No matter where you go in the world, the only peace you truly find is the peace you carry within yourself. Today we focus on the concept of Hip Opening Flow, releasing low back and hip muscles tightness, providing tools for practice that may lead you to explore the ways in which you may be working against yourself instead of for yourself.

This type of exploration can be revealing and, especially for those who have been practicing Pilates for a while now, it can be so Challenging!

In celebration of getting my second vaccine dose, here's a tribute to four public figures who brought me some joy throughout this long, ongoing quarantine.
Nadiya Hussain of baking show fame for giving me and my kids tons of new ideas to try in the kitchen.
Adriene Mishler and her dog Benji of Yoga With Adriene for filling the void of in-person classes and designing workouts for every possible mood, ache, and occasion.
Alan Doyle for seeing me through those awful early days of lockdown with his kitchen concerts, which helped raise money for kids suffering from mental illnesses via A Dollar A Day.
Nevada Barr of the Ranger Anna Pigeon mysteries for lending me strength through her gritty heroine while I was missing my summer job the most.

Update 11/04 and New Challenge!!

I’ve been laying the groundwork for a new challenge! I’ve been really craving  new stuff to add to my routine, and I wanted to make a better plan to help my body. I’ve gained some weight recently and my knees are struggling with my current workouts so I’m restarting some programs to build up strength and balance to give myself a better foundation in the future. 🦵 
Changes I’ve made so far:
-Adding yoga into my routine. It took me a while to get into it but once I made the switch to doing it right after I wake up I’ve actually been really enjoying it! I’m finally doing the Yoga with Adriene Breath series and it’s been great so far
-Sleeping more!! This has been huuuuge, I didn’t realise how much being tired was affecting my cravings and general mood throughout the day- I’ve gone from sleeping ~6 ½ hours to nearly 7 ½ most nights by being really strict with bedtimes and it’s changing my life 
-Buying scales 🐙 This was a scary one, I had to really promise myself that I wouldn’t use knowing my weight as something I’d beat myself up with. I might talk more about this in another post but the conflict between knowing that weight doesn’t/shouldn’t affect worth, and also wanting to know my weight/lose weight is really difficult sometimes! But I decided to go for it because I like numbers, and I was curious to try scales with body fat % measurements too
-New workout gear! My leggings have been falling apart so I treated myself to a few new pieces and it’s making me so happy 🙌
The challenge I’ll be doing next is Beatrice Caruso’s “67 Try Your Best Bitch Challenge”!!!

It’s kind of a spoof of 75 Hard and it’s much more relaxed. It starts on the 18th April and I’m going to be trying to post daily again throughout the challenge so you’ll get a ton of updates!!

Sunshine and waterfalls in the mountains. Like a hidden surprise at the end of a hike, a waterfall is a blessing. Being from Florida and mostly a beach girl, it feels so special to be up in the mountains. One more day today and we are soaking up every bit of it.
