Thanks! I used to on inprnt.... but then they stopped letting me and a ton of other people withdraw the share of the money we made so I pulled my art out LOL Maybe I'll do prints again one day but without using one of them platforms and just do my own online shop thing.

How do you draw backgrounds?? It always looks so good. And how long does it take you

Hey thanks! Sometimes I kinda just yolo it and do whatever kind of makes sense (especially if it's a comic, impressionistic strokes can get the job done pretty well since ppl are mostly gonna be concerned about what the little people in front of them are up to). In these kinds of bgs I try to spend no more than 10-20 minutes on them (much easier if it's a place I've already drawn or designed before).

If I'm tryharding it or have to design a place I just get a big pile of references from google earth, Pinterest, irl, other artists (for ideas on palettes + how to translate certain forms + structures into a drawing), etc. and collage it in my brain. I only really draw real life places that are usually accessible to me so I don't have to work as hard as fantasy/sci fi artists lol. This bg is based off of this stock photo and took me a couple days.

I think the most difficult thing about backgrounds in a style like mine is controlling the values to make the right parts pop out but still feel realistic, so it involves a lot flipping back and forth between grayscale to figure out what to do sometimes. But yeah! Don't have much else to say on bg's other than yolo more than you tryhard (or don't. Idk. Do what feels right!! Live your truth!!)

never had i considered using a liquify setting for ink bleed - how do you achieve that effect? :0

Not sure how it goes in other programs but for procreate it's liquify > crystals and then you can just scrub your entire piece for a nice jittery look (I also used it to make boiling frames for the background in latest animation instead of redrawing the same frame) it's a little unnoticeable from afar but in very textury pieces or stuff that's meant to look like traditional media I think it looks cool. not sure if this has been asked before but how did you come up with the comic that youre working on now? was it just an idea or story that was floating around in your head that you decided you just wanted to make and share with others one day (bc same) was it just two oc shenanigans that you liked a lot and thought that their dynamic would work very well if told through a comic format, or did the idea of making just making a comic come first before you came up with the idea for a plot? just curious abt the thought process since i plan on making a comic with my own characters as well ^_^ anyway, i love your characters theyre so entertaining whenever they show up on my feed lol

Thanks 🥹 (and gl with your comic!!) it's a little complicated lol the premise of TTB first came to be in a subplot for a different project (wannabe magnum opus rpg maker game I was rolling around in my head in 2018) and then I scrapped the idea. I really liked the subplot so I upcycled the story and characters into TTB and Nat + Regan. I just wanted to draw oc shenanigans with them but then the tryhard bug bit me again and now I'm making a webcomic. Here's some sketches of the original concept from way back when

Not really I'm so soo all over the place with my process so I haven't really gotten around to making much stuff about it but I'll pull out one of those auto speed paints from procreate for old time sake (⚠️ flash warning ⚠️ )

Did you draw this? I can't tell if it was done traditionally or digitally but I am enamoured with the texture. And it's just so cute look at it .

What art program do you use? And will you ever consider dropping the brushes that you used to make this ? 😊

Yes and yes! I made it on procreate, the brushes and textures I use and all that stuff can be found in my faq tag but for this piece I think I also went into procreates halftone effect thingy and applied it over parts of it. I also did liquify>crystals like I do with a lot of my other stuff to create an ink bleed effect

OMG i think im obsessed with TTB lately i have to ask do u have any voiceclaims for Regan and Nat (also Rabiel) ? Or at least any description of their voices ? Would love to hear them in my head they get me so normal hghghrhrr happy womens month

MWAHAHA.. ty and you're in luck I'm a little insane about this stuff. Regan has a husky but young sounding voice and speaks with a loosey goosey cadence to fit. She's very smiley and you can definitely hear it when she talks. A very close voiceclaim would be rio Romeo.

Nat has a higher voice than Regan's but has a sort of unfitting graveness to it, kinda like how the VA for clementine in the walking dead game tweaks her performance to make the character sound more serious and grown up in later seasons. She's got a bit of a mix between a standard US accent and a Singaporean accent so it's hard to find a voiceclaim for her, but in terms of her timbre and how she carries herself through speaking the Crane Wives' frontman is pretty much what I imagine.

Rabel is an interesting critter. I try to write his dialogue to sound the way an angel would talk and he'd have this three-part harmony voice going on, singing more than just speaking (ttb you are not immune to the queer media musical curse /j). It consists of a man's voice, a woman's voice and a child's voice. I don't have a vc for all three lol but hozier is one hundred percent what I think about when I imagine Rabel.

He's made out of several different animals and has been soaking in fruit juice since the dawn of time so I don't think he'd taste bad but he's also 10000 °F.
