Okey. I just looked at the Fandom Wiki, and I'm speculating as I go.

So that whole thing doesn't take place after Season 5. It takes long before then.

So the theory that he's crying about a previous loved one could be more applicable here.

Dose Aaravos care about Viren?

I just recently watched the clip about Aaravos Santa Clause crying and The Merfical One coming in to say some cripted shit. And it has me wondering, What was Aaravos crying about?

At first, I thought he was crying about losing his power, possibly before the events of the series. Or after season 5, when Viren died.

But then I Don't Want To Be Mercy came in and said "We're all held together by love, for an instant." So it's confirmed that this has something to do with love. But who was Aaravos' loved one?

My first thought is Viren, cause throughout the series, he's interacted with Viren the most. Plus I'm a Viravos shipper, so of course I'd think that.

Though the vibes I've gotten from this ship were that Aaravos and Viren didn't *actually* care for each other. I mean, they do care for each other. But just as business partners in crime. The most you get from "something more" is Aaravos playfully teasing Viren which comes off as flirty to me. And that "our son" bullshit Aaravos pulled. Viren doesn't care for Aaravos the same way he cares about Claudia, Soren, or Harrow. He cared about what Aaravos brought to the table. And Aaravos cared for what Viren brought to the table as well. I didn't get the vibe that Aaravos cared about Viren more then than that.

However, we've only seen their relationship from Viren's perspective. Maybe the reason why Aaravos came off as only caring about what Viren gave him was just how Viren saw the relationship. Maybe Aaravos did actually care about Viren. I'd be invested to see how Viren's death impacts Aaravos.

Though, Aaravos could possibly be crying over a previous loved one. Possibly a lover, possibly a close friend, possibly even a family member? I've been under the assumption that all the Startouched elves died out long ago, and that Aaravos was the only one. So if You Should've Picked Mercy is around, then this could take place before all the Startouched elves died off.

"elf sad" Clip Analysis!!!

(I don't know what else to call it, that is literally the caption for the video T_T)

TDP finally posted the clip from s6e1 where Aaravos sobs into the water, so let's analyze it!!

The first thing I want to point out is the reflection symbolism and ripples symbolism. In Ripples (the short story), we get the following line:

In other words, ripples ruin the reflection of the stars. (Tangentially related, but we have also seen many occasions of Aaravos himself ruining reflections, which I've written about here). However, in this scene, we first have view of the water, and the tears hitting the water. Aaravos then appears on the screen, first as a reflection that is blurred by the ripples created by his tears. The camera only pans up to the reflection's caster later in the scene.

AKA, the ripples are CREATING the reflection of a star.

I also love the way that he looks at his reflection, and then looks away towards the stars when he finds that he's not glowing. It appears to me to be a mix of guilt and anguish. The fact that he can't bear to look at his own reflection and looks to the stars instead is... interesting.

Another thing that I think is worth pointing out in this clip is the Rayllum parallels with Aaravos and the Merciful One. This scene is so similar to the scene in The Midnight Desert when Rayla was self deprecating and looking at the water, and Callum was telling her to shut up.

Rayla and Aaravos are both crying into their reflections, and Callum and The Merciful One are trying to pull them out of it. We don't have much info on what is going on in the new scene, but to me it seems to be around the time of the formation of the Sea of Castout/when Aaravos lost his powers. So, in this case, Rayla and Aaravos are both learning that they are "ghosted" or "cast out"--pretty much, exiled from their community. Callum and The Merciful One are both shocking them out of the tears. (I do think Callum was more effective than The Merciful One's weird cryptic words, though ;)).

I'm so excited for this season! The imagery and visual motifs are already excellent, can't wait to see what else season 6 brings!!

Lol. In all seriousness, I love this ship. I love that Ethan is a GENUINE representation instead of the flack Disney has been handing out. And I love every moment Ethan and Diazo have together.

My only real complaint is that Dizao isn't a character. He's *just* Ethan's love interest. We don't know anything about him. His motivations, his goals in life, how he feels about Ethan, how he feels about living on the back of a turtle. Nothing.

Ethan is a PERFECT queer representation and I will sing his praises to the moon. Diazo, however, isn't and I wish he had more attention.

I kinda want them to be a couple. I'm kind of stuck between Viva x Barb and Viva x Clay. I really do like this ship.

I think in terms of realistically, the series has a consistent pattern of platonic-washing everything. So if they do make more content, I think they will absolutely have a shit ton of shipping material, just never straight-up confirmed.

Thought that one post about the Trolls team using the ship name dose have me hopeful.

I love this.

Before I started watching the series. I kind of hated Kismet because I too thought they took place before "singing killed my grandma" and just thought they threw away Branch's poorly worded backstory.

Now that I've watched the series, I learned that it wasn't exactly that. I mean, the bunker backstory was changed, and I kinda don't like that. But I see Kismet taking place after Trollstopia. When Branch learned how to socialize properly and make friends of his own.

However, I still think Branch's true band is the Kpop-Regeaton band. No amount of accepting Kisment as cute NSYNC trollsonas will change my mind.

I've seen a lot of thoughts and theories in the Trolls fandom as to when Branch joined/started Kismet. It seems that the most widely recognized theory is that it was in-between the time his brothers left and his grandma's death.

Now, to be clear, I do love this idea. I think it opens up a lot of interesting plot points for fanfiction. But I also have another idea.

What if he met Kismet in-between the movies? Now, I'm thinking more if in-between the first movie and World Tour.

The idea is this; Branch is struggling to get used to singing again. Poppy's influence is helping but he also wants to work on his own and not be forced to rely on her all the time. He also wants to work on making his own friends (cause I don't really see the Snack Pack as his friends, more of friends of a friend).

So Branch has an idea, he remembers that he did the best (singing wise) when he was with his brothers. So he figures that performing in a band again will help him feel more comfortable on stage, and there's the added bonus of him interacting and (potentially) getting close with other trolls.

Since Kismet never becomes super popular Poppy doesn't know about it and Branch kind of just forgets to tell her. Pretty much assuming that she already knows.
