Reading HOFAS
CH 10, 11, 12, 13
Rushing water roared through the cavern, its spray coating Bryceâs face with drops so cold they were kisses of ice
Ew worm's water
The last carving before the river had been one of transition: a Fae King and Queen seated on thrones, a mountain âdifferent from the one with the palace atop itâbehind them with three stars rising above it. A different kingdom, then. Some ancient High Lord and Lady, Nesta had suggested before approaching the river
plz don't be a foreshading for a future high king plot.
Bryce and Nesta peered down at the cascade rushing past, the nightdark waters flowing deeper into the caverns.
that is sewage
Nesta glanced over a shoulder. âYou winnowed out of the cell.â So the shadows had told Nesta and the others everything. âYou canât do so again?â
why nesta still can't winnow?
âIâve never tried,â Nesta admitted. âMy powers are unusual amongst the High Fae.â
why haven't you tried, nesta? once you do, get the fuck out of the night court....
Or maybe sheâd been sent to win Bryceâs sympathy and trust, working for a so-called High Lord.
ehh, nop
Bryce glanced at her star. It was glowing more strongly now. She stood, wiping her wet, chilled hand on the thigh of her leggings. The star dimmed.
âWhat is it?â Nesta took a step closer, a hand rising toward the sword at her back.
sewage, bryce, wash your hands.
Bryce glanced over a shoulder to Nesta. âSee you at the bottom.â And with a wink, Bryce jumped into the roaring water.
girl, that is sewage...
Behind her, Nesta had jumped inâas Bryce had rounded a bend a
moment ago, sheâd heard Nestaâs snapped âReckless idiot!â before the roar of the river swallowed all sounds once more.
I guess sjm forgot about that water thing in the middle....
Bryce inhaled all that beautiful, wonderful air, even as intense cold
began to shake through her very bones. âThe star said to go this way,â she managed to say.
âSome warning would have been good,â Nesta growled
exactly, now you 2 are without food
Bryce rose onto her elbows, gasping down breath after breath. âWhy? You would have tried to talk me out of it.â
âBecause,â Nesta bit out, wiping the water from her eyes as she got to her knees, âwe could have come down here without having to get wet. Iâm not to let you out of my sightânot even for a moment, so I had no choice but to go after you. But since you jumped in so damned fast ⌠Now weâre freezing.â
nesta's self control to not smack bryce is amazing
Bryce whirled on her knees, reaching for a weapon that wasnât there as Azriel landed from above them.
Azriel, sweetie, why didn't you winnow in the tunnel when they got stuck? if bryce, an outsider, could winnow in that area, you sure as hell could...
His wings were spread so wide they nearly touched either side of the cavern,
with wings big like this, imagine the size of his ass-
wait a damn minute, he was flying inside a cave, didn't fall even as the celling is short, his wings didn't slammed on them from the lack of space, and bryce didn't notice a huge ass bat flying over her?
âWhy keep hidden at all?â
âTo observe,â Nesta answered for him, stride unfaltering. âTo see what youâd do. Where youâd lead me. As soon as we realized there was a tunnel, we got supplies together and followed you.â
so he has food with him, one less problem
âYour guess remains as good as mine. Iâm just following the light.â
âRight into the river,â Nesta grumbled. Azriel snickered behind her
own, he laughs
âIn this world,â Nesta said from ahead, rubbing her wet, cold arms to get some semblance of warmth into them, â
just hug az, it will be funny
âHalf,â Nesta corrected. âHalf High Fae, half Illyrian.â Azriel cleared his throat as if to warn her to stop talking so much, and Nesta added sharply, âAnd with the combined arrogance of both.â
keep talking, nesta
âI donât think so. From the consistent size of them, Iâd guess that a Middengard Wyrm originally made these passages.
the big worm, also known as the natural tunnel boring machine.
Azriel nodded to a pile of white things that sheâd mistaken for more of the writhing, newt-like creatures. âBones. Of those things from the bridge chamber, probably.â
if the worm shallows it entire, and there are bones in the floor... that means you are all stepping on worm's shit
A strong hand was instantly at her back, but too late to avoid the
stinging cuts that now peppered her hands and legs
bryce, you are going to get infections
She could have sworn Nestaâs mouth kicked up at a corner. That Azriel chuckled, the sound soft as shadow
own, he laughs when she laughs
Nesta went silent, and Bryce thought she might not answer, but then she said, âI had a tattoo on my backârecently. A magical one, now gone. But it was of an eight-pointed star.â
how is that gone?

Feyre is a shitty friend to Lucien if sheâs ever been a friend to him at all
This is going to be a long post and yeah I have made two tiktoks about this already and yes people got very mad at me but Iâm going to post in on here anyways!!
In Chapter 3 of ACOWAR, Lucien says, âYou are a better friend to me, Feyre, than I ever was to you.â
And I couldn't disagree more. This is just so so wrong. I think Feyre has been such a shitty friend to Lucien if sheâs even been a friend to him at all.
If you canât handle criticism towards Feyre then just scroll past! And I have so many things to say but Feyre being a shitty friend definitely starts in ACOWAR. Sheâs constantly lying to him, making wrong assumptions about him, she uses him.
