I get messages like this one every now and then. I understand if you don’t do something, you don’t really know what goes into it, so.. sure!~ Step one. Buy all the above. (Well, I mean, it doesn’t have to be that exact stuff, but you asked what I used, so there you go). Step two. Learn to sew. Learn to digitize. Digitize your embroidery. Test. Test again. Test again. Make a bear pattern. Tweak. Make another. Tweak. Make another. And anotherrrr. And on, and on, and on.. (seriously, see the prototyping bear pile photo above).  Embroider design. Cut pieces. Sew pieces. Stuff. Assemble. Add hand stitched elements.  So all that = Cap bear. The above is what I used/you need and the cost of making a Cap bear, starting from scratch. I’m sorry you think I’m charging too much for my work. I hope you find making one yourself more to your budget.

COSPLAY COMMISSION: S.Q.U.I.P - Be More Chill

Recently reopened cosplay commissions via Instagram/Twitter! I’m showcasing my first client after my hiatus from commissions and sewing in general.

She wanted a feminine version of the posted reference of SQUIP from the musical Be More Chill, and helpfully linked to a fabric she liked on spoonflower. The original pattern was a little small so I asked the shop owner to make it larger and it turned out perfect! 

Made with the custom fabric off spoonflower printed on twill, black thread, a white polyester lining and separating black zipper that I made a custom zipper pull out of with wire.

Posting this on my cosplay account instead but! Here are 5 things I created in 2017.

Mad Moxxi! Obviously my biggest build of 2017, I drafted her pattern from a custom draped coat pattern I had and slowly upgraded her from her Fanime premier to the cosplay park gathering before my surgery. She now has a lovely new home with a fantastic Borderlands friend. Thank you Tebia and Han for help with the wig and gun respectively! CREDITS: Photos L to R - Justin Davidson Photography, Syd, Tebia. Editing in the first done by the photographer and in the other two done by me (taken on my camera).

Borderlands Edits! I could probably count these as two different ones but they’re the same type of creation so counting it as one? CREDITS: Left photo taken and originally edited by - Justin Davidson Photography, cosplayer is me and I did the splash edit. Right photo taken and edited by me, cosplayers are Han (Jack) and Tebia (Tim).

Deadlock McCree Vest! I’m pretty damn proud of the free-handed Deadlock logo I leather painted onto the back.

Frame Edits! More photo editing but I really liked these. I think they would make super neat postcards or blog images. CREDITS: 1st photo is my cosplay, original shoot done by Lights Camera Action(? I think he changed his name and I hadn’t reposted to my new account yet but uh lmk if you know his new thing for me to credit?). 2nd photo is my cosplay, photo taken by Tebia. 3rd photo is my cosplay (Moxxi) and Tebia’s cosplay (Tim), photo taken by Han. 4th photo is SewingPatches and her Izzie Hearts cosplay, photo taken by me. Frame edits all done by me.

Poems - these I’m not going to post because they’re personal but I did make a good half dozen or so poems for my boyfriend when we were first starting to flirt. Cliche maybe but he definitely sparked my writing muse again <3

Special shout out to the Guzma cosplay I didn’t really get pics of and my Worick Archangelo wig I finished styling at ALA in the hotel room lmao. I might have done more but tbh I mostly did Moxxi or Tony Stark this year I think?

Hey everyone! Sorry for the lack of anything cosplay related in a while. I know I worked on editing and posting some Moxxi pics while in the start of my recovery but I’m officially over 30 days post op! I had my top surgery on Sept 20th 2017 and today when cleaning up I saw Moxxi on my dress form and decided to toss her on for shits and giggles. There is ample bagginess in the bust of this coat now that I’m post op haha. I might do a sexy guy version? But most likely I’ll do a bit of fixing for a few things and see if I can get the coat, gloves, spats, shoes and hat a new home (holster too but gun us staying with me i still want to get it signed. (hmu if interested lmao)

Surprisingly I never got a huge wave of dysphoria when wearing Moxxi, and didnt get creeped on too much beyond some guys talking to me for too long at AX and one wanting to pick me up for a photo (which is a no no matter what I’m wearing due to the APH incident at Conji lmao). She was a great last hoorah before I got to complete the next step of my transition and is one of the few lady characters I have ever actually WANTED to cosplay and I’m glad I poured as much love and effort into her as I did.

Much thanks to everyone who got me into Borderlands, were my bodyguards around cons to hide my ass when needed, still refereed to me using male pronouns and extra special shoutout to Han and Tebs my lovely protection duo of Jack/Rhys/Tim depending on the cons who also made my gun and my wig respectively. I love you all and had a good few month run as Moxxi!

Next up - well folks I’m making Vasquez haha. Then either August or redoing Jack borderlands wise!!!

Moxxi has been on my dress form this entire time and I decided to see how funny it looked without my push-up bra and D’s and the answer is - hilarious ksksndjdjdijddn

Two question and this might be an old one but what was in the flask you were drinking when you were surrounded by Genjis. Also how did you get that much Genji's or did they just flocked to you?

Some kind of whiskey?? It was @whiskeyteacosplay’s flask that I borrowed for the video HAHAalso we were at the overwatch gathering so I just grabbed all the genjis nearby for it; it was a spur of the moment decision so I’m grateful there were that many around 👀💦
