[Okay, I just want to address something real quick as I’m getting closer to archiving this blog and, consequently, releasing my first promo post for my new multimuse account.
Tumblr media
Writing compatibility is a very subject thing; but it’s no less important. At least for me, when there is no writing chemistry, it becomes increasingly more challenging to establish any form of connections or threads. Imagine picking up a book by an author whose plots and characters may be intriguing, yet their writing style and diction is just not at all what you’re drawn to - or into, to use more colloquial phrasing. Now, of course, rpers have the choice to dismiss this in favor of engaging with said partners, however, this is not an option for all of us. When I just don’t see  a connection between our characters any more - when it becomes a chore to reply to threads - I’ve always upheld the belief that it is much more reasonable to let the other party know rather than trying to please or appease. It is what it is and since it is a very subject thing, there’s hardly anything that can be done to remedy this. This is not done out of malice. It’s unfortunate. It happens.
That will be all. ]

Question: do I really have to make a character page whilst I try not to stab myself with this sharpened pencil or are they not strictly necessary? Because I hate setting them up with a burning passion and I just............n o.

[Now that I have a new repertoire of characters at my side - all of whom are linked to an entirely different genre - I don’t quite know what to do with this blog. Truth be told I’m a lazy piece of mushrooms so I just don’t have it in me to keep this blog just for two people ( since I only have about a handful of fantasy writers over here) so unless you’re also into slice of life threads, I believe this is farewell. Until then, please don’t expect me to be online on here, much less respond to things.]

[Hello, friends! I’ve finally made a personal blog centered around my reading adventures. It also serves as a resource for writing tips and suchlike so it might be useful to you one way or another. Feel free to follow me here if you also have a personal. c:]

Typically, his personality is partially a chimera between a cat and a dog with a bone-idle work attitude towards most everything unless it includes giving him attention --- and ample of it, please.
This is why you should never ask me to write character bios in an rp. Somebody please fly to Germany and destroy my computer with a fourteenth-century battleaxe. @eilidhink

CHARACTER IDEA:  A witch who was abandoned at the step of a church, controversially enough, without so much as a bottle of poison wrapped around her little feet.  Said witch’s personality can be summed up as follows: deadpan snarker, a morbid case of gallow’s humor, and a fondness for potentially lethal pranks played on her friends. It’s okay, though, because most of them are immortal anyway. She’s a talented potion brewer with quite a fan club following her around the world (no, really) but remains completely humble about her fame. Because what she’s really after is to figure out how to recreate the potion her parents left her with when she was just a child. She believes that if she can find all those rare ingredients, she might also find her parents along the way. Of course, she is also very gay.
Would anybody be interested in writing against such a character?

[I’m torn between ‘take this computer away from me’ and ‘I’m kinda digging this character description.’ Reluctantly asking for thoughts here. Reluctantly.]

[ok but what if I made a witch character with questionable morals, a passion for pranks, and a mildly unhealthy obsession with potions?]

Character talk
Avery: So, d’ya have any tattoos, French boy?
Ronan: Oh, yeah! I have the first name of my first love tattooed on my collarbone!
Avery, Aibhilin, Nolan, Alexander: *softly mumbling* what an idiot.

[So, here’s the deal. I still maintain my stance on despising the ever perfunctory descriptor ‘dark’, which, in essence, is really just an excuse for ignorant people to write funky shit under the guise of knowing anything about psychology (spoiler alert: they don’t). So I’m going to work assiduously on not perpetuating harmful implications along with the stigma imposed on people with psychotic disorders in particular, nor will I be using pop culture’s fairly outdated terms of ‘psychopath’ or suchlike. When I describe my amoral characters as monstrous, it’s really just an attempt to define something even the social sciences struggle to explicate on a deeper level. The truth is, however, that the vast majority of people think of morality in black and white - so what I’m trying to pinpoint is their moral make-up utilizing concepts a broader audience will understand. Beyond this, though, I’ve grown tired of lawful goods running around and that’s it. Heroes can be just as villainous; it’s a mask of heroism, if you ask me. But you know what happens when Lawful goods hang out?
Right. Nothing.
Call me ignorant or whatever else you fancy but I refuse to limit my presentation of reality to what’s nice and dandy and good. I’m certain we have all been spiteful assholes in our lives before; and this is what I want to write about. The ugly, the bad, the grey. I’m not a firm stickler about soc///cial justice, though my beliefs are nonetheless liberal. I believe in a person’s right to be whatever or whoever they desire to be  and don’t believe for one single second it’s anyone’s right to attack somebody else’s identity. Having said that, I will not apologize for abandoning what’s considered ‘proper’ on this site. Feel free to come with your holier than thou pitchforks, but I’m not going to budge on this.]

[Hello, friends! As there has been confusion surrounding my new blog, I thought I’d elaborate on my intentions a little. First and foremost, I made my other multimuse with the intent in mind to step completely out of my comfort zone and to challenge myself as a writer. Fantasy has been a genre I’ve always felt most comfortable with, seeing as there are barely any logical or realistic limits to what is tangible so long as it doesn’t predict the magic system put into place. With crime, it is vastly different since there are physical limitations along with specified academic backgrounds which have to be thoroughly researched. As such, I believe it was simply time for me to step away from the fantasy realm without completely abandoning it.
So, are you just going to write crime stuff?
No, although it will undoubtedly be the focus of my new blog. I will not lie: most of the Morrison family on the paternal side are morally ambiguous or downright monstrous to say the least ---- but there are exceptions to this rule as well. I will still be writing slice of life threads and would like to transfer them over to my new blog.
Do I have to follow both?
That’s up to you! Sometimes pursuing creative development leads to having to go separate ways, which is more than fine with me, regardless of how hard it may be. Again, slice of life threads are still game over at @renegaderoots but my fantasy stuff will stay where it is: here. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me!

[That awkward moment when your own character outsmarts you and you no longer have any idea what’s real. As in: is he just conning Lachlan, initially hoping to use him as a free pass to slip away from the clusterfuck of a family, or has he actually caught the feels? @rivsmuses
I DON’T KNOW.]
