If you live in Texas’ 28th congressional district, you have a big opportunity to make positive change on May 24th, 2022!

In the 2020 Democratic Primary, Jessica Cisneros came within four points of successfully beating the most conservative Democrat in the entire House of Representatives: Henry Cuellar. Since then, Congressman Cuellar’s home has been raided by the FBI as part of a foreign corruption investigation. Now, Cisneros is taking him on again.

On May 24th, south Texans will have the ability to replace a corrupt right-wing Democrat with a progressive woman who is not accepting any corporate money. Cisneros is running on Medicare for All, a $15 minimum wage, immigrant rights, reproductive justice, and more; see more of her platform here. While her opponent has been endorsed by the Democratic House Majority Leader, a number of progressive Democrats have broken ranks to endorse her, including Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Elizabeth Warren.

Alongside his latest ethics issues, current congressman Henry Cuellar is pro-life, one of the only House Democrats to vote against legal marijuana, the only House Democrat to vote against pro-union labor reform, and is considered the oil industry’s favorite Democrat. Voting for Jessica Cisneros would put an end to all of this.

We came within less than 3,000 votes of south Texas joining the Squad in 2020. This race is competitive, but it can definitely be won.

Website Launched !

After a lot of tinkering, and a lot of painstaking translating into Dutch, my author website is finally done! It's fully available in English and Dutch, and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

It doesn't have any content on there that I currently do not have on my blog here, but I will put exclusive snippets and excerpts in the newsletter that I host over there! I will also release my short story on my website when it is done.

Thanks so much for the tag @ink-fireplace-coffee!!! I haven’t been strictly working on my wips like, at all, but I have been writing random snippets here and there, so I thought I’d use one I wrote yesterday. It’s...well, you can read it and see:

When everything is quiet but your head, you wonder why people love you.

You have always been a selfish creature, and jealous to boot. You have a mean streak in you fit near enough for murder and a vindictiveness no one could find attractive. You’re indifferent to people more often than you can be seen to care for them; sometimes you wonder if what you feel is really love at all. Perhaps It is just some shadow of that greater emotion you have heard so much about (you would not die for any of these people, you think. What, after all, is grief to your fear of death? Of course, sometimes you wonder if death would be a freedom).

These are just the last three fics I wrote. I appreciate the likes, believe me I do, but you have to understand. Likes do nothing for content creators. It’s the reblogs. Because that’s how you find shit on your dashboard. Through reblogs. Not likes. This isn’t twitter or tiktok or instagram. This is a website that’s run by the reblog system.

Reblogging helps content creators put their stuff out there. Why do you think so many people stopped writing fanfic and creating beautiful fanart and edits? It’s because they put in hours of work and don’t get nearly enough notes for their masterpieces. Yes we do this because we enjoy it but like...some validation won’t hurt. A boost of confidence here and there might be all someone needs to finish whatever thing they started and left.

Anyway, I’m still going to reblog my shit...

Note to self for the future:

be comfortable writing small things. Not everything has to be a project or a story or even a one shot. It doesnt even have to be something to post. The value of writing isnt based on how finished it is or how many people its shared with. Dont be scared to do it for nothing, just because you want to.
