To the south west, the colorful and eclectic kingdoms in San Lorenzo have beautiful architecture, expansive cities, wild jungles, expansive deserts, cool beaches, and much, much more. There are always new discoveries in San Lorenzo, both with their newly emerging art styles, found in their building structures and within their intricate museums, and their convergence of technology with magic. Centuries ago, long before anyone who is currently alive remembers, the four Fae courts were divided by the War of Seasons. Now, the four courts of Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter are currently at peace. All Fae are born into one of these courts - and Fae whose lineage comes from two or more courts can only pledge their abilities to one. Fae are inherently magical, but that magic is impossible to harness without an oath to a court. Resilient beings, they are found throughout the lands and are capable of making a home nearly anywhere. Not all Fae are the expected winged being - Mermaids are also considered Fae, though their homes are made in the water or along the coastline and, rather than wings, their legs form a fishtail.

Other than Faeries, these creatures predate nearly everything else, and yet, their existence is few and far between. Because of their extensive lifespan, there’s not much need to reproduce quickly - the only way for Bogeymen to be created. Most live out their days among humans. THey lack physical bodies and require one as a host. With their expansive knowledge, they are capable of adapting into any society. Despite this ability, known Bogeymen are seldom welcome in any kingdom. Regardless of their intentions, either good or bad, their reputation is tarnished because of their diet - consuming large amounts of flesh every other decade or so. Among other ‘undesirable’ species who are unwelcome for similar eating habits, Bogeymen are often considered their unofficial ‘leader’.

Never born, these creatures are only created through a mix of nature and magic. In nature, a toxic but magical black poppy grows over graves of decaying bodies. If the flower ( the seeds, petals, and leaves ) is consumed in its entirety, there is a high chance of death because of how rapidly the toxin works. There is a very small chance that the individual who consumed the flower will then return to life as a Ghoul. Overall, they are resilient creatures and are often considered the “Cockroach of the Undead” because they consume dead and decaying flesh, and they are nearly impossible to kill, the only ways in which that can be done is through decapitation or fire. While most can be seen alone in graveyards, there are some Ghoulish communities. Those who crave more power may seek out a Bogeyman to align themselves with.
