The atmosphere in Mount Weather kept getting darker each passing minute. The 47 were locked up in their dorm by the new president, and there was no way of getting them out. Your head was spinning, you hadn’t had rest for a long time. So much had happened that you didn’t even think about sleeping. But you knew you needed it, so you opened the door to your parent’s apartment. You hung your key card up on the wall and put off your shoes.
“I’m home” you called, and your mother came out of the kitchen.
“Hey (Y/N)” she said, a smile on her face. “Where have you been?”
“Working with Dr. Tsing again” you answered. Your dad came into the living room too.
“I must say you are working a lot lately,” he said, “We don’t see you during the day”
“There’s just a lot going on, and they need a lot of help…” Your mother sat on the couch and signaled you to sit too.
“aren’t you a little too young to work full-time?”
“I’m not working full-time, I just want to help everyone-”
“You know, sometimes you are a little bit too kind,” Your dad said behind you, and you felt a hand on your shoulder.
“Maybe you should take a few days off, hang out with Maya,” Your mother said. You wished you could, but there was no way you could ignore all the things that were happening at the moment. You thought of Jasper and Monty, of Bellamy… They all needed your help.
“I can’t”
“When did you become so obsessed with working?” You dad commented, in the attempt to make a joke.
“I’m not obsessed, I just want to help”
“Maybe we should talk to dr. Tsing sometime-”
“No, you don’t,” You said with a raised voice. You needed to know what Cage was up to, and Tsing was the one who was telling you everything. And you didn’t want your parents to get involved with everything. Bad things were going to happen, and they wouldn’t be part of it. You were making sure of that.
“Just- stay out of it, please”
“(Y/N) -” “No, you have to let me go”
“Is this still about work?” your dad asked you.
“It’s about everything” you said, before walking to your room. You closed your door and sat against it. You were so tired of everything, you just needed a break.
The next morning you were woken up by the doorbell, and you groaned. It took you a second to come down to earth, and you remembered everything that happened.
“(Y/N), It’s for you,” your dad said. You groaned again and got up. A second later you were dressed, and you walked up to the front door. It was Bellamy.
“How did you-”
“Looks like everyone knows where you live. Come on, I need your help” you nodded and walked back inside. You grabbed your key card and let your dad know you were out.
“Let me guess, work?” Your dad said, and you shot him a look.
“fine, just grab some breakfast okay?” You nodded quickly and closed the door behind you.
“What happened?” You asked Bellamy while you walked to the elevator.
“A lot,” he said. He grabbed your wrist and pulled you into a small hallway, where you could talk privately. And then he told you everything that happened the last couple of hours.
He found papers of the airlock system in the whole building and had crawled a lot. He overheard Cage talking about a missile, but everything was okay according to Clarke. Later he went with the other guards and Cage to grab someone from the dorm and had a small talk with Jasper. After that, he went to Wallace and asked him for a solution. A summary: A lot of things happened.
“I wish I stayed with you” You whispered.
“You can help me now”
Later, you found yourself and Bellamy in a small control room. He was talking to the Raven girl, trying to stop another one of the 47 from being taken.
“Just tell me how we know if it’s even working,” Bellamy said to Raven, frustrated. At that very moment, the alarms went off and you heard the familiar woman voice say: “CONTAINMENT BREACH.”
“What did you do?” You said, leaving the room in a hurry.
When you and Bellamy were on level 4, you walked into a whole group of guards putting on protection suits.
“What’s going on?” You asked one of them.
“We can’t tell you that” You looked up at Bellamy and crossed your arms.
“What can we do now?” Bellamy asked you.
“We wait for them at the lab”
You and Bellamy ran through the building, on your way to the lab. You scanned your keycard, and then Bellamy jumped in before you. He grabbed his gun and stood in front of the open door. A girl from the 47 was trying to escape, and she almost bumped into Bellamy. She stopped and took a step to her left.
“thanks,” Bellamy said, and he shot down the other two guards. He pulled off his helmet, and the girl recognized him immediately.
“Bellamy!” she said before jumping into his arms. She started sobbing on his shoulder and you took a look around. Dr. Tsing was not there. You shook your head, trying not to think about it.
“Come on, we have to get her someplace safe”
You didn’t want to come home, but you had no choice. You opened the door and saw your mother laying on the couch.
“Mom, you’re home” She opened her eyes and looked at you.
“Yes, I am” At that moment she saw Fox and Bellamy standing behind you, and she stood up rapidly.
“What are they doing here?” She asked.
“They are in trouble, we just need someplace safe”
“Honey, they need to go-”
“Let me explain-”
“(Y/N), do you know how dangerous this is?”
“I know, mom. But they just need a place to stay”
“Please,” Fox said,”They are killing us. We don’t have anywhere else to go” You looked at your mom. She raised her hand and put it on your cheek.
“Is this what you’ve been doing?” She asked you, and you nodded.
“They are my friends. I can’t let them die” a tear made its way down your cheek.
‘You can stay here” Your mother said to Bellamy and Fox. You hugged her tightly and put your head on her shoulder.
“Thank you, mom”
Bellamy was on his way to get guns, and you were on your way to the mess hall. You walked toward the elevator, but at that moment Cage came around the corner. You wanted to turn around, but he had already seen you.
“(Y/N)!” He said. He was walking up to you, followed by his guards.
“We were just on our way to see you. Is Maya with you?”
“I’m afraid not,” you said, holding your breath.
“I’m sure you can tell us her location”
The brutal guards forced you to sit down on a chair in Cage’s office after dragging you all the way up there. Another guard was holding an oxygen-suit. After a few seconds, Cage walked into the room, closing the door behind him.
“Maya will be here any second,” he said to the guard.
“What do you want?” You shot at him angrily. A smirk appeared on his face, and he sat down in front of you.
“Oh, you didn’t know? Let me explain, your ‘friends’ radiated level five today” Your words got stuck in your throat. Did Bellamy do that?
