YALIVTA AT AXIS 2016
Join YALIVTA at AXIS 2016 from February 21 - 23 to see our latest collections and meet the owners and team behind the brand. You can find us at booth B40!
More on the event after the jump...
Axis continues to curate a multi-dimensional presentation in an authentic environment full of dynamic, inspiring designers who laud fashion-forward, creative, athletic lifestyles with their unique goods and creations.
Our goal is to build a platform for you to grow your business and tell your brand’s story. We uphold an ongoing sense of community at Axis where you can expect to nurture current relationships and find new connections, inspirations, and discoveries for many more seasons to come.
I have been to quite a few tradeshows in hopes of discovering cool brands that are bringing new ideas to the market. Axis immediately stood out to me as the one that really got it right. Maybe it is because my tastes are so in line with what it has to offer, but Axis has the most genuine and fresh perspective on what a women’s tradeshow can be. Erica Euse VICE

Triple Flip
We're back and we have big news! Our team is thrilled to formally announce our placement in every Triple Flip location in Canada!
About Triple Flip
Triple Flip is a tween girls’ brand that began in Calgary, Canada in 2005, when they recognized that girls needed a brand that really “got” them. They needed a brand that was fun, aspirational, that fit their bodies and active lifestyles and helped them define who they are, at that time in their lives when everything is changing.
Where it all Began The Original Flip Girls
Linda Maslechko, the mother of three girls (all of whom were going through their awkward tween years), realized that there was something missing in the marketplace for girls aged 7–13 years. Shopping with her daughters was just a series of disappointments and fruitless searching to find something they liked and that fit their growing bodies.
Does their story remind you of something? Mother of three girls looking to provide comfort, style, function and form. YALIVTA and Triple Flip were meant to be!  Read the rest of their story here.
Check out Triple Flip's blog and don't forget to follow them!

Like Mother, Like Daughter
There has definitely been a recent boom in the dance market. Not only with amazingly talented dancers and choreographers but also within the field of dance attire.
The idea of designing clothing that all dancers would love to wear, an idea that comes off to be simple in thought and execution proves to be rather difficult when you begin incorporating all of a dancers needs - soft, luxurious and easy to move or breath in.
The idea of starting our own company tailoring clothes that dancers can wear at any age was something we felt we just HAD to do. Dancers often begin their careers at the tiniest of ages - 3 or 4 - and every piece we create should start there. They need to be foundational pieces that our dancers grow up with.
Next was the decision of how far would our product line range? What sizes would our clothing end with? How often have you heard the comment, "I wish that came in my size!" Our sweaters range children to adult, because a beautiful sweater is a beautiful sweater that everyone should enjoy. We want our clothes to be shared between mother and daughter continuing that beautiful bond.
Dancers and dance itself are an art and the perfect muse for creating beautiful pieces. As I watched my little ones grow into dance I realized they were very particular in their choices on what they put on. If it looked good it also had to feel good. Leggings were their staple as were cozy tops and sweaters made of cotton and only cotton (as acrylics and wools were way too itchy for their dancing bodies). So began our staple pieces, our half tops & bottoms, leggings and wraps - so cute!
But, a dancer’s career can last a lifetime as should their clothing! We needed to create a wide range of sizes in order to keep all our dancers happy. What better than to create clothing in all sizes not just for mothers, not just for teens, and not just for the wee ones. And though Yalivta is a line inspired by dancers we certainly don’t want to create a line that not everyone can enjoy. After all isn’t there a little ballerina inside all of us?

Paris Fashion Week SS16
A bit late, but we knew we had to take our time with this one. Paris Fashion Week didn't only wrap the month, but it did so with an extraordinary elegance one can only expect out of Paris.
Olivia Palermo says it best about Raf Simons SS16 ready to wear for Christian Dior, "In the days following Dior’s Spring 2016 runway show, most of the associated commentary heard around Paris alluded to the floral fantasy of a venue that housed the catwalk this season – a spectacular delphinium-covered tent erected in a courtyard of the Louvre." We have the full show for you to see what she means...
We'll let you decide who took the spotlight after you see Karl Lagerfeld's fascinating re-imagination of travel wear in the chicest airport we've ever seen, Chanel Airlines.
Before we say au revoir we leave you with our final favorites, The Row & Vionnet. Now off we go to get some much needed rest after what has been a very hectic month of travel and planning for our upcoming lines.

NYFW Recap
A crossover of human art and design - shapes, silhouettes intersecting at the body, natures work of art. Our designs pull inspiration from the movement we see in the studio, capturing beautiful silhouettes with fine lines combining them with moments. We keep dancers in mind giving them fashionably pieces they can proudly adorn outside of the studio before transitioning to practice. Outside of dance, we take inspiration from life, our surroundings while we travel and most importantly we pull from the fashion labels we love. This past week in the big apple was the pinnacle of bringing it all together - art and fashion at NYFW. We were ecstatic to be a part of it and decided to pull together a few of our favorite looks. Did we mention the street style was to die for? ...or should we talk about the inspirational show Riccardo Tisci put on for Givenchy, paying homage to 9/11? There's too much to say, so instead take a peek at a few of our favs.
One of our biggest inspirations is Alexander Wang and his minimal designs - watch the show above or check out the looks here.
Honorable Mentions: Rag & Bone and Altuzarra (the ballet inspired footwear!)

We align with brands who hold true to similar standards — a fine example lies with ELLE Magazine. An industry leader in women’s fashion and luxury lifestyle empowering young women all over the world. We love bringing our dancers behind the scenes - for a look into the studio - to share where we pull our inspiration. ELLE.com pulled together a wonderful group of Instagram accounts that focus primarily on ballet, we invite you to take a look and encourage you to follow!

Never too Young to Dance
YALIVTA has noticed the tutu trend and more than ever today how much girls love dressing like a dancer. From princesses to ballerinas there is no doubt fantasies and fairy tales are dreams the heart makes. Feeling pretty and ethereal, wistful and imaginative are things we can take with us as we grow. We all have a little Pan in us...
We couldn't help but extend our great design to those who show nothing but love (and a few other emotions, but let's not talk about those). Introducing our Baby Harem Pants! Shop the link below the gallery!
