I’m literally so stupid I didn’t realize the brand of paints I’m using meant THE Holbein like
I was recommended the brand and the thought “I know that name! That’s an artist!” flitted through my brain, then passed out my ear. I’ve known about this artist for almost 2 decades. I’ve been using these paints on and off for over a year now. It wasn’t until I did a major study of his work while using the paints simultaneously that I put it together like WAIT THEY MEAN THE HANS HOLBEIN

A little celebratory painting in honor of Anne of Cleves' Hans Holbein portrait being cleaned
People often were not completely static sitters for their artists. They were also often played music, read to, and spoken with to help pass the time. Anne of Cleves, like many women of the era, was a fine sewist, but she may have also whiled the hours away practicing English for her prospective new husband or being taught court etiquette.
William Kay Blacklock's "The Lesson" was somewhat referenced for proper hand anatomy, as the main reference for this was the Hans Holbein portrait itself. Blacklock actually had two very similar paintings, which would have been even more useful to me had I discovered it earlier. The Second is "The Window."
Edit: Better photo

Recently I’ve been working to up my game a bit on my technical skills. I made a sketchbook from some left over higher quality paper and busted out my anatomy resources. And of course, referencing the newly cleaned Holbein portrait of Anne of Cleves.

A triumphant return
Was inspired by some of JC Leyendecker's early medieval paintings. It's always nice to take a little break and study.

Anyway so I’m going to make it my crusade to try and at least speak with someone about the Col-Erase availability thing
I really think a lot of us are missing out on a product I know a lot of people used professionally and as beginners
Maybe we can even make a swap program or something if it doesn’t go anywhere. I have a lot of colors that I just don’t use and would be totally willing to trade
Either way I’m trying to get their attention on my insta so if you want to see that nonsense my @ is adderstonesart
Yeah

I went on Prismacolor’s website in their Col-Erase listing and the comments are just other professional artists begging and pleading for them to sell singles of every color again. Ten to twenty poor souls in the same predicament I find myself. I have never felt so connected to strangers on the internet so much I feel this in my soul. I went to Ebay like some of the comments were suggesting and did manage to find a couple greys, but not black. Please. Please almighty Prismacolor bring back the Col-Erase pencils in singles again. In my youth, I could walk into a Michaels and buy them without another thought. Now I can barely find them on reseller sites.
