Imagine Molly sailing as Kingsley, happily captaining a ship with his own name.

Imagine him coming home a few years down the line, having remembered and processed his memories on his own enough to feel like himself again, like a King.

Imagine him doing something crazy. Something stupid. Like "I'm stealing the plank king's treasure bc I fucking can." Stupid.

Imagine Molly taking a crown from the plank king's hoarde, fighting and laughing because this shit is insane and he can't wait to tell everyone-

And he looks down to see a sword through his chest.

And all he can think is- "Oh no...not again...please not again."

But he has a crew. And they defend their Captain. This time it isn't him alone. Or a last ditch resort. He's drug away and the sword is yanked out and healing magic is given to him, enough to stop the bleeding, to add another scar to his already scarred up chest.

Molly, looking at their healer and just grinning.

Imagine Molly faking Kingsley's death down the line, after he's pulled all the stunts he possibly can. His crew is in on it, they know who is taking his place. Molly's filled a bag of holding he stole from Fjord with coins, treasure, books, gifts, clothes, all his belongings.

Imagine Molly knocking on the door to the Lavish Chateau, having timed this to show up when he knows the Mighty Nein will be in town together. Word of the Infamous Kingsley's Demise has spread by now, but as Jester opens the door he just stands there, hands on his hips, in dual patterned leggings and an open billowy shirt, new tattoos to show off with new scars.

I love the journey Beau took and the results, but part of my heart will always belong to early, snarling Beau and how much she cared about people and the world, how much she'd learned to tell herself that was a bad thing because there's nothing worse than caring about something you're helpless to affect or control. She's always cared, and nobody's offered her the same. She's raw willpower, unrefined, all this kindness she's never been shown how to polish and display boiling over inside of her all the time and coming out a snarl - danger, stay back, you're not safe with me.

And the moment she begins to step into the power and experience training under Dairon gives her, the first thing she does, is use all of what she's learned to demonstrate to the motley crew she's running with how much she does care. It's all for them, no expectation of reciprocity to the point of detriment, but it's a little power and she's been dying for the chance to use it the way nobody else ever had.

And she has that in common with Caleb, that earnest desire to take every scrap of what she's uncovered and use it for the benefit of the people who give a shit about her. Caleb creates a safe place for them to sleep, directs his cat to give the affection he can't. All Beau has is her fists and her life, and for the first time she's found people worth fighting and dying for. She's first to take the hits and takes them gladly, and slowly expectation of dying evolves into expectation of living and - and then what, because she certainly hasn't thought this far ahead. She makes a pact with Caleb. She'll keep him from ever becoming the sort of person who used their authority to break him. She might not realize it in so many words, but Caleb does the same. They get each other.

Beau probably assumed, right, on some level that eventually she would become like her father, like anyone with authority. Tyrannical, forcing her will on other people's lives because that's what power does - it corrupts. It takes intentions and twists them and leaves someone capable of destroying someone else with a sincere declaration that this is because they love you.

If that was all Beau knew of love and power, god. No wonder she tried to leave after seeing her father, after that reminder. No wonder she refused to really embrace what it meant to be an Expositor until the Soul apologized and proved themselves better.

And it's in Beau facing her deepest fear of what she'll become that Yasha falls for her. Right there in Kamordah, raw and hurting and so, so afraid. Yasha looks at Beau at her most vulnerable and sees kindness and fierce will where Beau sees inevitable loss, and then... you make me feel safe.

Everything Beau has learned, all the power she's gained to take control over her own circumstances, and Yasha's the first thing she actively lets herself want - and, eventually, have. Which is handy, because Yasha's going on the same journey. They chose happiness and they chose each other - they chose to care, not because they were strong enough to defend themselves in case of harm, but because they came to understand that harm itself was not an inevitability to prepare for in the first place.

Early Beau refusing to be put in a position to take responsibility for anyone else or vice versa, Beau at the end understanding that love and possession are and have never been at all the same thing.

I personally found the wrap up suggestions a far more cosy ending than the finale actually!

In my head now the Mighty Nein all live on Rumblecusp, completely away from the continent they took by storm, a murmured legend far out on the seas.

Jester and Fjord still go out on sailing adventures, Beau runs the bar and has Yasha as the bouncer, Caleb as the accountant. They have a sister business of an exotic apothecary across the street. Kingsley constantly swings by there as his unofficial safe haven a few times a year, and keeps them supplied with completely legitimately acquired items and information. Caduceus uses Caleb's teleportation circle to keep their garden going whenever Essek kills a patch by accident.

The island is THE adventurer training hot spot, taught primarily by Caleb and Veth, as well as Beau who is a shockingly good teacher, all Empire legends in their own right, though no one quite knows how that happened. Fjord constantly comes back from his and Jester's adventures (they do have the most remaining enemies gunning for them after all) to dump batches of abused orphans who didn't want a normal life into the adventurer school. Those kids basically end up being raised by various members of the Nein. Marion and Babenon Dusol (the Gentleman having died long ago) eventually retire there, because it is oh-so-similar to another soothing beach front, and the Nein build Marion a home as close to the Chateau as they can get to keep her comfortable and close to her daughter.

It drives Darktow, The Dynasty, AND The Empire insane that the Nein have effectively created a completely independent island state that survives entirely off of crazy tourists (mostly young adventurers just getting their feet under them, who go there for training and exotic supplies, as well as to take a load off at the Beaurebar) that they have absolutely no sway over. The only reason it keeps existing is because the various political entities KNOW that if they fuck around, they'll find out.

The only ones who don't care are Tal'Dorei, because lol so what, Allura thinks they're cool, and Nicodranas, who's main political power is the guy they hauled out of not one but TWO magic bear traps.

Verin plays up his dumbassery to pretend he doesn't know EXACTLY where his brother's retired to, outside of the Empire and Dynasty's reach. He's constantly covered in sand. It drives the Dens nuts.

One by one, they still all end up buried in a tiny garden in a place called the Blooming Grove.

Caleb and Essek was already canon before episode 141 and in this finale they become an endgame relationship. Caleb has been canonically attracted to Essek for a while now (confirmed by talks machina and numerous in-game actions, but if you demand a kiss to show that attraction then I guess you don’t see it). Essek also showed his attraction through actions, words and gestures but never felt the need to outright declare or define their relationship (again, if you demand a love confession from him I guess you choose to ignore those). 

In the epilogue they went on a study trip by themselves, were “together for a while” and go on to be lifelong friends because they have different priorities and Essek is going to outlive Caleb by 600+ years, sounds very reasonable to me.

For people who think they are not canon… What is your definition of canon? That they kiss in game? That they have grand love confessions? That they stay together forever? That they get the “fade to black” in game? 

They clearly love each other and have a profound bond. They helped/saved each other, learned from/with each other and found happiness. If you refuse to see that as canon, feel free to do so but their countless acts of intimacy and love towards each other throughout the campaign and the epilogue are more than enough proof for me.
