Oh, and this is what the original Fabulous Felines line looks like, if anyone’s curious!

Ngl, I’ve held off on posting them for a while because they’re uncommon enough that I was worried if they became any less-obscure, they’d be a lot harder for me to get—but now that I have as many of them as I’m planning on getting for now, I can gush about them openly! They’re so cute and I adore them. Their cards are full of funny lines (Meeskite, the mouse, is “today’s modern street-smart punkyness” and her favorite movie is “Tom and Jerry go Punk”), and confusing bits (Remington, the dark brown one, is canonically a Republican????). Their quality is middling. There’s contradictory information about them online and very little real information about their production and distribution. (GhostoftheDoll has the most info of any site).

And I love them with my whole heart 😄

Finally figured out how to make a Mistoffelees design I’m happy with! Apparently the key ingredient to making him feel like Misto instead of just a random black cat—-sparkles ✨💖

He joins the Cats the Musical customs gang! Next up (and the only other cat I currently have plans for)—Tugger, of course.

Friends, romans, countrymen, fellow doll collectors.

I’ve been thrifting and regularly shopping on Mercari and eBay for quite some time. I’ve found a lot of great deals. I’ve bought a lot of things that make me very happy for great prices.

This? This takes the cake.

I mean, you can already see why I’m excited. She’s still in her box, and although there’s light wear, she’s in pretty darn good condition.

But just wait.

….THIS is what she usually sells for. And you may notice that that’s not even the same version, the sold listings are for the American version. The one I have is the Canadian version, which I can find absolutely zero listings for, but international variants usually sell for more, sometimes significantly more, than their American counterparts.

(And it’s not just that she comes with a different box—you can see the colors of her gymnast bar are reversed!)

My fellow doll collectors.

The price I got her for? $14.

Excuse me while I go hyperventilate and cry happy tears and make squealing sounds at ungodly high frequencies for a while.

Can’t believe I’ve gone from being someone who had never owned a propeller cap to finding not one but two at thrifts in the course of a couple weeks….never give up on your dreams….

More dolls that I got recently but haven’t shown here!

I’ve never particularly collected Madame Alexander, but I recently discovered that they’ve made some charmingly weird dolls. I got these for a good deal from a very sweet seller on Mercari.

They’re so fun! I hope I can find them in the wild someday. If anyone knows of more Madame Alexander dolls like these, please let me know!

My first of the 28” voltageous ghoulfriend dolls!

(I think that’s what they’re called, right? I’m too lazy to google rn)

I already own a 28” Skelita, who I love, so I was glad to see that this one is very similar! She even has the eye-color-switching mechanism, too. It’s such a fun gimmick!

The nonbending knees with fake knee joints is such a funny choice. I don’t love it, but I suppose it’s to avoid damaging the doll by stressing those joints. Why even bother sculpting the fake joints, though??

She also has a very visible scalp line. I’m not sure why.

But overall, she’s gorgeous!! Sorry…gore-geous! This is Monster High, after all.

Aaand I now have more dolls….

I didn’t even WANT any of them except the baby doll, I inquired about their prices and the lady at the counter just started ringing them up and they were too busy and I felt too bad to tell her I didn’t actually want them for those prices….

Ah well. They’re cute, at least. They’re all from the mid 90s, and were part of a huge selection of mostly Madame Alexander dolls there. The big Effanbee is a mid-90s reproduction of a 40s doll.

I almost forgot to finish this up! Coconut Cream and G3.5 Rainbow Dash.

It’s funny, there are a lot of things that I don’t really like when they’re new but like once they’re older. Pure silliness on my part, of course. But G3.5 is one of those. I’d hate these if they came out today, but since they’re defunct, I think they’re kinda charming.

They will take longer to go through than the last lot, they don’t have the flaws of the last lot like missing tails, but they have a lot more play wear. So brushing them out and wiping them down will take some time.

Rainbow Swirl and Wysteria. Wysteria had such gorgeous curls but they were badly tangled and had to be brushed out, and now her hair looks so messy….I need to recurl it, I think. She’s such a lovely pony. G3 was the MLP line in stores when I was growing up, and Wysteria was one of the ones I dreamed about but never got. And now I have her! And such a pretty version, too. The cutie mark looks beautiful like this.

Rainbow Swirl’s pose is great. I wonder why they only used it for one pony?

Banjo Blue and Tropical Surprise. I think those specks on Banjo will come out with a bit more scrubbing, I’m just limited in my mobility by the small puppy perched on my lap during this haha.

Banjo Blue is charming, I wasn’t familiar with her. Tropical Surprise is one that’s always caught my eye, and she seems to pop up in lots often—or perhaps it just seems that way because she has such an eye-catching color scheme. I really like her!

Moonstone and Butterscotch! It turns out these 2 are modern repros, not originals. I didn’t realize that when buying them, but I don’t mind, they’re actually quite convincing repros! Moonstone is from 2017 and Butterscotch is from 2007.

Moondancer, Sunbeam, and Twilight. Man, I hate this pose. It looks like they’ve been squished!

Cute designs, though.

I think Sunbeam is the only one out of this lot that I wasn’t familiar with, but they’re all new to my collection. They’ll get wiped down, brushed out, and then I just need to find room on the shelf!
