something that i wish people would tell me, so i’ll tell you:

you have every right in the world to be depressed. to have anxiety. it doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor, or if you have a great life or an awful one. because mental illness doesn’t discriminate. i’ve felt a lot of guilt alongside my depression because my brain goes “hey, you, you don’t have anything wrong with your family or your life, you don’t deserve to be depressed”, but what i have to keep telling myself is that that’s not true. 

don’t repress your feelings because you don’t feel like you’re allowed to express them. get help if you need it. you don’t have to have gone through something traumatic to develop a mental illness, and nothing has to be wrong in order to feel the way you do. you are a human, you have feelings. don’t think that you can’t feel a certain way ever, because mental illness does not care about how good your life is. don’t feel guilty. please.

You sit in a open classroom or maybe open space office. Some tables are pushed together for group work- Your clique sits on the floor. With a sigh, you eat black pudding out of small transparent plastic cups. There are so many small cups. The folks and you have to eat the pudding to beat the disease. It´s creamy texture doesn`t seem too bad to you, but the others may be annoyed and look at each other from time to time with puckered lips. You are uncomfortable. Are they really angry with you?
