W H O O M P 💸 There it is. Or isn’t, as the case may be. Ok so something I didn’t share on my Insta Stories while on my recent trip to London is that I forgot my wallet. In Canada. Comment below. 👇🏻 I loved the colourful decor inside and out, but equally impressive is the golden Lord Murugan statue, the highest statue in Malaysia. We were only in Kuala Lumpur for 24 hours but this city has so much to see and do we’ll just have to go back! D R E A M I N G ♥️ Guys, I’ve been dreaming about visits the Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur for YEARS but I actually had no idea what the inside looked like! I could only ever find photos of the colourful steps outside. FYI: Batu Caves is made of limestone that’s over 400 million years old. The caves have a massive vaulted ceiling with several Hindu shrines inside. Oh, and there’s monkeys inside the caves, too! 🐒 This pic is of one of the shrines inside the cave. S M O O T H S A I L I N G ⛵️Even though I feel like post-vacation life has kicked my butt this past week, I’m still revelling in my adventures from Malaysia. It was seriously one of my favourite adventures EVER. We set out for a sail down the coast of Malaysia on my parent’s boat. It was amazing just to stop and go swimming wherever we wanted. We decided to drop anchor and spend the night in the amazing little cove. It was incredible to be out there under the stars! The next day we went exploring and found a deserted island with an incredible white sand beach where we spent the afternoon. Swipe to see more photos of “my” island and a map of where we sailed to. L E A P 💛 I’m not fearless. As much as I like to pretend I am (fake it ‘til you make it, right?) so many things scare the crap out of me. Travelling solo (although I’ve been to 30-some countries by myself), going to events where I know nobody (I was PAINFULLY shy as a kid and sometimes still am), and jumping from high places. But I try to channel it into positive energy, even if it’s just a tickle of fear, and use it to push myself out of my comfort zone. I’ve yet to regret it. ☺️ What is your biggest fear? Have you found a way to overcome it? BTW, the first day sailing down the Malaysian coast on my parents boat was AMAZING. Seriously, one of my favourite travel adventures EVER. A life full of hurdles and heartache, from a murdered brother to having to give a baby (me) up for adoption, and everything in between. Yet she persevered. L U C K Y S E V E N ✨ Sometimes you just need to follow your gut. We were told by numerous locals not to bother going to Seven Wells Waterfalls, that they were dried up. But we persevered, hiked to the top (all 638 steps in 35C heat), and were rewarded with an amazing afternoon of swimming in the pools. Obviously the waterfalls weren’t raging as they normally would be after a lot of rain but it was still a totally fun and super stunning place. I get it though. I equate it to Whistler locals complaining about poor snow while visitors have the best experience of their lives. BTW, Seven Wells Waterfall is so named because seven natural pools have been formed at different levels by water streams that flow down the second highest mountain of Langkawi - Mount Mat Cincang. Have you ever travelled somewhere against the advice you were given? S K Y H I G H ☁️ Today was all about adventure in Langkawi. We took the world’s steepest cable car up to the Sky Bridge. The views were incredible! You could see Thailand in the distance! T H R O W B A C K 🔙 Not to this awesome travel adventure but to those yoga arms, haha! 💪🏻 I’ve legit been “bulking” and working on strength training with @peaktrainingwhistler and while I’ve never felt stronger (thanks Meaghan) I’m realizing as I’m beach-bound tonight, I probably had one too many fondue dinners in the process. Oops! Too late to worry about that now. I squeezed in one more workout tonight before heading to the airport. I love getting exercise before getting on a long haul flight so I don’t feel as stir crazy. Is that something you factor into your travel plans too? H O L I D A Z E 💙 Someone teased me yesterday that my life is their vacation. While I’m obviously not on a permanent holiday, I do get to live and work in an incredible place that some people save their whole lives to visit or can only dream of visiting.