“So I figured, why not use one of their friends to get them to surrender?” You glared at him.
“If you want to use me, get on with it” Cage stood up and took a step toward you.
“I’m not using you for that, (Y/N). Unfortunately, Dr. Tsing died because of the radiation today. She was very important for all of our people, so I was a bit lost. But then I remembered. She always told everything that was on her mind to one certain person. That person knows everything we need to know to survive”  Then it hit you. He was talking about you.
“We need you, (Y/N)” He whispered. A guard behind you pushed down the top of your shirt and another guard walked toward you with a needle in his hand. A needle full of bone marrow from one of your friends.
“NO!” You yelled, trying to get away. But the guards were too strong, you couldn’t move a muscle. Off course Cage knew how to make you feel miserable. Moments later you felt the needle go inside you, and tears welled up in your eyes. You were now the reason of one of your friend’s death. You stopped resisting, and the tears were now rolling down your cheek. The damage was done, you were now immune to radiation.
You were now alone in the office, with the door locked. You paced around the room, trying to forget about what just happened. The only thing you wanted to think about is a way to help Bellamy.
“This is President Wallace talking to the people who killed 10 of my men.” The sound of Cage’s voice came out of the speaker, what could only mean one thing. Cage was going public.
“I thought we’d try something… a little different this time. There are only twenty minutes of oxygen in Maya’s suit.”
“No, no, no” You mumbled as you sat behind Cage’s desk. You put on the computer and fill in your password. You searched for live camera footage, and soon Maya’s face appeared on the screen. You gasped and put your hands in front of your mouth.
Your best friend was wearing the green suit the guard was holding before, a gun aimed at her.
“I know she’s a friend of yours. In twenty minutes, your friend will either suffocate or burn. But you can save her. All you have to do is surrender.”
Suddenly your whole body filled with rage. The president would not touch your best friend. You got up and picked up the chair you were sitting on. You grabbed it tight and threw it across the room, at the glass wall. It wasn’t hard enough, the glass wasn’t shattered. You picked the chair up from the floor and took a deep breath.
For my friends.
You swung the chair as hard as you could, and when it hit the glass the whole wall fell into pieces. You ran into the hall and when you closed your eyes for one second, you bumped into someone. Thinking it was a guard, you raised your arm to slap him. But the person grabbed your wrist, and you looked up. You recognized the brown-heard bow immediately.
“Bellamy!” you said, and you hugged him hard. He was practically still a stranger, but you didn’t care.
“What happened?” He asked as soon as you pulled away. Your eyes were probably still red and puffy from the crying, but you didn’t want to look back. You wanted to be stronger than that.
“It doesn’t matter. What matter is that my best friend-”
“I know, I’ve heard it”
“Then come on, we have to save her,” you said, walking past Bellamy.
“Wait, what’s the plan?”
“I don’t care-”
“(Y/N) we can’t get up there without a plan. Besides, you can’t even get on level five” You stopped. You were trying so hard to ignore what happened.
“I can now,” You said, not looking behind you. “Let’s go save her”
It was Bellamy’s idea to climb to level five since there was no other way to get there without killing guards. Bellamy was above you, climbing a gate leading to the level.
“It’s here,” he said, before slapping at the small door. It took him a few moments, but he managed to get it open.
“Bellamy?” you heard Jasper’s familiar voice say. Bellamy got out of the hole, and you followed. Jasper’s eyes opened widely as soon as they landed on you.
“(Y/N) you’re not wearing a suit”
“I’m fine,” you said, looking around. When your eyes landed on Maya, you ran toward her.
“Thank god,” you said, and you pulled her into a hug.
“(Y/N), there isn’t enough time. Get her in here” Bellamy said, pointing at the gate you came through. You pushed Maya slightly in his direction.
“Go, go, go!” someone said, and Maya got in the gate. You went after Bellamy and slid down the whole building. After seconds you landed in a container and Jasper immediately grabbed Maya’s suit. He pulled it off her head and her face got in contact with oxygen. She breathed loudly and Jasper pulled her into a hug.
“I got you,” he said. After their hug, it was your turn, and you squeezed the hell out of that girl.
“I thought I lost you,” you said to her, not wanting to let her go. You knew you had to let go eventually, so you did. Walking past the corner of the room was Maya’s dad, a gun hanging on his shoulder.
“Dad? What are you doing here?”
“What your mother would’ve done” The two hugged, and so did Jasper and Bellamy.
“Hey, listen to me,” Bellamy said to Jasper, but you listened too. “Clarke is coming with an army of Grounders. We have to keep all of you safe until then”
“Don’t tell me Finn finally got his peace talks?” Jasper said.
“Something like that” Bellamy responded, with a look you couldn’t explain. “Come on, we got a lot of work to do”

The room was dark and filled with thick air, like always. In front of you, the person you searched for hung upside down for their blood. Different tubes went inside his body and his mouth was open.
It was a young man, with brown curls and freckles. You walked closer to him to study him more.
It had to be someone from the ark, but you couldn’t ask him because he was unconscious. You looked around and saw different syringes laying on a table. One read “EPINEPHRINE” and you knew that would wake him up. If the others discovered him he would be dead, so you had no choice.
With force, you put the needle into his leg, and he gasped immediately. He began to start breathing heavily and looked around fast. You bent your knees to talk to him.
“Who are you?” You asked. He took a second to think, and then he looked at you. “You are from the ark, aren’t you?” he nodded.
“(Y/N)?” he said. You frowned, how did he know your name? You nodded slightly.
“How about getting me down (Y/N)?” he said, and you stood up. You grabbed the needles in his chest and ripped them out. The heart monitor went off, and at that moment someone walked in.
You started and looked at the person, Lovejoy.
“Lovejoy, hi,” You said, glancing at the boy from the Ark.
“Hello (Y/N). Do you know what is so special about him?” He said, referring to the boy.
