please please please pleaaaaase elaborate more about the curse of nacho varga. like i'm dying to know. i never really thought about the more like, Supernatural things of gilliganverse but like... nacho putting some sort of blood curse on the salamancas makes me :eyes: so much

Nacho sacrificed his life. Not just in a sense of giving up his life, but also in being a literal blood sacrifice just like Jesus. And blood sacrifices are very powerful.

So for his sacrifice, what did he get in return? The safety of his father, but also the destruction of his enemies. Nacho hated Gus and the Salamancas equally, and by the end of Breaking Bad, all of them are dead, and all because of Nacho.

Without Nacho's involvement, there would have eventually been a winner in the battle between Gus and the cartel. Either Gus would have pulled off his revenge plot, or the cartel would have found him out and executed him. That's definitely what would have happened if Nacho chose to rat Gus out instead of going along with his lie

But because Nacho dies, Gus lives to fight another day. However, since Nacho put Hector in a coma, he ensured that Hector would survive Gus's attacks on the cartel. Gus saves him for last, assuming that he poses no threat, but Hector is the one who kills Gus by detonating Walt's bomb, using the bell Lalo gave him. Nobody wins. Everyone dies.

So the curse of Nacho Varga is really more metaphorical - there's a literal, non-magical reason his death is instrumental in everyone else's destruction. But at the same time, it feels like powerful magic - Nacho broke the cartel's cycle of violence with a truly selfless and heroic act - the sacrifice of his own life for the sake of love
