BÊTE - Revolve
BÊTE have been knocking about, in one form or another, for a short while now, having played support slots for Jaws and GirlFriend, but this is their first single.
Salford based BÊTE are a band firmly with feet and hands in many boxes, impossible to pigeonhole. An arrangement with roots in electronica, guitars and instrumentation taken from indie and experimental hip-hop, this is a band you need to keep tabs on.
'Revolve' doesn't lend itself to any genre, it doesn't have a standard arrangement and comes with a none-chorus chorus but it's truly something special, swooning guitars, heartfelt vocals, and in your face hip-hop drums. It's a marriage between beauty and the beast.

Amy Winehouse - Rehab (Tom Misch Remix)
Tom Misch is someone we've been keeping tracks on for a while now and he keeps going from strength to strength. His music is incredibly diverse, blending hip hop, blues, jazz, and all elements of electronica. He also is a supremely talented guitarist with an incredible voice to boot.
Misch has added an almost liquid house vibe with tinges of hip hop thrown in for good measure to the classic Amy Winehouse track.
A student at Leeds university, he has just set up his own label 'Beyond The Groove' and you can pick this remix up for free over on his Soundcloud.

La Preist - Oino
Former Late of the Pier guitarist Sam Dust returns with a new moniker and it's so far removed from his early noughties foray into indie.
Although Dust released a track on Erol Alkan's Phantasy Label back in 2007, this is a proper first release and it's been worth the wait.
Oino is a funky electro track with roots in reggae and R&B. It's How To Dress Well meets Augustus Pablo and It hasn't left my head in days.

Nick Klein - Paralyzed
Dutch duo Nick Klein consists of Ferdous Dehzah on production and Nick Klein on vocal duties.
Paralyzed is a slice of modern R&B. It's a mix of interesting synths, keys, and percussion. All expertly arranged with enough space to make every element count.

Spring King - City
Manchester five piece Spring King are the brain-child of drummer and lead vocalist Tarek Musa.
'City' is the first track to come from their new E.P 'They're Coming After You'. Premiered on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show last night as part of his 'Future Radio1' section (Lowe even reloaded the track and spun it again for good measure). I'm left in no doubt about their credentials as exactly that.
Due to be released on Handsome Dad records this coming April. Spring King come with an energy and fuzz that sets them apart from the usual dream chasing garage rock sound.
'City' is the sign of a band raising their game and readying themselves for an ascent into stratosphere.
The band have just been confirmed to support Courtney Barnett on her upcoming UK tour and if you've had the joy of seeing these guys perform live before, they are definitely something not to be missed.

Child of Love (Ft. Damon Albarn) - One Day
Child Of Love released his self titled L.P last year to critical acclaim. It was a marriage of bluesy soul and electonica; Catchy R&B hooks and high profile collaborators.
He was destined for huge things. The sad passing of the enigmatic Dutch R&B producer in December sent shockwaves through the music world. I cannot think of artist in the past 10 years who's death has shocked me more. I remember where i was when i read it on twitter.
Despite his death his music will live on and director Christine Yuan has shared her video for album highlight 'One Day' featuring Damon Albarn.

Nao vs. A.K. Paul
I don't swear much but FUCK! This is crazy good.
There is some serious talent in the Paul family, A.K. is brother to Jai Paul -the mysterious London Producer - and he helped out his brother on the production of some of his tracks. As well as producing music for Jessie Ware, Sam Smith and Big Boi. Now he has now teamed up with London based songstress Nao for his debut solo release.
'So Good' is futuristic R&B with a sharp 'Prince-esque' guitar solo, a gospel choir and 'pogo'ing' synths.
This is my summer jam, no doubt.

La Roux - Let Me Down Gently (George Fitzgerald Remix)
If you've ignored La Roux's comeback releases because basically, it's La Roux, then you are an idiot. They have been pretty astonishing.
'Let Me Down Gently' has been given a house transformation by Fitzgerald - who you cannot escape at the moment - and he does not disappoint.

DJ Dodger Stadium - Never Win
LA producers Jerome LOL and Samo Sound Boy have joined forces to bring you 'DJ Dodger Stadium' - despite being one of the worst names I've heard, the tunes speak for themselves.
'Never Win' is the follow up to first release 'Love Songs', both come with incredible videos filmed with drones above L.A.
The duo release a DJ Dodger Stadium album on their own 'Body High' label on July 8th and have promised '10 pieces of hypnotic techno that tell the story of a wounded soul's search for redemption and peace' and from the first two releases they aren't going to disappoint.
'Never Win' is an another hard hitting tech track, but what else would you expect following on from "Love Songs" and again the hook is caught somewhere between dancefloor uplift and melancholic deflation.
This album is already sounding incredible.

Litany - Slopes
Yorkshire born, boy girl duo and friends of Wetdog, Litany have been quiet over the past year or so but they have returned and it's something pretty special.
'Slopes' was put online little over a week ago and has found itself in the centre of an online storm. It's a minimalistic track that ends in an explosion of sound with a clever use vocals as percussion. Beth on vocal duty delivers poetry-esque lyrics about low self esteem and wanting beautifully and the synths provide a perfect backdrop for the vocals with an eerie haunting twisted quality.