“He’s-” You sighed, “He’s dead”
“So he is” Lovejoy commented, taking a look for himself. He pressed a button what made the boy go down slowly. The boy acted like he was dead, fortunately, and you wondered what his plan was.
Lovejoy started to free him from his chains and immediately got kicked in the face. The boy sat up quickly, freeing himself from the last chain on his foot.
Lovejoy grabbed his gun and shouted at the boy: “Don’t move!” You wanted to help, so you grabbed another syringe and stabbed Lovejoy in his neck. The gun fell to the ground and you rushed to it.
Meanwhile, the boy and Lovejoy were throwing punches at each other, so you pointed the gun at Lovejoy.
“Stop!”
“No, don’t! They’ll hear” The boy said, so you lowered the gun. You had to trust him now. The fighting went on and on and you just stood there, watching. It looked like the boy was losing, but then a grounder girl grabbed Lovejoy’s wrist. The boy got up and grabbed Lovejoy’s neck with much force.
Seconds passed and Lovejoy’s face got more purple and he couldn’t get enough air. And then, it was over. the man fell to the ground, and there was silence. He was dead.
You sighed deeply, looking at the ground. You missed the look the boy gave you.
“Are you alright?” He asked you, and you looked at him. You didn’t answer, so he walked up to you. He laid his hand on your arm.
“I’m fine,” you said, shaking a little bit.
“Help me get him undressed,” he said, and you followed him to the body. What had you done?
The boy you learned was called Bellamy changed in an empty closet, and you waited for him outside. The air felt thicker than before, and you couldn’t realize what happened moments before. Yes, you did what you had to do. And Lovejoy did so too.
Bellamy stepped out of the closet, wearing Lovejoy’s uniform. He looked at you at you for a second, before closing the door. He stepped toward you.
“You’ve done enough. You should walk away”
“You don’t know where you’re going,” you told him. You didn’t kill someone to stop now.
“So draw me a map”
“No, I’m in,” you said, giving him the gun. He looked at you, his eyes shining a little bit.
“Okay. I need to get to the radio to contact Clarke. We heard Jasper’s SOS-”
“My friend helped them set that up. I know where it is” You sighed, you had to tell him about his friends. “Bellamy… The doctors here are obsessed with your friend’s blood. They’ve taken Monty and Harper, but I stopped it for now. I hope...”
“I need to see the others. And thank you for saving them,” He said, and you nodded.
“The dorm’s on the way to the radio. And-” you stopped him from walking away by putting your hand on his chest. Your other hand ripped Lovejoy’s name tag from the uniform.
“Everyone knows everyone here,” You said, and he nodded. You gave him a cap, and you told him to roll up his sleeve. You needed to remove his tracker, so you grabbed a small knife and a bandage.
“I’m sorry, I need to take it out”
“Do it,” He said, giving you his arm. You held it gently and started talking to him as a distraction.
“How did you know my name?” you asked him, cutting his arm. He studied your face closely.
“Clarke said that you helped her escape” You smiled at him, and got the tracker out. He sighed and you put the bandage on his wound.
“Put this in your cage,” You said, giving him the tracker.
“There are 382 people in this mountain,” You told Bellamy while you guided him through the hallways. “If any of them realize you’re not one of us, you’re dead” You scanned your card and got into the elevator.
“We’re on level two and the dorm is on level five. There’s a camera in the upper right-hand corner, keep your head down” The door opened and you stepped inside. Bellamy kept his head down like you told him so, but before the doors could close someone stepped inside. It was a professor of yours.
“Hey (Y/N). You know I missed you in my expressionist class” he said.
“Yeah, I had some work to do” you answered, and Bellamy looked at you. His hand rested on his gun, but you shook your head. By the next level, even more people joined you. You and Bellamy stepped backward, staying in the background.
When you arrived at level 5, you grabbed Bellamy’s hand and walked out of the elevator. But before you could, your professor noticed Bellamy’s wounds.
“Hey, you’re bleeding. Are you alright?” If you wanted Bellamy to be unknown, you had to do something.
“You’re exposed. We need to retrace your steps and find the breach” you said, guiding Bellamy back into the elevator again. “You better go,” You said to the professor. You put your hands on Bellamy’s neck.
“What about you?”
“This is my job, I’ll be fine” He left and you waited for the doors to close. When they did you looked at Bellamy, who was already looking at you. You let your hand down and sighed. This was going to be hard.
You and Bellamy got on the level and you led the way. You walked around the corner to find a class full of kids going inside their classroom. You backed up, pulling Bellamy with you. You watched them until they were all inside, and then walked around the corner.
“Mister?” A kid showed up behind Bellamy and touched his hand. You stood behind Bellamy, smiling at the kid. Bellamy looked at you.
“Are you on the ground unit? My dad’s training for a ground unit” Bellamy was looking at the kid now, still shocked by his sudden appearance. After a painful silence, Bellamy spoke.
“It’s pretty cool up there. I hope he makes it” The kid smiled, and then it occurred to you. You recognized this kid. Before he walked away, the kid looked at you.
“Bye (Y/N)”
“Bye sweetie,” You told him, trying to smile. When the kid walked away, Bellamy saw a nametag on his backpack. You were right. You had killed his father. Your eyes found Bellamy’s, and you tried to hold in your tears.
“They’re just kids”
“I’m pretty sure there were kids in space too,” You said, turning around. “Come, we’re almost there”
When the dorm came in sight, you turned around to face Bellamy.
“There they are,” you said. You saw Jasper and Monty packing their bags, what meant President Wallace had succeeded in stopping the operations.
Bellamy was about to say something when the alarm went off and the doors closed. Two other guards were guarding the door, and Jasper ran to the door on his side. He looked through the glass, and you made eye-contact with him.
“What the hell is going on?” Bellamy asked, but you didn’t know.
“I don’t know. It’s not a breach, but it can’t be good,” Bellamy looked behind him, and his eyes met Jasper’s. Jasper’s eyes grew, he recognized him.