And I understand that is all for her plan to take down Spring; she canât really tell anyone the truth because itâll ruin her cover but a lot of the things she does concerning Lucien and how sheâs his friend, are kind of fucked up.
Constantly lying to him and using him in Spring
Now I thought the nightmare scene with Feyre and Lucien was excellent and very entertaining to read but when you think about how Feyre is using Lucien, her âfriendâ, in a sexual way to get back at Tamlin and turning them against each otherâŚit makes her a shitty friend.
Chapter 5 of ACOWAR:
I waited the five minutes it took Tamlin to decide not to kill Lucien, and then smiled.
I wondered if Lucien had pieced it togetherâŚÂ
A nightmare, I had told Tamlin.
I was the nightmare.
Preying on what Tamlin had feared from my very first days hereâŚ
I had no doubt Tamlin was now running through every look and conversation since then. Every time Lucien had intervened on my behalfâŚweighing how much that new mating bond with Alain held sway over his friendâŚ
And she continuously gets Lucien to touch her to goad Tamlinâs jealousy and also Iantheâs jealousy. She does it very often while theyâre in Spring: an example is when they sleep in the tent together. They basically end up cuddling each other and Jurian sees. And though it wasnât on purpose, Feyre thinks about how it would be perfect if that got to Tamlin. Â
Chapter 6:
Iâd rolled onto Lucienâs bedroll at some point, any schemes indeed second to my most pressing demandâwarmth. But I had no doubt Jurian would tuck away the information to throw in Tamlinâs face when we returned: weâd shared a tent, and had been very cozy upon awakening.
She is using him. She admits it when we get to the scene with Ianthe SAing Lucien.
Why she saved Lucien from Ianthe
And getting to this point soon: Â
So in an earlier conversation they have, Lucien talks about how he did the rite in Tamlinâs place and he completed it with Ianthe. Feyre can see that lines were blurred. Ianthe had continuously sought Lucien and she got what she wanted. And Feyre says she should have been there to stop it.
Chapter 3 of ACOWAR:
He might have completed the Great Rite with Ianthe of his own free will, but he certainly hadnât enjoyed it. Some line had been blurredâbadlyâŚ
The weight of that jeweled knife and belt seemed to grow. âI wish I had been there to stop it. I should have been there to stop it.â I meant every word.
Lucien squeezed our linked arms as we rounded a head, the house rising up before us. âYou are a better friend to me, Feyre,â he said quietly, âthan I ever was to you.â
And this brings in the quote I brought up in the beginning. ANd I will make a whole separate post on Lucienâs inaction in ACOMAF but what he says just tells me that he feels guilty for not doing enough to help Feyre with Tamlin locking her up.
Feyre said she should have been there to stop it. Alright well, when the time came and she was given an opportunity to stop Ianthe, Feyre was thinking about how she could keep going and just leave Ianthe to SA Lucien and let it happen. She is going against her word. and that makes her a hypocrite and terrible friend. Â
Chapter 9:
Keep going. They were distracted, horrible as it was.
Keep going, keep going, keep going.
âI thought youâd seek me out after the Rite,â Ianthe purred. They couldnât be more than thirty feet through the trees. Far enough away not to hear my presence, if I was quiet enough.
And Feyre realizes that her using Lucien was a bad move, so Feyreâs guilt encourages her to save Lucien not out of any genuine friendship.Â
âYou donât act that way with Feyre.â A silk-wrapped threat.
âYouâre mistaken.â
âAm I?â Twigs and leaves crunched, as if she was circling him. âYou put your hands all over her.â
I had done my job too well, provoked her jealousy too much with every instance Iâd found ways to get Lucien to touch me in her presence, in Tamlinâs presence.
But another thing that causes her to save him is because this moment reminds her of when Ianthe assaulted Rhys.
I made it about a hundred yards into the cover of the trees before I halted.
I heard Lucien first.
âBack offâ
A low female laugh.
Everything in me went still and cold at that sound. Iâd heard it once beforeâin Rhysandâs memory.
and Lucien saying âdo not touch meâ is exactly what Rhys says and this is what pulls Feyre out of her plans to keep going and save him instead. Â
Chapter 21 of ACOMAF:
Rhys learned close to breathe in her ear, âdonât you ever touch me. Donât ever touch another male in my court.â
Chapter 9 of ACOWAR:
âDo not touch me,â he growled.
And then I was moving.
This moment is echoing Ianthe going after Rhys, from the way Ianthe acts to the hand-breaking situation because Feyre was replicating what Rhys did to Iantheâs hand. And in my opinion, Feyre breaking her hand was not only revenge for Lucien but also revenge for Rhys. And thatâs not inherently bad but Feyre is not saving Lucien because sheâs a good friend and she cares for his well-being. If that were true, she would have never thought of leaving him to get SAed by her in the first place.
Not trusting him, questioning his prioritiesÂ
When theyâre traveling through Autumn she continues to not trust him, she continues to make assumptions about him and assume the worst. She questions his priorities when it comes to Elain and assumes that heâs only coming along to get what heâs owed. But then she wants him to have sympathy for her and Rhys as mates. Itâs just very one-sided.
