CTJL Monaco

It’d been a while since Sambary competed at a big international show because Maria sensed her mare needed a break after returning from last year’s Nations Cup. Samy spent most of the summer on the large pastures in knee-deep grass full of daisies and amongst blooming dandelions as the wind sent a cloud of little seeds swirling into the breeze. They’d participated in some local shows to ease back into competing, and as Maria got invited to a special CTJL event in Monaco, she knew it was a perfect opportunity for an international comeback. In spite of Monaco's small size, Monte Carlo was a posh playground for the world's wealthy, with densely forested hills and an imposing harbor. There were luxury cars on the street and even clothes and accessories worn by people that appeared to be more expensive than some of the horses competing. “This guy’s Rolex probably cost more than the entire sad pool of horses at Highgrove” Alex joked as he tried to squeeze the trailer into one of the parking spaces to make room for the furious driver who was vividly communicating with his hands behind them. Maria immediately swatted his shoulder. “Knock it off”, she tried to look offended but she couldn’t even keep a straight face. Sambary was not having any of it. Unloading her took almost an hour and required the help of two other people; she was restlessly weaving in her stall, greeted the horses next door with a blow against the dividers and pinned her ears at anyone who came too close. For a second Maria thought about aborting the whole trip but thankfully they arrived a few days before their class was scheduled and Samy had almost a week to settle in. She’s gotten so used to Highgrove’s peacefulness during her break that she needed some time to get used to the mayhem at international shows again. Maria instructed Alex to only unpack the basic necessities, in case they had to leave before the show even started. Apart from her daily training with Samy and the events hosted by the CTJL, Maria used her free time to stroll through the city, marveling at various five-star hotels, designer boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. As she visited the Jardin Exotique and overlooked the Mediterranean a day before her round and two days before their journey home, she looked back at everything she had experienced the last few days. The trip to Monte Carlo turned out to be much more than just their international comeback.

When the day finally came and the pair entered the arena in front of the impressive yachts at Port Hercule, it felt as if someone had flipped a switch in Sambary’s head. The bundle of nerves from a few days ago that seemed like it would explode at any given second, turned into the focused, experienced competitor she truly was.

Matilda Mudroom - A Modular Hallway Set with 28 items

I have always wanted to make a hallway set, but it's never been at the forefront of my mind, or been inspiring enough to become reality. I got a ask on tumblr about a mudroom and the idea just clicked with me, so I guess it was finally time for the idea to work on it. I am really happy with how it came out and I hope you enjoy using it as much as I do.