“Get me to that radio” Bellamy said, and you nodded.
“Camp Jaha, this is mount weather. anyone read me?” You and Bellamy had found the radio, and he was now reaching for Clarke.
“Bellamy?” you heard a familiar voice say through the radio. It was Clarke. You walked up to Bellamy and stood beside him, and he looked up at you.
“Clarke?”
“Are you all right?”
“I’m fine. But that’s it for the good news. We have to talk fast, something has changed. Jasper, Monty, everyone is locked in the dorm”
“But they are alive? All of them?”
“I think so, for now. (Y/N) says they are already using their blood. Things will get ugly in here real fast,”
“(Y/N)’s with you?”
“She helped me escape,” Bellamy said, looking into your eyes. “If not for her, I’d be dead” You smiled at him. You did what you had to do.
“And Clarke, there are kids in here. We need a plan that doesn’t kill everyone” Bellamy said.
“I hear you. But we can’t do anything until you disable the acid fog. Raven’s gonna help you”
“Got it. What else?”
“You have to figure out a way to free the grounder prisoners. There is a whole army inside that mountain and they don’t even realize it”
“a Trojan horse. Good plan”
“What does (Y/N) think? Is it doable?” You shook your head slightly, It would take a lot of time to free all of them and it would be dangerous. Bellamy saw you shaking your head but said something else to Clarke.
“She says It’s not a problem” you sighed.
“good”
When you walked outside the room, the familiar sound of your alarm sounded. You turned to face Bellamy.
“They need me,” you said, looking at him. “Please don’t do anything stupid”
“I won’t,” he said, and he send you a look before you walked away.

I loved the latest part of Mountain girl, I personally think it's great that you don't skip the episodes where Bellamy is not yet in Mt. Weather. I really like, when fanfic is not about just two people but also interacting with others.
Thank you for your support! It’s nice to see that someone thinks so too :)

“Maya?” as soon as your friend opened her eyes you rushed forward. You grabbed her hand and brushed it, while she sat up straight. The treatment had worked, Jasper’s blood had worked.
“Welcome back,” Doctor Tsing said to her.
“What happened?” she asked you, confused.
“containment breach in the dorm, you are damn lucky” You explained to her.
“No one’s ever been as sick as you and come back,” The doctor said.
“How do you feel?” you asked Maya.
“I feel… great. How is that possible?” You stepped aside and Jasper came in her view.
“Jasper saved you,” you said.
“Hey,” He said quietly. At that moment the president son came in, Cage.
“Can we speak outside, please?” He said to Tsing, and she walked outside. “You too (Y/N)”
“It was an emergency, we couldn’t reach you in time” Tsing explained, and you guessed she was talking about Maya.
“You expect us to believe that?” Cage said.
“Sir, I apologize for going around you, but it worked”
“How is the patient?”
“her recovery is miraculous-”
“I was referring to Jasper”
“He’ll recover, as I assured you he would”
“That’s not the point,” Cage said, “You disobeyed a direct order from the president not to experiment with those kids”
“Mister President, why bring them here if not to use them?”
“I’m sorry to interrupt you,” You said, “But what are we talking about? I had no idea you wanted to use them for their blood. And why the hell-”
“That’s none of your concern,” Cage said to you.
“Then why did you bring me here?”
“Shouldn’t you be with your monsters?” Doctor Tsing said.
“They’re not monsters, they’re soldiers”
“Excuse me, what monsters-” you started, but The president interrupted you.
“Sorry (Y/N), maybe it was a mistake to bring you here. I thought doctor Tsing has told you more by now”
“I am telling her everything she needs to know,” She said.
“Well, that’s clearly not enough,” Cage said.
“That’s enough, both of you. We all have jobs to do. Mine is to be obeyed. And yours is to teach (Y/N) everything about what we do here because she is important to our future” He said to doctor Tsing. And then he looked at you.
“Yes sir,” She said, “Follow me (Y/N)” You walked after her after the president gave you one last smile, but you couldn’t return one. Your head was spinning after the conversation, and full of questions.
“What was that al about?” You asked Tsing as soon as you were in the elevator.
“It was the thing I wanted to show you. I’ve done some research. If I’m right, the blood of the 47 will give us a chance to live on the ground-”
“So you want to use them for their blood?” you said with wide eyes. How could she be so ridiculous? Everyone welcomed them in their house, and now she wanted to use their blood? There was no way in hell you would agree to this.
“Yes. Think about it (Y/N), we could finally go to the ground” She smiled at the idea, but you didn’t.
“So you want to kill others to-” you couldn’t finish your sentence because the elevator door went open. Two men stepped in and the doctor gave you a look to stay quiet. You looked at the floor, for now, you would shut your mouth. But you would not give up your new friends.
When you and Tsing got out, she stopped and looked at you.
“(Y/N), I need you to keep this to yourself. The president is still deciding-”
“Don’t worry,” you said to her. You knew deep inside that if you told your friends things wouldn’t end well. But if she made you choose between the ground and your friend's lives, she didn’t know you very well.
“It has been three days and Maya’s numbers are still climbing. It’s too soon to be sure, but… I believe she may actually be metabolizing radiation on her own now” It had been three days. Three days you had to keep your mouth shut, and the word hard was an understanding. The idea of your friends hung upside down didn’t leave your mind, and you couldn’t believe doctor Tsing. You had always seen her as a nice person, but now you knew that deep inside she wasn’t. She was willing to let others die to help herself.
The president turned his chair around and looked at her.
“Jasper’s blood was eight times more effective than any outsider we’ve ever measured” she continued.
“You’re saying that it’s a permanent solution?” Cage said, he probably couldn’t believe what he just heard.
“She’s saying it’s possible. But she can not be sure” You explained, you wanted to do everything to make the president say no.
“In the meantime, sir, you have to let me move forward with the 47,” She said, and this left you dumbstruck. You looked at her with wide eyes. Then your eyes found the president, waiting for his words. It felt like forever, but finally, a word left his mouth.
