[Hello! Mun speaking, here. I’ve noticed a general decline in RP etiquette in the community lately. I’m not pointing fingers, because it’s just a general thing that’s more ignorance than people being rude. It’s an easy fix.

Even if you are an experienced RPer, please take the time to read through the following so that you’re sure you’re up-to-date with proper RP etiquette. And if you’re new or unsure then please read them. It only takes a bit of your time and it ensures a better RPing experience for the RP community or communities that you’re in. Thanks and here you go!

RP Pro Tips - Concise, one-sentence graphics for different RP rules and general etiquette with detailed explanations in the captions. At least look at all of them (you don’t have to read the details). No. Really. Look at all of them because they’re all true and important yet these simple rules are what I see people neglecting the most.

Getting Started Dos and Don'ts - another helpful guide from rpprotips. Even has a TL;DR at the bottom if you’re in a rush.

RP Resources - does have some pages on etiquette, but also just helpful for when you don’t really know how to do something. Lots of helpful How To posts for RPers from basics to advanced things.

Every so often, we like to post reference resources for you lovelies to use, and the other day I was searching up some stuff and found these very helpful, so I decided to share them with you!

How to Make the Most Out of Your Starters so they’re not only easier to reply to and you get more out of them, but probably more fun in the long run! 

Resource 1

TL;DR- 

-Set a goal for the thread and the obstacles in the way.

-Use character quirks for someone to react to and explain the action.

-Make a cool place and throw people in it. 

-Throw people for a loop. (But in a good way)

*Is life usually sucky and sad? Try something upbeat!

-The replier helps with a throwaway deus ex machina to get the ball rolling

Resource 2

TL;DR-

-Is your starter Passive or Active?

-Passive starters require more thought on the repliers end and probably won’t last too long without much give

-Active Starters give motive and are thought provoking and propels the rp forward.

-The poster should lead, not the replier

*Poster: Gives “A”

Replier: Gives “A Response” and “B”

Poster: Gives “B Response” and “C”

So on and so forth
