the soft click of the bathroom door being unlocked finally gets johnny to breathe a little easier. mark opens the door and first pokes his head out, eyeing johnny first, then glancing suspiciously at you, who is standing in the doorway of johnny’s room across the hall.

“i knew something was sus when you never showed her face on instagram,” he mumbles, pointing an accusatory finger at johnny.

“okay, yes, before we do any more accusing, can i just ask why you're not in busan with the others?” johnny asks.

“i had to stay behind to complete a lab write up that was due a few hours ago. plus, i didn't really want to see yuta drunk off his ass again. i saw that last saturday and i needed more time in between.”

“fair,” johnny mutters, nodding his head. yuta could be very…. spontaneous while intoxicated.

“now… you and…”

“y/n. my name is y/n.”

“y/n. how did this, like, happen? because i don't think it happened when her brother was ready to break your nose for looking at her.”

so johnny tells him everything. he tells him about ten, and how they met again and how they met up for apology coffees and it led to a first date and second date and tons of other dates and how they both knew the frats would react so they kept it hush hush.

“and besides ten, i think you're the first to know about it,” you admit. “and here we are!”

mark has a lot of thoughts and questions in his head, but he goes with the most obvious:

“so no one, besides ten, in the wayv frat, including your own brother, knows?”

you shake your head.

“they're really all like brothers to me and i knew that if they found out it was johnny they would freak and i really didn't want johnny going through hell that is a thorough interrogation from kun while the cantos scream the theme song to cops in the background.”

“this sounds too detailed to be hypothetical,” mark comments, passing over the details of exactly who these kun and cantos characters were.

“exactly. poor yibo was just trying to make sure i got home safely. i hope he was able to recover from that.”

the more you talk, the more mark relaxes. honestly, he really didn't have anything against you. in fact, before the whole drama that went down at the party, you and mark had talked a little. he had almost spilled tequila on you, and you had kindly told him it was okay and had asked him if he was alright. you were undoubtedly kind.

“i won’t tell,” he reassures. “i don’t think you're a bad person. so, i won't make you confront this whole situation when you're not ready yet. but just know that you can't avoid it forever.”

you nod your head, eyes beaming at him, and mark thinks that you're very cute in a puppy sort of way.

“maybe you guys could even be friends,” johnny suggests. “you guys were both born in 99.”

without hesitation, you happily exclaim that you’d love to be closer with him. he's a little shocked, but weirdly happy, and, for the rest of the night, the three of you sit in johnny’s room, talking about anything and everything.