“No” You sighed. Maybe there was someone not totally crazy in this room besides yourself.
‘Dad, I agree with her” Cage said, and you glared at him. “I know that the plan was to assimilate them into the gene pool, but this changes everything,”
“She just said, it’s not proven,” The president said.
“Mr. President, even if it’s not a permanent solution… with their blood, we’ll need fewer treatments. we’ll live longer and we’ll feel better”
“Jasper volunteered. I will not put those kids in cages like animals” Thank God for the president.
“No one wants that. If you can convince the rest of them to volunteer, great! But what if you can’t?” Cage said.
“I’m sure (Y/N) can do that for us,” Tsing said, and you glared at her.
“I won’t push them into something that can cost them their lives”
“You won’t have to. Just, have a nice conversation” Cage said to you, and he held your shoulder. “You can do this (Y/N)” he said. You shrugged off his shoulder and looked at the president walking away.
“Come (Y/N), let’s go,” he said, and you followed him.
You and the president walked into Jasper, the person you were trying to find. He was holding a box full of ‘thank you’ cards and presents.
“Jasper,” The president said, walking up to him, “We’d hoped we would catch you before you were discharged” Jasper looked at you and you send him a little smile. You still didn’t like this.
“I see I’m not the only one impressed by your courage,” he said, pointing at the box.
“I just did what anyone would do,” Jasper said.
“You are a hero Jasper,” You said to him, and a smile appeared on his face.
“I’d like to believe that’s true, Jasper. After what happened to Maya, I’m sure it woný come as a surprise to you to learn that we’re not entirely safe here. Mount Weather wasn’t build to last this long. Over time, trace amounts of radiation seep inside. The breach in the dorm is an extreme example. We have methods for dealing with this, but those methods pale compared to what we saw with you and Maya.”
“Sir, I don’t think I could to that for everyone”
“of course not. But if you could inspire your friends to follow your example, imagine the difference you could make here,” You saw that Jasper was thinking about it, and you shook your head slightly.
“(Y/N)!” you heard your best friend call, so you turned around. Maya walked toward you holding a notebook.
“Hey, what’s up?” you asked her, but then you saw that something was wrong.
“I found out something, we have to tell the others,” she said, and she walked out of the room. You followed her and stepped into the elevator, while she pressed the button to level five.
“They are watching them everywhere, so you have to act like everything is okay”
“What are you even talking about, what’s wrong?” Maya looked into the camera and turned around. You stood beside her, and she opened the notebook out of the camera’s sight. There stood: “the breach wasn’t an accident”. Off course it wasn’t, you knew that it wasn’t right. Tsing had it planned out the whole time, and you didn’t see it. You shook your head and turned around again, while the elevator door opened.
“Hey, guys!” Maya said cheerfully. She held up her notebook and Monty and Jasper read it. When she walked away you waited until they followed her, and they did.
Maya led you to a basement, where you could talk freely.
“We don’t have much time,” she said.
“What the hell is going on?” Jasper said. Maya pressed her lips together and tears formed in her eyes. You put your arm around her and you heard Jasper say her name. She apologized.
“Maya? What do you mean it wasn’t an accident?” he said.
“she means that they exposed her to radiation on purpose. It was to get you to agree to be her blood brother” Monty said, and Maya nodded.
“He’s right,” you said, “This is why Clarke escaped”
“Did you know about this?” Jasper asked you and you shook your head.
“Why would they do that to you?” Jasper said to Maya.
“because the standard treatment sucks compared to you” You explained.
“What’s the standard treatment?” Monty asked, afraid of the answer.
“over there,” Maya said quietly, pointing around the corner. She walked to it and you followed her. The boys stepped forward to the window and looked inside. Terror crossed their face and you looked at the floor. You were ashamed of your people.
“Why are you showing us this?” Monty asked Maya.
“Because I’m afraid you’re next”
“Who else knows about this?”
“Everyone” you answered, “nobody talks about it”
“without the treatments, we’d die. What are we supposed to do?” Maya said.
“Die,” Monty said, still looking through the window.
“You have to get out of here,” you said, looking at Jasper.
“Dante said we could leave, right?” Monty said, turning around.
“He was lying. He knew I’d be too scared to leave. Just like he knew I’d do what had to be done to save Maya” Jasper said.
“If Clarke got out, we can too,” Monty said.
“You’ll never make it. Ever since Clarke disappeared, security all around has been increased.”
“We have to try!” Monty said, almost shouting.
“We're not leaving, I’m not leaving the others behind” Jasper concluded. “We volunteer”
“You’re all set Monty,” Tsing told the boy, who was lying on a hospital bed. “The general anesthetic will take effect shortly”
“You won’t feel a thing” you reassured him, sending him a smile. Tsing walked away, leaving you and Jasper with Monty.
“How high are you right now?” He asked Monty, and you laughed.
“I almost don’t care that there is a six-inch spike in my neck” He answered. Monty sighed and you smiled before checking on the others.
“When is this going to end?” Maya said to you, looking at Jasper. She was talking about the 47 volunteering with their blood, what they did recently.
“I don’t know… They think they are buying themselves some time so that Clarke can save them, but I don’t know if they are”
“What do you mean? Did Tsing say something to you?”
“She is almost -obsessed- with their blood. For now, things are okay, but when they stop volunteering, or they become too weak to give more blood… I’m sure she will find out something worse than this”
“But for now the president is on our side, right?”
“Yeah, but Cage doesn’t listen to him”
“What can we do?” May asked, looking at you desperately. You wish you could answer, but you didn’t know.
“(Y/N) we need your opinion again,” Tsing said to you when she contacted you. You really didn’t wanna go, but there was no way ignoring her. You knew you were important, and she needed you for everything. But deep down, you didn’t want to imagine what you were going to see when you stepped in the room.
