A tribute to a dear, dear friend. The TARDIS is going to be a lot emptier without you, and we’re all going to miss you so terribly.

SABOTEN CON 2015 - SATURDAY & SUNDAY
This was the first convention I actively decided not to cosplay, and to see how it would go. I think it’s just part of growing up, and having to deal with more and more aspects of real life. But it was a good test, because I really really enjoyed myself!! Good friends are all that matter in the end <3
Saturday was relatively short - I took some photos of friends, ate pizza, and  I stayed in a hotel room with my main meme squad, and it was absolutely fantastic. I got to meet some new people that I’m very lucky to call my friends now and had adventures in the parking garage across the street.
Sunday was a ton of fun, even if we didn’t get downstairs to the con until noon. I took more photos with my new lighting set, and even got the opportunity to photograph Liui Aquino, the guest from the Philippines!! I must say, I love doing photos in the Sheraton. The lighting is really fun to work with, and I got some REALLY good ones at this event.

PHOENIX COMICON 2016 - SUNDAY
Sunday was a pretty slow day. After the events of Saturday, I slept in SUPER late, which was much needed. I wore Kaylee for the relaxed day, and spent some time with friends at Starbucks and then more photos inside the convention. I love getting good photos of my cosplays and I’m so grateful for my amazingly talented friends <3 Most of the day was spent wandering the convention floor.
There was a rumor floating around that members of AZ TARDIS who were in costume would get a chance to meet the Doctor Who guests again privately, and in a panic, I sprinted back to the hotel to change into my spare Rose cosplay, but it turned out to be for nothing, since there was a miscommunication. More than a bit heat-exhausted, the rest of the day flew by, and before long, it was time to bid PCC a farewell. Here I am, writing this months later, and I still hate to think about saying goodbye to that con. I’d say 2016 was the second-best PCC I’ve ever been to in 6 years, second only to 2014, which will always be extra super special.

PHOENIX COMICON 2016 - SATURDAY
Oh my god. How do I even BEGIN to describe Saturday of Phoenix Comicon this year. Talk about one of the best days of my life.
My boyfriend and I got up and got changed into the Doctor and Rose to prepare for the big day, i.e., MEETING BILLIE PIPER OH MY GOD?!?!?!? We barely made it to the photos on time while finding our Donna and Martha, but before long, we were well on our way to the front. I swear the moment I saw Billie I actually just started crying uncontrollably. I was super lucky - I had a photo of just myself and her, and then our whole group as well. She said it was “like looking in a mirror” and gave me a huge hug, which was. Just. I can’t even believe that was real oh my god. I sobbed for a good 10 minutes after that.
We all went over to the TARDIS to say hi to all our friends and get some photos, and then back over to Billie Piper’s autograph line so my other Rose could get her photo signed. I figured that it was a great way to be able to say hi to her again, but while we were waiting, we noticed Alex Kingston’s line was RIDICULOUSLY short. My boyfriend promptly dropped the money to get an autograph, and as we left, she told him “I just. I can’t get over it, you look like bloody David!!!” which left us both speechless, coming from HER of all people.
Another day another panel though! We SPRINTED across the convention to get to our Moffat Era of Doctor Who discussion panel, which went really well. There was SO much to discuss in so little time, but I had a lot of fun.
After that, we got some photos taken of our cosplays from Bishi Bird, the ever amazing dweeb. I got wayyyyy too hungry though, so then we all went to get pizza across the street. We all rested up, got changed, and then went to the Blue Ribbon Army party. Plenty of dancing and good fun, and I finally got to properly meet the amazing River Song cosplayer I had seen earlier that day. Drag queens are literally queens and should be worshipped as such ouo
When we finally got back to the hotel, well past midnight, I ran into some people who attended the Moffat panel, and we had an absolutely amazing time talking. I don’t think I got to bed until 3 AM that night!

PHOENIX COMICON 2016 - FRIDAY
Well, technically speaking we arrived on Thursday :) Thursday, however, was spent entirely eating In N Out, getting checked into the hotel, and spending a bit of time with friends out of costume.
Saturday morning I put on Yang Xiao Long for the first time!! This was the first costume I truly made from scratch in well over a year, and I’m so incredibly proud of how it turned out. I wandered around the vendor hall for a few hours with some of my best friends. I was very lucky to have a photo shoot with Not So Rachel photography, who took some INCREDIBLE photos of my cosplay and was worth every single minute in the heat <3 Those are on my main blog though!  Even luckier, when we came back inside, I stumbled upon the RWBY gathering and my Ruby, who I had been looking for all day. In true sister fashion, we literally tackle-hugged each other to the floor, and it was kind of really glorious. We all went up to the vendor hall and went to meet Arryn Zech, the voice of Blake, and she thought our cosplays looked amazing and we got to chat for a really long time, which was definitely exciting!! She was an absolute sweetheart and I hope I can meet her again someday. After that, we got a few photos of our little RWBY group, and I had a chance to meet YorkInABox, who’s photography I greatly admire.
HOWEVER! This was one of those multiple cosplay days, so my boyfriend and I rushed back to the hotel to change into Kilgrave and Trish Walker for our Jessica Jones panel. For a panel that we honestly barely prepared for, the turnout was stunning, and the discussion was even better. I could not have been more pleased with the way the panel went and how much audience interaction we got. Definitely need to consider running that one again.
After that, my Jessica Jones group did a quick photo shoot inside the con center, and then in an alley with Geek News Network. I can’t wait to see how they come out!! One of the photos I took inside the con center actually got noticed by the official Jessica Jones page, so that was INCREDIBLY satisfying.
It was so hard to get back on our feet after such a long day, so we ordered pizza to our hotel room and then went to the hotel pool to relax and talk the night away~

