Amen Dunes
Death Jokes
====
Experimental guiatar, synth-pop, alt-pop, and electronic with airey vocals overtop. From Damon McMahon. There are just a lot of loops within each track. There are a couple of good tracks of things I would listen to again, but with 14 of them it doesn't work as well for me.

Like Moths To Flames
The Cycles Of Trying To Cope
====
Newest metalcore release and this would be a great introduction to anyone who wants to get into the metalcore and deathcore genres. It hits absolutely everything it's supposed to. The breakdowns are heavy and there is some great breath and space where it doesn't feel overwhelming. Vocals hit a really nice pitch in my ears.

ILOVEMAKONNEN
NOT MY MAKONNEN EP
====
Hoes 4' is an aweful track, but a nice rebound with Tisha Talk. I really think that he made this in 30 minutes, but not in a good way. Basically if you put someone in a studio and said you have a half-hour to write lyrics this is what you would get.

Knocked Loose
You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To
====
They already released 3 tracks as singles before the album which is only 10 tracks and no new artwork which is a bit disappointing. This was clearly a money play as for some reason they got anointed the only mainstream metal band performing at festivals and that everyone seems to now agree upon and get behind. This album itself is exactly what I would have expected from a Knocked Loose sinceI've been listening to them back in 2016 with 'Laugh Tracks'. Although they've been good back then I definitely didn't predict their come-up like they've had. It felt like overnight that everyone was all over them. I'm glad to see that they haven't really abandoned any of their roots as this album is still has hard as ever and has minimal collaborations. It's hard to picture where they go from here; time will tell.

OT The Real
ZOMBIE
====
Collab album with Araabmuzik & Black Soprano Family (Benny the Butcher and friends). I was hoping this would be more focused on OT and Araabmuzik, but it's definitely more lyrically focused. Overall this is a good collab album where everyone here benefits. This is missing a track from Wiki--I feel like the track 'Blood Stains' would be perfect for him. For the record, the album artwork and even the title make absolutely zero sense for anyone.

Pronounced "howdy". More indie rock coffeeshop music from Austin (of course) by current members Charlie Martin and Will Taylor. The tracks are short even though there are 19 of them. I read that they have been making music together since 2014, but have broken up multple times. This seems to be a kick-off of the next phase of their music being that it's self-titled. I haven't listened to their earlier work, but this seems like a nice introduction for me. The composition and songwriting is well done, an album hard to hate.

Jessica Pratt
Here in the Pitch
====
Coffeeshop rainy day music. I did not know much about Jessica upon first listening, but she's primarily known as a folk artist. Every track here takes you really on a separate yet binding journey. I typically don't listen to this type of music, but the talent really breaks through. The instruments of light drums and guitars really just complement her voice so well. At the end it really just makes me feel good.

I think she's trying too hard on this album. Her voice doesn't have the range that she's seeking and it doesn't come off as well as I think she anticipated. I'm certainly a Willow and Jayden fan even though there is some serious nepotism going on. Her style comes through on ironically 'false self'.

Goddess Wept EP

Lead singer from Chelsea Grin. This is a 6 track EP. A very well produced and flowing metalcore/deathcore EP. Makes me want much more. The riffs and breakdowns are punishing and there are multiple screaming vocals on here that complement each other really well.

Rock band from Tokyo that formed back in 1987. This is their album from 1996. This is actually really impressive and progressive for the time. I obviously don't know the lyrics for this, but the rhythm, cadence and pitch would all still be relevant today too. Funky alt rock. Pretty great stuff and would encourage people to give this a go.

Full of Hell
Coagulated Bliss
====
This is the really the first time I've listened to the band's project before. Hardcore and has some good breakdowns, although it's missing something. It's pretty basic and standard from what I would expect from this genre. They have been putting out good quality music for a while; I specifically remember their 2017 album 'Trumpeting Ecstasy' which put me on.

A Chaos of Flowers

From Montreal. I haven't heard an album like this in a while. It's super slow grungy/doom type of rock/metal that is super experimental. It lacks that signature track or movement that takes it to that next tier of a project in my opinion.

This is the prefect album for any mood. So much range and really has something for everyone who's a fan of her work. It's certainly her best album since her self-titled one back in 2015. I've listened to this three times straight through on repeat.

Justice
Hyperdrama
====
I love the first track with Tame Impala. It's exactly where everything fits perfect in the middle. The absolute best of both Justice and Tame--an all time collaboration. However, the rest of the album is missing something. It's definitely a high quality electronic album, Justice shines through and you can definitely tell that it's unique to them, however it did not get to that next level for me.

Darkthrone
It Beckons Us All
====
Formed in 1986 from Norway--such an old school black metal. I notice many different influences such as death metal, power metal and sludge at times. I listen to this in a different way than I do modern bands. There is alot to like in this and Darkthrone continues to make relevant heavy music. It's exactly what I was hoping from a lenendary band like this.

Thom Yorke
Confidenza Original Soundtrack
====
As a Thom fan I always enjoy when he works on new projects. Being as objective as possible here this one although complex doesn't do much in regards to moving the listener. There are elements of some smooth jazz horns and string instruments with Thom vocals on a few tracks, but overall I don't think the soundtrack adds much value.