“I’ll be there in a minute”
“Welcome,” she said when you walked into the room. When your eyes focused on what was in front of you, you almost fell. From this day, you officially hated doctor Tsing. In front of you laid Keenan, a girl you knew, dead. Her body was full of blisters, and you couldn’t believe your eyes.
“Why did you bring her here?” Cage asked the doctor after he saw your reaction.
“She has to see why the blood of her friends is so important,” she said, looking at you. “Based on these results, treatments with the blood of the 47 will never be enough to get us to the surface,”
“Why are you saying that like it’s good news?” Cage asked.
“Because it’s made me start over,” you knew she would not give up. “If treatments with their blood give us temporary immunity, how do we extend that immunity forever?”
“Bone marrow,” you said without any emotion, still looking at the body. You missed the smirk that formed on Tsing’s face when you said that.
“What would happen to the donors?” Cage asked, and you looked at him.
“There’s 382 of us. That’s roughly eight procedures for each of the kids,”
“You didn’t answer my question”
“They all die,” you said. You turned around, opened the door, and walked out of the room.
“STOP IT! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” you yelled when you walked into doctor Tsing drilling into Harper’s body. It was horrible, the girl screamed and she kept drilling. You wanted to stop her, but you couldn’t do anything. You needed to warn the others. They had to get out of here.
In the corner of the room, you saw Cage, just standing there.
“Why are you letting her do this? What is wrong with you?” you said, walking up to him. He grabbed your shoulders and held you down.
“Listen to me, (Y/N). I told you earlier that you are a great use for everyone, don’t ruin that by stopping this. This is our future,”
“This is your future” You snapped, and shrugged his hands of you. You walked out the room and slammed the door shut behind you. It was time to see if the president really was on your side.
“I have to talk to the president,” you said to the guard in front of his office. He nodded and opened the door for you, and you nodded thanks.
“President Wallace?” You said, and the president turned around.
“Hello, (Y/N)”
“I have to tell you something important”
“Wallace?” you heard a familiar voice say behind you, and you turned around. It was Jasper, with a desperate look on his face.
“Can we talk?” he said to the president.
“I see you both need something from me,” the president said, and he walked up to you. You nodded to Jasper, letting him talk first.
“My friends. Two of them are missing” Jasper said. You took a deep breath, looks like you came here for the same thing.
“Tell me where they are,” Jasper said, tears forming in his eyes.
“Jasper, I don’t know what you’r-”
“Stop lying,”
“Excuse me?”
“You lied about there not being survivors from the Ark. You lied about Maya’s accident. I don’t even know how many lies you told about Clarke”
“Please, sit down-”
“No!” Jasper yelled, and you backed up. within seconds, Jasper grabbed a sword and held it against Wallace’s neck. You held your breath.
“You’re gonna tell me the truth,” He said with big eyes.
“No,” you said, making him look at you. “I am”
You slowly reached for Jasper’s hand and reached for the sword.
“What are you talking about, (Y/N)?” The president asked you.
“I’m afraid your son and doctor Tsing have been doing some stuff behind your back. Some stuff I don’t agree with” The president walked to his desk and pressed a button, what made the guard come in.
“Yes, sir?”
“Could you please find out where Dr. Tsing and my son are at the moment?” The guard nodded and walked away.
“Let’s go find your friends,” he said to Jasper, and then he looked at you. You knew that you couldn’t go with them because then doctor Tsing knew it was you who told him about the bone marrow.
“I can’t come with you,” You said to Jasper, and he nodded. You stood with them in the elevator but got out on level five.
“Thank you for telling us this, (Y/N)” The president said before the door closed. You nodded at him.
You paced up and down the room, afraid that Tsing and Case would found out that you told the President and Jasper about their experiments. There were only 2 patients in medical, and they both were asleep.
You looked at one of them, a woman you had seen a few times. You walked up to her and looked at her state, which was surprising. At that moment, a guard walked in.
“Seargent Lovejoy, can I help you?” you asked.
“Where’s Thorpe? I need to go over the treatment schedule so I know how many cages to clear” He responded.
“He’s not here, I think he just left”
“Thanks, I’ll try to catch him” He walked away, but turned around again when the machine next to you made a sound. The sound meant that the patient’s treatment was done, but she was done too soon. Grounder blood wasn’t this effective. It had to be someone from the Ark if Jasper was right about saying there were survivors.
Lovejoy looked at her files, and his eyes grew.
“She’s done an hour early,” he said, “Twenty-five-minute treatment, that’s gotta be a record” You needed to figure out to who the blood belonged to.
“You really need Thorpe now, huh? He said something about going to the mass hall”
“Thanks,” He said, handing you the papers. You smiled and waited for him to leave the room. When the doors closed, your eyes followed the blood pipes. It led to the room where you found Clarke, where Mount Weather gets their blood. You scanned your card and sighed before stepping into the room.

You knocked on the door and opened it. Miller was sitting on his bed, and you were holding his bag full of supplies.
“It’s time to get out of here” you smiled.
“Finally,” he said, standing up. “I’ve had enough of the puking”
“Yeah, I understand” you laughed, and gave him his bag.
You, Maya and Miller, stepped out of the elevator on level five. You already heard the sound of joy coming from the big room, and you smiled.
“Miller” a kid called who had seen you come in. Miller walked to his friends and you and Maya followed.
“Look who finally got released,” Jasper said, standing next to Clarke’s bed. You walked up to the two and greeted them with a smile.
“I’m glad you’re okay,” Clarke said. This gave you a feeling that she was starting to be okay with the idea of being in here, and you were glad.
“Yeah, it only took, what, three surgeries?” he said and looked over at Maya. “I hear you’re fitting right in,” Clarke looked at Maya, who was looking at the ground. You stepped in, giving Miller his medicines.
“Twice a day, don’t forget. You’ll be okay in a few days, here” you said, handing him his bag.
“Thanks”
“Maya!” Jasper said, and he walked beside her.
