The fact that Mark Cuban can do this is just further proof of how much capatalism is f*cking people over.
Billionaire investor Mark Cuban launched an online pharmacy Thursday that offers more than 100 generic drugs at an affordable price with a goal of being “radically transparent” in its price negotiations with drug companies.
For example, the leukemia drug imatinib is priced at $47 a month on MCCPDC compared to the $9,657 retail price.
The online pharmacy’s prices for generics factor in a 15% margin on top of actual manufacturer prices and a $3 pharmacist fee, the statement said.
After losing power last week Tuesday due to Ice Storm. I finally have power again. Hooray!! Hopefully the rest of our county has power restored by noon tomorrow. God bless the Linemen!!
I have a theory about Picard season 3. During Nemesis, Shinzon had sex with Beverly. His viceroy, got in her head(like he did with Deanna) made her think it was Jean-luc. Later after Beverly returned to Medical and Jean-luc had left with the Enterprise, she discovered she was pregnant. She called up Jean-luc and said, hey you remember that night after I took the sample from Shinzon? He replied, yes I'm sorry I stood you up that night. I was having trouble dealing with the whole clone business and thought I wouldn't be good company. We never did manage to get together afterwards with all that happened. I promise to make it up to you. Beverly realizes there is something rotten in Denmark and says, oh, that's o.k. gotta let you go, another call coming in. Good-bye Jean-luc. She quickly comes to the conclusion that it must have been Shinzon. After tossing her cookies she imagines the repercussions this will cause, being pregnant by a clone of Jean-luc. Genetically this is Jean-luc's baby and she thought she was making love with Jean-luc. She can't get rid of the baby because of this and because its not her way. She decides she has to leave to protect Jean-luc and the baby. Now, The kid is mad I believe #1- because he feels like Jean-luc abandoned his mother. If he really loved Beverly, he should have found her after she left. #2- The kid may know how he came to be and holds Jean-luc responsible. He feels Jean-luc should have known Shinzon would go after Beverly because Jean-luc was in love with her and Jean-luc should have been protecting her. Let me know what YOU think.
Yep. Think so too. I'd bet it happened right after Nemesis. The morning after the night before, Picard gets cold feet about a relationship. Left the bed while Bev was still asleep, then basically cold shouldered her and tells her he can't get involved in a relationship. She takes off. Eventually discovers the tiny stow away. Doesn't tell Picard because "he's not ready"...... The communicator going off in the first teaser, I think it's Beverly!
...calling it now. Beverly and picard have a secret love child....that picard knows nothing about
If a man holds a door open for me or pulls back a chair so that this old bag can sit down, I’m delighted. Women who moan and carp about that sort of thing are stupid.
- Dame Diana Rigg
What is it that makes Emma Peel so heart-stopping in the cult British tv show The Avengers? Granted, young Diana Rigg was absolutely gorgeous, and the costume department provided her with a striking, iconic wardrobe. But the real factors that contributed to the success of the Peel character – and of the Peel/Steed team – were probably two, strictly intertwined.
The Emma Peel character is wonderfully designed – she is a strong independent woman - unlike today’s woke feminism she doesn’t have to say it, she just is - and a perfect foil for Steed. Her dialogue is sparklingly written, and her smooth, elegant moves came together in creating an alluring, credible character.
The chemistry between Steed and Peel – and between Macnee and Rigg – was also essential. This is not meant as a way to downsize the work Diana Rigg and the writers did, but really the character Emma Peel works so well because she is part of a couple, she is half of a greater hero.
The result of placing Rigg and Macnee together on screen is a joy to behold: there’s the fun, the fast banter and the jokes, the perfect timing and the relaxed self-assuredness of two dancing partners, and also a subtle, inobstrusive sexual tension that the viewers can get – if they are old enough – and appreciate.
The exact nature of the relationship between Peel and Steed – apart from avenging crime and pursuing increasingly surreal bad guys – is never made explicit.
They hang out together, they drink tea and champagne, they chatter amiably and joke together.
It’s elegant, rarefied, classy, and - in retrospect - somewhat sexy.
