I don’t know about the other mods, but I’ve been recovering from being sick and also dealing with school. I had planned to be active last week, which was my spring break, but some stuff got in my way. it’s not our job to keep others safe, but we will tag things like triggers if we are asked to and we do our best to tag things like common triggers. it isnt our fault if you don’t use the blacklist, it isnt our job to become ideal role models.

we are not interacting with you, you are interacting with us. we don’t know who our posts will reach (mostly bkdks, i hope) but you know that you will be talking to us. we’re asking you to not trigger anyone when you talk to us. but you get that? you’re talking to us. we aren’t actively talking to anyone besides the asks we answer.

of course we have the decency to tag our stuff but that doesnt make us responsible for everything. they way you’re coming off it seems like you’re blaming us for everything, which is pretty dumb lol

i dont get the purpose of the ask, either since

is true lol. either way:

its your choice to log on as much as it is ours, and of course not everyone has the decency to listen to other’s triggers, but we’re expecting you (and a lot of others are too) to respect other people’s triggers (i know we do, if we’re asked to we’ll tag things). it isnt hard

and even then, those things aren't mutually exclusivei encourage people to tag content warnings and i believe it's the right thing to do in regards to potentially graphic content but not everyone does it nor can we expect everyone to tag things. it's just a considerate thing to do. asking people not to be a dick in our askbox and consider our triggers is the most we can do. likewise, there's nothing stopping you from not doing this but you'll just look like an asshole

As an autistic person who has been abused by family and a few partners growing up, and who is also currently in the most fulfilling and happy relationship of my life, I find it insulting that people on the internet feel the need to censor/filter the content I'm able to consume because people they think I'm incapable of distinguishing right from wrong. That is a slap in the face and idk if that anon was also autistic, but their experiences are not universal, really, reevaluate that sentiment.

You need to realize not everyone is aware of whats okay and isn't if they see it positively represented. Especially autistic people and those with psychosis and other neurodevelopmental disorders. They will begin to think its okay to be in a relationship with someone who treats them as poorly as bakugou treats midoriya. There are ALOT of people that depend on representation to know what's okay and isn't. Like ship whatever you want I guess but fiction affects reality far more than you believe.

Hijacking this post to say the thing about using neurodivergent disorders for your argument is that it’s not supposed to be a normal thing. I’ve been affected by delusions severe enough that I couldn’t tell fiction from reality but now that I’m in a better place I can say policing people’s ships isn’t the answer. I only got better from therapy and self-help, not antis telling me I just have to stop shipping “problematic” ships; fiction does affect reality but not to the degree you think it does and the people who confuse the two honestly have bigger problems to focus on

Don't worry your not rude, I don't think shipping bakudeku makes u a bad person, it just worries me the kind of message it can send especially to younger teens in fandom. I do think characters can get redeemed but it's another thing saying they should be in a relationship with the person they used to abuse yknow? I get it's fiction but fiction does effect how people veiw things

Look, i understand where you’re comin from, I used to be an anti bkdk myself (not sayin ur an anti tho) so i understand those concerns. But I, along with the other mods, understand that FICTION is not reality. And most people understand that something that happens in fiction isnt the same as reality. Most of the young viewers are around 13-15 (im 15 myself) and i believe it’s easy to understand that a relationship like bakudeku would not work in a real life situation. But with fiction thats not the case, which is again, why its used as a coping mech to most. Fiction can effect peoples views if they dont realize its fiction, but in 2019 that usually is not the case. It’s much easier taking it apart, i mean common we’re talking about a show where teenagers have super powers. And with the case of “bakugou shouldnt be shipped with someone he abused cuz hes an abuser” then he really shouldnt be shipped with anyone. But it’s fiction, so it’a allowed right ? Look dude this stuff is really wild but at the end of the day death threats should not be allowed and shipping bakudeku is valid as shit ! Hi nonnie ! I’m very sorry if i come off as rude at any point during this, we’ve just been dealing with a bunch regarding the blog jdfnhjdhfg. Shipping bakudeku isn’t a bad thing ! It doesnt support abuse because bakugou has grown as a character and is still growing ! they’re getting past everything they’ve dealt with growing up and thats good ! I bet if you ask anyone who ships it, they’ll say they ship in a positive context where they have a better understanding of everything. I went through the same stuff Izuku did, along with an abusive relationship, so bakudeku is a sort of coping mech for me personally. But im sorry to say shipping bakudeku is no where near as bad as harassment and death threats that people get for shipping them.
