I mean I agree, but that wasn’t necessarily clear with your first posts, so I’m glad you clarified things.
Abled people: how’re we suppose to live and sustain ourselves if we are unable to work??? How does the government expect us to live like this???

no one is saying you have to stop calling yourself queer, and its great that you can reclaim a slur!! Its amazing to bring piwer to urself!!! But some ppl have trauma with the word and that needs to be respected by not using it on lgbt who are uncomfy with ut
Y'all are some of the most disingenuous motherfuckers. I am exhausted. And I am really done with this trauma argument.
A confession: I have been harassed and verbally abused with it/its pronouns before.
I don’t fully understand why some trans people choose to use it pronouns for themselves, and I don’t follow anyone who does anymore because seeing someone referred to as “it” upsets me.
However, I do not shame or belittle trans folks who use it/its pronouns in a reclaiming fashion because it’s none of my business and I am not a piece of obnoxious shit.
If you have trauma associated with the word queer, then you need to respect me and yourself enough to not interact with my blog.
This blog literally has QUEER in its url, name, and description. Every other post on this blog contains the word QUEER. This blog is about QUEER people, for QUEER people, by a QUEER person.
No one is forcing you to interact with this blog. No one is forcing you to interact with the QUEER community. No one is forcing you to apply the word QUEER to your own identity.
Block blogs that have queer in their url. Add the word QUEER to your Tumblr tag blacklist. Download one of the many different apps and browser extensions that exist and use it to hide posts with the word QUEER in them.
Try taking at least some responsibility for your own mental health.
You aren’t queer? You don’t like the word? That’s fine. Your feelings and your trauma are valid.
But hear this: y'all need to leave QUEER people the FUCK alone.
Stop adding “queer is a slur” to our posts.
Stop inviting yourselves onto our posts to whine about the phrase “queer community”.
Don’t reblog our posts if you’re going to tag them with “#q slur”.
Stop making discourse of our genders and sexualities.
Stop trying to create rules over who is allowed to call themselves queer when you yourself are not queer.
Stop sending us invasive messages demanding to know “how” we’re queer or if we’re “really lgbt”.
Stop trying to make the queer community responsible for your personal baggage, as if we aren’t surviving with our own.
Let QUEER people live.

“I didn’t get any comment back from Bryan Fuller.”
Oh wow… Bryan Fuller, a very successful gay American writer and survivor did not want to talk to the person who put a small LGBTQ+ business on blast to her followers and lowkey sides with the people who called him a p*do on twitter just because he doesn’t think people should be punished for making controversial art.
Wow. So shocking he didn’t want to talk to the person who reports on tumblr drama for a living.

The 2nd Amendment is no longer the right to bear arms.  The 2nd Amendment has become the right to take lives. The 2nd Amendment is no longer aiding citizens.  The 2nd Amendment is now abetting murderers.
When the laws don’t work, the laws must change.

I wrote some Rivalshipping based on your prompt, @steinbecks. Thank you!