Woooo long time no post!! Fan Fest was really fun this year, even if I could only go for a day. I’m always so incredibly grateful to have Rose to wear with my amazing Doctor :) I didn’t get to the con until almost 1 in the afternoon, but it was a wonderful day of just being able to wander the vendor hall with friends, pick out some gifts for friends, and catch up with those I rarely see, especially Snow-Habit Cosplay (The Master) and Vanalosswen (John Watson).
Highlights of the day were definitely getting Chipotle with the entire squad, and getting stupid cute OTP photos in front of the TARDIS, per the norm. I have the best friends in the world!!

PCC 2015 - Sunday - Leviathan!Castiel
I have to say, compared to last year’s Sunday of con, this one was WAYYY better.
My friends and I slept in a lot on Sunday just because we could, what’s the point of rushing out? We packed up and checked out at noon, stored all our stuff in the lobby, and then went to the vendor hall to do some much needed shopping. Along the way, I stopped to get some photos with the Impala, and got to sit inside it!!! I always look ridiculous as Castiel but who even cares, he’s such a fun cosplay. The inside of the car was signed, too!
The entire day really was spent wandering the vendor hall with my boyfriend and my friend Canoe, which was really fun. We had to stop every hour or so just because our feet hurt so much though! At the end, we met up with some other friends, my boyfriend bought some cute Gallifreyan earrings for my birthday, and we went to get our stuff from the hotel.
None of us could really bear for the con to end yet, so a whole bunch of us went to Endgame to celebrate Alhena’s (my Donna) birthday~ It was a nice way to end the con as kind of an intermediate between the con and real life. 10/10 would do again.
As great as this year was, with low stress and all around good events, good photo shoots, great company, I definitely wish I had tried to do a few more costumes and maybe done one or two more exciting events. I kind of forgot just how good last year was, because of the sharper low points. That being said, I wouldn’t change this year for the world - I needed a low-key convention for once in my life, and I still really enjoyed myself. I can’t think of a single bad thing, except for that feeling of “but there was so much more to do!” (But then again, that feeling is always there, who am I kidding!)
So in summary, I’m really looking forward to the cons for the rest of the year. I’m finally out of my cosplay/convention slump, and despite not being able to attend events regularly like I did in the past because of college, I’m definitely sitting at a happy place for the first time in a long time :)

PCC 2015 - Saturday - Rose Tyler
Oh my goodness. Saturday.
After an early morning getting ready and tracking down a pair of black combat boots, my lovely Donna arrived at my hotel room to join me and my Doctor as we headed to the con. The first hour was really spent just walking around the vendor hall, where we found some other friends and had some selfie stick adventures (that was the best part!)
Around 11:30, we joined more friends to do a Doctor Who photoshoot out by the basilica, and I cannot WAIT to get the photos from that. They’re adorable (and plenty shippy, at last!) I wish I could have gotten more with Alhena Cosplay, our Donna, but because of the heat we had to go inside and rest :(
After recuperating from the extreme heat, I joined some friends from high school and headed to AZ TARDIS. They had been hosting a meet and greet photo op thing where a professional photographer would take peoples’ photos with “official” Doctor Who cosplayers for a charity auction. Since my friends and I know the admins of AZ TARDIS pretty well, they let us join them as “official” cosplayers at the backdrop, which was pretty awesome. One by one, the cosplayers who had been there went to grab lunch or run errands, which left only me and my Doctor to be the two cosplayers people were taking the Rose and Ten couple of PCC, it was still pretty surreal. Definitely one of the highlights of my day. Even better was when another girl wearing the same outfit as me showed up, the paradox jokes were endless, and I made a new friend!
Even though I was totally exhausted, I went out and took some photos for my friends Shino and Sara in their Kingdom Hearts cosplays along the alley by the Hyatt with the cool graffiti. They were probably my fave photos I’ve taken for the entire convention! The second half of the shoot took place in the Arizona Center, but didn’t last long since we were all incredibly wiped out.
I spent some time resting in the hotel before changing into the Defender of the Earth outfit with the awesome gun. My Doctor and I met up with our photographer for our photo shoot, and did a nice little photo walk through downtown as we made our way towards the AZ Center where I was hosting a gathering later that night (it was my birthday, I totally forgot to mention that lol)! The photos came out amazingly, and I can’t wait to edit them.
Then the real story begins. I don’t want to give it all away since I love telling the story, but after some confusion involving a pizza order, my friends and I all went to a Greek restaurant for dinner and the night was absolutely incredible. By far the best birthday I’ve ever had in my life.
The night ended soon afterward, as we were all incredibly tired. But it was an AMAZING day!