“Are you going to have breakfast?” he asked, and she smiled. You walked in the other direction, leaving the two behind. You were just about the leave the room full of teenagers when a familiar alarm went off.
You looked over at Maya, you two needed to go the medical facility.
“Hey, what’s going on?” Clarke asked her.
“A surface patrol is back, and someone needs medical attention” she explained, “We have to go to quarantine”
When the two of you arrived, you immediately started to put on a protection suit.
“What’re we dealing with?” you asked another doctor, who was also changing.
“They were attacked. one dead in room 2” He answered. When you heard the word ‘dead’ you held your breath. You hated death.
“The other took off his gloves and mask to treat him. he’s still in Decon. He’ll need a treatment soon”
“Who attacked them?” you heard a familiar voice say behind you. You turned around and found Clarke and Jasper standing there. Off course it was Clarke.
“What are they doing here?” The doctor asked you and Maya, but you didn’t know. Before you could answer, Clarke grabbed his key card and walked to the door.
“Wait, it’s not safe!” the doctor warned her, but she had already scanned the card and opened the door.
“It is for us,” she said, “let’s go, Jasper”
“someone’s gotta keep her out of trouble” Jasper mumbled, before going after her. You and Maya stayed behind, looking at each other.
Later that day during dinner, you and Maya sat on your usual spot together. When you looked around you saw Clarke running up to the president, and asking him something. Maya saw it too.
“I wonder what’s going around in her head,” She said.
“Yeah, me too,” you said. You usually liked everyone, but Clarke’s actions made you nervous.  Everyone in Mount Weather welcomed the 48 into their home, and some people were grateful for that like Jasper and Monty. But Clarke… You didn’t understand why she had to act so suspicious.
You looked over the president and saw that he put his plate away, leading Clarke out of the room.
“Come, we could go with them”
“You go, I’ll be here,” Maya said, looking at Jasper. You nodded and walked after Clarke and the president.
When you put on your work suit, you scanned your key card and walked into the medical facility. You walked through the halls to find doctor Tsing pushing a bed, with what looked like a body on it. You ran to her and she looked at you.
“Hello (Y/N), I didn’t know you were working today”
“I’m not, I just wanted to do some extra work” You made up, and you looked at the body shape. “Can I ask you what you are doing?”
“This is the body of this morning, I’m about to show it to the president”
“Can I come with you?”
“of course you can, follow me,” She said, and you nodded. Working with doctor Tsing had its advantages. You walked a few meters until another doctor opened a door.
“I’m sorry to keep you waiting,” Tsing said, talking to the president. You help her push the body inside.
“We had to finish the decontamination” She continued and walked to the other side of the bed next to the president. You stood beside Clarke, and send her a look.
“Thank you, doctor Tsing,” The president said.
“The man with the burns, how is he?” Clarke suddenly asked.
“He’s improving”
“I’d like to talk to him” Clark demanded. You were about to say that she couldn’t, but Tsing spoke up before you.
“Sir, only patients are allowed in medical”
“We can arrange that,” The president said, and you opened your eyes widely. It was nice of the president to give Clarke what she wanted, but now he went a little too far. Tsing sighed and slowly removed the blanket from the body.
“Would you like to see the exit wound?” she asked Clarke when the wound was visible. She began lifting the body to its side, and you helped her.
“Sergeant Langston was forced to push the arrow out in the field” She explained, and you saw Clarke looking at the wound closely.
“Thank you (Y/N)” she said, and you smiled. You looked over at Clarke as a confused expression crossed her face.
The next day, you walked into the dining room after working with doctor Tsing again. You looked around, and you noticed it looked empty that day. You saw Monty sitting at a table, alone.
You figured it would be nice to keep him company, so you walked his way. You picked your food first, but when you walked to the table you saw that Jasper had joined him.
You walked to them slowly and overheard their conversation.
“I was hoping you were Clarke” you heard Monty say. Was Clarke gone? You hadn’t seen her since they showed her the body, but where could she be?
Then you remember that the doctor told you about her. She told you that Clarke had a mental breakdown and ripped open her stitches, but Clarke wouldn’t do that without a good reason.
You decided not to eat, but to find out what happened to Clarke. And you started right away.
You threw away your food and walked out of the room.
You scanned your keycard, opening the door to the medical facility. You had it all planned out in your head, first you checked quarantine, after that the normal compartment.
In case you bumped into someone, your excuse would be that you just wanted to check on the patients, looking if they needed help.
You reached the door that gave access to quarantine, and you put on your usual protection suit. You scanned your keycard again and walked into the hall. You looked through every window of every white room, but there was no one there.  You figured that this meant that Clarke didn’t go crazy because then she would be in there.
You put off your suit and walked to the normal compartment with patients from Mount Weather itself. You rushed to the door and scanned your keycard, but you bumped into another person. You almost fell but the person grabbed your arms. You looked up to find doctor Tsing, who was just exiting the room.
“I”m so sorry,” You said, letting go of her arms.
“It’s okay (Y/N), what are you doing here?”
“I just wanted to check on the patients,” You said, trying to look determined.
“I see you are spending a lot of your free time helping around here, that’s impressive” She complimented you.
“Well,” you shrugged, “Anything to help other people”
“And that’s why I’m grateful for having you,” She said and you faked a smile.
“If you have time, I would want to show you some things I’ve been working for” She continued.
“Yeah, off course”
“But I need you to know that it is confidential, and you can’t tell any of your friends”
You wanted to find Clarke, so you tried to end the conversation. You didn’t really pay attention to her words.
“I won’t,” You said, and your hands searched for the doorknob. “I will see you later, then,” Tsing nodded and disappeared into the hallway. You closed the door behind you and sighed.
A moment later you realized that you were actually standing where you wanted to be, and you looked around.
There lay only one person, the man who survived the attack on the ground. When you got closer you noticed that he was sleeping, so you let him be. You scanned the rest of the room and saw that everything looked normal, except for one bed. The blankets weren’t lying like they had to, and it seemed like someone had laid there.