The sky was crisp and dark with winter above the pepper glow of Domino City, and the windows of the double-storied bookstore were warm and golden like a candle. Yugi had led them here after their dinner across the street, at a restaurant where there had been elegant black boxes emitting soft blue fluorescence over tables with actual candles cupped in glass. Yugi had done most of the talking.
Yugi was wearing a duffel coat the color of caramel with a grey plaid scarf loose over his shoulders. The scarf hadn’t been necessary to wear tonight but it had been a gift from Anzu and it was special to Yugi. Seto was wearing a charcoal overcoat with polished black shoes.
“Bookstores feel so cozy in winter,” Yugi had said as they’d walked through the entryway. Yugi himself seemed to emit light.
“I’m going to check out the manga,” he said. Seto followed Yugi to the aisle of bright volumes, watched Yugi’s eyes skim their spines. Yugi pulled out a classic—or so Seto understood. “I loved reading and watching Dragon Ball when I was little. Gohan was my favorite character but I liked all of them.” Seto had no idea who Gohan was. Yugi placed the volume back. “Making wishes on the seven Dragon Balls doesn’t seem so silly now.” Yugi voice had become softer.
“It’s good you had something to read,” Seto said.
“Yep. I loved that world. It still means a lot to me I guess.”
Yugi’s eyes turned back to search the store’s selection. His fingers pulled another volume from its place on the shelf. “Bakura-kun recommended this series to me so I want to check it out. I guess it’s a ghost murder mystery story.” Seto lingered as Yugi’s eyes searched the pages, until Yugi said, “You can wander around if you want. Or you can stay here. Since I’ll probably just be checking some stuff out here for now.” Yugi’s face was warm as he said this.
Seto put his hands into the pockets of his coat as he walked between the aisles and shelves. He wasn’t sure where to go. He watched people move on the other side of the glass over the winter city sidewalks, watched the pulse of cars on the street, the bundles of moving warmth and light.
He turned and walked back into the heart of the bookstore and took the escalator to the second story. He watched as gold and silver and pastel stars blossomed into sight, strung from the ceiling. It was the children’s section. An elementary-school-aged boy was sorting through a stand of stuffed animals, looking over the tags of a plush coral-colored octopus.
Seto found himself standing and holding a copy of Margery Williams’ The Velveteen Rabbit. It was the classic edition, the illustrations sparse and yellowed and baring their age. His eyes scanned their colors and the spill of words on the pages. What a stupid corny story.
“So you like children’s books?”
There was a slight jolt to Seto’s hands as Yugi’s voice met him. Yugi dipped his face to see the cover but Seto was already putting it away. “The Velveteen Rabbit?” Yugi asked. Seto’s fingers hadn’t left contact with the spine yet. He dropped his hand slowly.
“I used to read it. When I was small.”
“That’s cute.” Yugi’s voice was honey-bright. A few volumes of manga were pressed in his hands.
“Are you done then?” Seto asked.
“If you want to go we can.”
Seto stood by Yugi as Yugi paid, as the manga were placed into a plastic green bag, and they walked into the world together.
It was nice to walk with Yugi. It was nice Yugi enjoyed manga and that he wore the scarf Anzu had given to him.
Seto felt as though painted rabbits were drifting through the black sky. A long time ago, he had been a boy alone at his relatives’ house and he remembered the story he read: the story of the stuffed rabbit who was almost destroyed but became real because he was loved. He had remembered that story as he picked up the pieces of his wrecked heart scattered in the darkness. He remembered it now.
“Thank you for having dinner with me and letting me drag you places,” Yugi said to Seto.
Seto felt like a fool, wanting to thank Yugi for helping him to become real.

Probably because talking about how hard it is not to work is largely accepted (and kind of a humble brag, even if unintentional), and the inverse is just seen as being lazy. I’m sure there are a lot more people who fall in that second category. They just don’t talk about it.
it's so funny how immune i am to hustle culture. people will talk about taking breaks for their mental health and how difficult it was for them to do what was right for them and i'm like. it's absolutely unreal how quickly i'll dump something i don't want to do anymore.

tangentially related but i think some degree of snarkiness and making fun when you see something you think is cringe or whatever is probably just a natural human thing. but sometimes it’s better to just do that in private dms with a friend and not, like, in a public forum

Meanwhile two days ago it was 31°C (87.8°F) where I live, and I absolutely felt like I was going to die.
it’s ninety-nine degrees outside, four fuck-thousand percent humidity, and my husband was like, “i’m gonna go for a bike ride.” and i was like “why. no. why. don’t put us on the news like that. local fool collapses on unnecessary journey. don’t do it.” so he says he doesn’t want to “hide in the house” because the sun is shining. bruh. honeybruh. “the sun is shining” does not cover it. its hot outside. its motherfucking hot as fuck outside. our outdoor plants have been crying into their hands all week. whole cars are melting into the sewer. our fucking patio umbrella developed sentience to ask me for lemonade this morning

Full offence but countries like America, Australia, the UK, etc, should all be -- not only accepting as many refugees from Afghanistan as need be, but helping refugees get the fuck out of Afghanistan.
We're the ones who spent twenty years fucking up their country and murdering their civilians "for fun." And then we just collectively drop everything and say "the Taliban can have you."
Fuck that noise. It's disgusting. There are untold numbers of people fleeing the Taliban right now, across the whole country, with all of them -- but especially women and anyone who might be accused of helping the old government/foreign armies -- fearing for their lives.
The Western countries that have spent two decades fucking up Afghanistan have a duty of fucking care to the civilians left behind.
Breaking news as of 16 August 2021 is that the Afghan president and all other government officials have fled Kabul. The "last stronghold" that was predicted to "hold out against the Taliban for three months" has fallen within a week, and most civilians in that city and others that have been overrun are now fearing for their lives.
We have a basic moral obligation to help them in any way possible. That includes taking unreserved numbers of refugees that are refugees in large part due to the actions of the "heroic west."