PCC 2015 - Friday - Kaylee Frye - Yang Xiao Long - Rose Tyler
Oh my goodness I changed like three times on Friday at LEAST.
I started the day off with Kaylee again, which was fantastic~ I got to the con and just started wandering around and found my lovely friend Tiana. We hung out until around 12:30, just wandering around the vendor hall, until Citrusbell showed up to take some awesome photos of my Kaylee cosplay, which came out AMAZINGLY and I can’t wait to post them.
After that, I participated in the Ethics of Supernatural panel, then quickly changed into Yang Xiao Long from RWBY for my friend’s in-character Ask RWBY panel :3 It was a bit stressful, given that my shirt thingy kept falling down, but it was fun nonetheless. Ruby and Nora in particular were really really amazing ;~;
After that, I ditched the costume and ran to check into the Sheraton. After lugging really heavy bags from a parking garage a ways away, my friends and I finally got checked into the hotel and promptly did nothing for the next hour. I did a photoshoot for Smoldering Flame Cosplay, then got changed and headed to Geek Prom!
Geek Prom was pretty amazing. I mainly used it as an opportunity to show off my gun and my Doctor //blushing intensifies// Both of us entered the costume contest for fun, didn’t win, but that’s ok. The rest of the night was spent dancing, all in all a night filled with new friends and a lot of laughs.
And with that, we pretty much ended our day! We all went out to get pizza from a local shop, came back to the hotel completely exhausted, and that was the end of Friday :3

PCC 2015 - Thursday - Kaylee Frye
What an amazing start to this convention. I was a little bit nervous about doing Kaylee justice, but I got an OVERWHELMINGLY positive response that made my day absolutely *heh* SHINY!
Honestly it was just a day of wandering with friends. Went to the BRA panel (blue ribbon army!) and then hung out at Starbucks and a restaurant all evening. New friends are always amazing too, I’m always so lucky to meet the incredible people that I meet.
Can’t wait for tomorrow!

I had an awesome time at Taiyou Con this year!! I drove down from Prescott really early in the morning, ran home to get some stuff, and then wore Pajama Yang all day. I didn't get recognized that much, but it's alright, because I spent the entire day taking photos of my INCREDIBLE friends! Honestly other than that it was a relatively slow day. It was a bit rough for me in the late afternoon because I had gone so long without eating/sleeping, so that stunk... but after I got some food, I did a really cool cosplayer photographer photo shoot with Cosplay Close-Up, Geek News Network, Twisted Manga, Larson Cosplay Photography, and Tarasque Productions. I'm honored to be considered among the ranks of such amazing influences on the community. Sunday was spent in my Mudkip kigurumi since poor Yang got a bit wrinkled and tangled when I packed up Saturday night. So I did some neat shots in the water with my beautiful pokemon trainer, and had a generally slow day. Overall, a nice, laid back convention, and I'm so glad I got to be there with everyone :D In this photo: Me, Hito Productions, Yoko-Chan012, Keikostrife, Alhena Cosplay, Cynorme, TheSinisterLove, EveningBlossom, Cheshire-K, Sahara-Hime, and MisterTheDoctor~

Oh my gosh I still haven't done my CMX summary. Lumping two days into one because it's easier--
I drove down from Prescott with some friends on Friday afternoon, stopped by a friend's house to borrow her Mirai Kuriyama wig, then arrived at the convention. My friends and I got checked into the hotel, and then headed down to the convention to take care of badges and such. The entire rest of the afternoon was spent taking photos and catching up with old friends, since I had been gone a few months :) As the sun started to go down, we headed over to a favorite pizza joint of ours, and ate a LOT of food.
In the evening, Trollki and I ran a Pacific Rim panel about just how awesome the movie is. It was really fun for me, because I had only watched it about 12 hours before running the panel. So worth it. Not many people showed up because it was a small con but it was still really fun.
Eventually everyone turned in for the night, then Saturday I debuted Rose Tyler's Fear Her outfit. As excited as I was, it was kind of eh. Nobody actually recognized who I was... but I still had fun being with my friends. And of course, at the very end of the day, Cosplay Close-Up treated my Doctor and I to a really fun photoshoot in an industrial kitchen no less. All in all, it was a really chill con, not super eventful, but I'm glad to have been there :)