You walked over to the bed and picked up the clipboard with names of patients. You scanned all the dates until you found the right one, and you weren’t surprised when you saw the patient’s name. Clarke. Clarke was supposed to be in this bed, but you couldn’t see her.
Where could she go? There were no other doors in the room, so she must’ve sneaked out in a different way.
If you would be in her position and wanted to escape where would you look for? A door, but there wasn’t an open door. A window, but there wasn’t a window either. Wait, there was one. You walked to the other side of the room, and there on the wall was one small window. But the window wasn’t broken, and it was too small for Clarke to go through.
Was there another way to go to the room behind the wall? You looked at the wall closely and figured it out. She went through the airlock. And you knew where that led to.
You scanned your keycard again and walked inside the chamber where the blood came from. The blood your people used to clean their body of radiation wounds. The first things you saw were two bodies hung upside down, and you swallowed.
You knew your people did what they had to do to survive, but that didn’t make this okay. You always tried to ignore the fact that your people kidnapped grounders for their blood, but it truly made you sick.
What would Clarke do in here? For what you knew, she hated grounders. And you guessed that she didn’t want to be hung up as well, so why would she stay in here instead of run away?
Maybe others got here before you and captured her. You walked to the cages slowly and looked inside them. Some grounders reached for you with their hands, and you backed up a little. You put your hands on your hair, how could your people be like this?
You knew you needed to focus on finding Clarke, so you kept walking.
When you saw blonde hair in a lower cage, you bend down your knees.
“(Y/N)?”
“Clarke? What the hell are you doing here?” you said, and you opened the cage. “How did you even manage to open the cage? And why?” You asked her and helped her get out. When she stood on both of her feet you saw a grounder coming out of the cage as well. She immediately shot forward to attack you, but Clarke stopped her.
“Anya!” she said, and the grounder stopped. “(Y/N), I know her. I just wanted to set her free-”
“I understand” you interrupted her, breathing heavily.
“Why are you doing this?” Clarke asked, and you understood she talked about your people.
“I don’t know. They use this to help us recover from wounds, but-”
“But what?”
“Clarke, I do not agree with this okay. What they do is wrong, and I wish there was another way.” You said, and you saw Anya glaring at you. “I can help you guys escape”
“What about my friends?” Clarke said.
“Clarke if you want to leave, you have to go right now. Soon the other doctors will come and if they see you-”
“Why are you helping me?”
“I told you I don’t agree with this. And, no offense, everyone saw you acting suspiciously. If you stay here and tell your friends what you saw here, the president will notice. And I’m afraid that when he knows-”
“That he will use our blood,” She said. You smiled weakly at her.
“I can tell your friends that you left” She nodded. You suddenly turned around when you heard the sound of a keycard opening the door. You pushed Clarke and Anya in their cage and walked to the entrance of the room. It was doctor Tsing.
You smiled at her and she smiled back.
“I think you’ve done enough (Y/N), just go and spend time with your friends,” she said. You nodded at her and looked at Clarke for one more time, before leaving the room.
After you got out of the elevator you walked into the diner room, searching for Jasper and Monty. You saw them sitting at a table, and Maya was coming up your way. When she reached you, you grabbed her wrist and pulled her behind you.
“Hey-” she said, but you kept walking into the boy’s direction. When you reached the table you sat down, and so did Maya.
“What is it?” Monty asked you. You took a deep breath.
“I just went looking for Clarke, and I found her”
“Where is she?” Jasper asked.
“She is not here anymore,” You said, and the other three were confused. “She escaped”
“How did she escape? And why, why would she leave us behind?”
“I kind of helped her I guess. I’ll tell you later why she did it, but I need to you to act normal. The president didn’t find out yet, but if he does-”  Monty got up and left, probably upset. You saw Maya looking at Jasper, and you knew it was time to leave.
“I’m sorry,” you told him before getting up.
“We need to go after her” You heard Monty say when you walked into their room. He heard you and Maya enter and turned around. He sighed and walked to his bed.
“Where are you going?” Jasper asked.
“To the dropship, for starters”
“You’re leaving?” Maya asked him.
“Yes, we are,” He said.
“No we’re not,” Jasper said louder.
“What would Clarke do?” Monty asked Jasper, and he stayed silent.
“You can’t, it’s too dangerous,” Maya told Jasper.
“Don’t worry, I’m a coward”
“No you’re not, you’re smart. You can’t make her come back-”
“Monty is right. she’d go after me, but why am I so scared to do the same thing?”
“I never told you the reason why she escaped” You interrupted their conversation, and all their eyes were on you. But before you could go on, you heard a sound coming from your pocket. It meant that you were needed in medical, so you sighed. You would tell them another time.
“I have to go, but please,” you said, looking into Monty’s eyes, “Please wait with leaving”
You hurried and stepped out of the room, but the second you stood in the hallway the doors to the room closed. You turned around and looked through the window.
What you saw next was burned into your memories for the rest of your life. Your best friend Maya’s skin burned because of radiation, and you heard her scream.
Jasper and Monty banged on the door and you scanned your keycard, but it didn’t work.
“Maya! MAYA!” you screamed, and tears formed in your eyes. Seconds later the elevator opened to reveal doctor Tsing with a bed, and you screamed:  “Help her!”
“temperature’s 104 and rising”
“Blood pressure, 180 over 120,” You said sighing, standing next to the heart monitor.
“Blister coverage, now 75 percent”
“Standard treatment isn’t working,” You said, your eyes dropping. You stood next to doctor Tsing in your protection suit, and Monty and Jasper were in the room too. A tear started to crawl down your cheek.
“Wait,” Jasper said, “What does that mean?Is there a nonstandard treatment?” Tsing looked at him.
“There is one thing we could try”
“What are you talking about?” You said you didn’t know what she was saying. There wasn’t another treatment. For what you knew, your best friend was gone.
