Summary: Four years after the Battle of New York, Clint has created a stable life for himself and his young daughter, free of the dangers of SHIELD work. The Winter Soldier turned himself in to the Avengers, expecting a death sentence or lifetime of imprisonment.  Instead, he found absolution and an invitation to join the team.  He is still adjusting to life as an Avenger when he meets Clint Barton and his daughter.  The young man that Bucky Barnes used to be was wholeheartedly enthusiastic about meeting his soulmate, but Bucky is not sure there’s a place for him in his soulmate’s life anymore.  Clint has spent his whole life dreading meeting his soulmate, drawing false conclusions from the hurtful words that were spoken in haste.  They are both drawn to each other and are willing to give this a try, but will have to work together to overcome the shadows of their past. Excerpt: It’s one of the largest soulmarks Bucky has ever seen.  The script in Bucky’s neat cursive handwriting starts at the crest of one shoulder and arcs below Clint’s collarbones to end at the crest of the other shoulder, golden letters that no tattoo ink has ever been able to replicate.   What kind of idiot are you?

Summary: Hydra had thought they had gotten lucky when they first acquired the man who would become their greatest asset in the form of the Winter Soldier. The man had zero indications of a soulmate, and that fact lasted for decades... Until it didn't. Summary: Valentine’s Day 1929: After accidentally witnessing mafia boss Kingpin massacring several of his rivals, Bucky and Steve take a job as musicians in a traveling band so they can hitch a free ride to Florida in order to skip town. The catch is that they have to dress as women to fit in with the band. Things get complicated even further when Bucky falls head over heels for the band’s lead singer Clint Barton, Steve catches the eye of local millionaire Tony Stark, and their hotel turns out to be the venue for the mafia’s annual beach holiday... It’s got flappers, it’s got jazz, it's got more fake identities than you can shake a stick at, and it’s got a hot water bottle full of bootleg liquor.

What Spring Does With The Cherry Trees by bittercape

Summary: This is a story about broken people mending themselves, and lost people finding each other. Bucky needs somewhere to live, somewhere he feels safe, while he starts the hard work of figuring out who he is now he’s not just the Winter Soldier. Clint has a spare apartment in his building, and all the time in the world to fall slowly in love. Over the course of a year, they find themselves getting closer as they grow and change. Featuring: missions, fire escapes, bath time, cats and dogs, and a memorable trip to IKEA.  

He barely has time to slip back into relaxation before the bathroom door opens soundlessly, with a brush of cooler air over his right arm, slung over the bathtub’s edge. Clint doesn’t say a word, and eventually, Bucky opens his eyes just as much as he has to to be able to see. Clint is in the doorway. He’s gotten a tan from somewhere, which is all the more noticeable for November, and there’s a smattering of freckles across his cheeks and nose. His hand is raised, as if to knock, and his mouth is slightly open. His eyes are stuck to Bucky’s body in the water, and there’s a rising flush on his neck.

You Can Never Go Home Again by FlawedAmythyst

Summary: Clint and Bucky have been fucking after missions for a while but as long as Bucky tells himself they’re just buddies letting off steam, he can pretend it doesn’t mean anything queer. Which works great, right up until it doesn’t. Just as he’s trying to distance himself from Clint to avoid the mess he’s made, an altercation with a mutant ends with both of them sent back in time to the place Bucky still considers home: 1939 Brooklyn. Trying to lay low and not fuck up the timeline, they're forced to depend on each other to survive in the past. While Bucky slowly starts to work through his issues, Clint throws a wrench in the works by making pals with the guys next door - a much younger Bucky and Steve.

Summary: The three things most likely to get Clint killed are his stomach, his mouth, and his libido. The fourth most likely thing to get Clint killed is his completely normal and reasonable attraction to Bucky, who moved into Clint’s walk-in closet after getting Clint shot by the tracksuits. Clint wasn’t expecting the Winter Boyfriend and everything he entails, but, eventually, there he is. The thing most likely to get Bucky killed is a handful of words in a little red book. He takes care of that before going on the run from Hydra. Or: A year in the life of Bucky and Clint featuring rooftop cookouts, domestic!Avengers, slight kidnapping, developing background Stony, a helpful Tony, deaf!Bucky and a happy deaf!ending. Summary: Bucky doesn’t panic. Or, more accurately, he doesn’t allow himself to panic. Not if he can help it. He can feel the first threads of it clawing at his throat now, though. He walks as fast as he can without jostling the whimpering mass of fur in his arms too much, squashing down the images of Barton bleeding out on the floor, of his lifeless body being carried away, no idea whether he or the dog are going to make it. When Bucky finds Clint and his dog bleeding out in an alleyway, he doesn’t expect his life to become all about dog-sitting duties, instagram, and shitty daytime TV gameshows. He also doesn’t expect to get drawn into Clint’s latest drama. He really should have known better.

Patricia the Superior Vehicle: The Helpfulness Mission by Aelfay

Summary: The Soldier is doing his best. He’s not quite up to trying to deal with Rogers, Steven G. (Captain), but he’s found another way to be helpful: keeping an eye on one Clint Barton. He’s kind of a mess, but that just gives the Soldier more ways to help, right? Clint is confused about why Natasha keeps following him around – he keeps seeing glimpses of black out of the corner of his eye. The constant presence means he’s a little suspicious of his next mission. Unfortunately, it’s still not enough to keep him from being caught. In which: Clint sings the disco stick song, Patricia is a Superior Vehicle, and the Soldier buys underwear. A balance of humor and intimacy as Clint and Bucky both recover a little bit of who they are.

Summary: After winding up in hot water with the Ukrainian mob, Clint finds himself relocating to a small town in northern Indiana to work as an elementary school gym teacher, and finds his new home invaded by a series of suspiciously wolfish puppies determined to be Lucky's BFFs, and his life invaded by over zealously friendly neighbors determined to feed him. In a startling twist of events, three of his favorite students happen to be his next door neighbors, along with their ruinously hot single dad Bucky, who proves to be just as enamored of Clint as he is of Bucky. What follows is a classic rendition of thirsting over the hot neighbor, bizarre small-town behavior, and so many puppies.

Summary: As rocky as the start of their rivalry turned friendship is, Bucky and Clint part in a friendly way after they have fought the red room. Their time apart never lasts long though, and they slowly but surely grow closer to one another. The lines between friendship and developing crushes start to blur quickly, but neither of them talks about it. But then, Clint is missing and Bucky is concerned, so he heads out on a rescue mission. As it turns out, Clint’s past has caught up with him, in the form of Swordsman, his former mentor and tormentor in the circus. The aftermath of all of this is messy, not only because Clint is struggling with old and new trauma, but Bucky has nightmares, trauma and bad days of his own to deal with. Neither of the two of them are quite ready to talk yet. But they are now closer than ever, and their ever developing, romantic feelings for one another are a whole different situation to deal with on top of everything else. It isn't until it's almost too late, that the two of them finally start having that long-overdue conversation...

Only a few days left! Artists, if you haven’t sent us your art links/thumbnails yet, please do so ASAP!

We’re two thirds of the way through the Posting Month, and there’s been such great fic and art posted already, you guys should all be very proud.

This is a reminder that everything needs to be posted by the 30th and that Artists need to email links for all their art, and a thumbnail for us to add to the masterpost, to us by the 30th as well.

The earlier you can get those to us, the earlier we can get started on making the posts, so if you’re in a position to send now, please do. We will not be chasing any we don’t receive by the 30th so if you’re liable to forget if you leave it, please do get on it now.
