty much characters can do any job you would like. There are lots of jobs available in the town and there are lots of opportunities at the boardwalk as well. The city of Oregon is within commuting distance from Aldridge Bay and that opens up many other possibilities for jobs with larger organisations too.

Can I only apply for a tourist during a certain time or are they available whenever?
Hi Anon and thank you for the question.
You can apply for tourists or seasonal staff at any time. The only difference is between them and locals is that a tourist can only be in play for one month and seasonal staff for three months. You are welcome to change them to a local if you find you have a good connection with them however.

I have just caught up on my replies which is always a great feeling. We have lots of open fcs and a choice of writing your own original character or picking up one of the open bios.

Thank you for that fabulous question anon. Personally I would love to see some characters who are against the boardwalk and have strong, vocal opinions about the issues it causes the town. We could really do with some male and non-binary characters.