Chapter 12:
âYou kissed Under the Mountain.â
âI had little choice in that as I did with the dancing.â
âAnd yet this is the male you now love.â
âHe didnât knowhe had no inkling of the personal history, the secrets, that had opened my heart to the High Lord of the Night Court. They were not my stories to tell.
âOne would think, Lucien, that youâd be glad I fell in love with my mate, given that youâre in the same situation Rhys was in six months ago.â
Compare this to Chapter 11:
âAnd thatâs why youâre here. Not because itâs right and heâs always been wrong, but just so you can get what you think youâre owed.â
âShe is my mate and in my enemyâs handsââ
So Rhys and Lucien were in the same situation: both had their mates in their enemyâs hands and want to keep them safe. Was Rhys only getting what he thought he was owed as well? No. So why canât Feyre offer the same courtesy?
Again, ready to abandon him in Spring
And thereâs literally a part when they're running in Autumn where Lucien basically asks âare you actually my friend?â and Feyre doesnât answer. Â
Chapter 11:
âYou have the gall to question my priorities regarding Elainâyet what was your motive where I was concerned? Did you plan to spare me from your path of destruction because of any genuine friendship, or simply of fear of what it might do to [Elain]?â
I didnât answer.Â
âWell? What was your grand plan for me before Ianthe interfered?â
I pulled at a stray thread in the bedroll. âYou would have been fine,â was all I said.
To actually answer your question, Lucien: she wasnât planning on sparing you. She used you and was ready to leave you.
Lucien is a bigger man than me because I would have probably yelled in her face.
Again, uses him to get revenge against Tamlin
Also when he asks her where heâll fit in in the NC,she thinks about how she would only offer him the position to keep Elain from Spring and to get back at Tamlin.
Chapter 12:
âAnd where, exactly, do you believe I will fit in? The Night Court?
I didnât answer. I didnât have one, honestly. As High Lady I could likely offer him a position, if we survived long enough to make it home. Iâd do it mostly to keep Elain from ever going to the Spring Court, but I had little doubt Lucien would be able to hold his own against my friends. And some small, horrible part of me enjoyed the thought of taking one more thing away from Tamlin, something vital, something essential.
âWe should leave at down,â was my only reply.
Lucien is vital, but not because of his talents as an emissary and how he would benefit the Night Court. Itâs because Tamlin wouldnât have an emissary.
Feyre just lies to him and assumes stuff and uses himâŚoverall, sheâs just such a selfish friend and Iâm fairly sure that she doesnât even consider Lucien her friend at this part, despite several things that would go against that. Lucien seems to consider or had considered her a friend. Â
And then I got a part two because thereâs just more things.
Being unwelcome when they get to Night
And now we are getting to one of my biggest gripes with Feyre. When they get back to the Night Court she has the reunion with Rhys. They almost immediately go off and have sex and sure, I get it: theyâre mates, they havenât seen each other in a while, they didnât know if they would ever see each other again. Itâs very emotional. But when they are done having sex, Feyre goes down and sees Lucien in the sitting room, still in his dirty clothes. Feyre thinks about how she should offer him somethingâŚbut then the thought vanishes as soon as Rhys steps to her side.
Chapter 15:
âLucien was waiting in the sitting room when Rhus and I came downstairs at lastâŚ
I fought my cringe as I halted at the threshold. Lucien was still in his travel-worn, filthy clothes. His face and hands, at least, were clean, butâŚI should have gotten him something else. Remembered to offer himâ
The thought rippled away into nothing as Rhys appeared at my side.
FEYRE. You literally just finished fucking him and putting on your wedding rings, stop thinking of Rhys and offer your âfriendâ some clean clothes, a bath, SOMETHING!!!! He has his face and hands washed probably because he washed them in the fucking kitchen sink because he doesnât know where the bathroom is because no one has given him a tour and they still donât give him a tour after thisâŚ
This is infuriating to me. So infuriating. Itâs not only being a shitty friend but also a shitty hostess.
And then they have their talk where they explain everything to him, Lucien finally understands what has been going on, he knows that Rhys has been wearing a mask the whole time and that the NC is goodâŚand then he is finally offered clothes and a bath. By fucking Rhys too not by Feyre.
Chapter 16:
âI assume youâll need clothes,â Rhys went on, nodding toward Lucienâs filthy jacket and pantsâwhich heâd worn for the past week while we scrambled through territories. Indeed, that wasâŚblood splattered in several spots.
Not communicating, having no important talks as friends or allies
And then the entire time Lucien is in Night, she does not try to have any meaningful talks besides the one where she and Rhys explain everything to him. She often says itâs for another time. But they never have any sort of conversation, even if it would just be beneficial as allies, if not friends.
There is a weird sort of mistrust for him. They not only donât trust Lucien with Elain but also just information in general and this mistrust takes way too long to fade. From a political standpoint, I get it: he is / was a close friend and courtier to Tamlin, they did ally with Hybern.  But Feyre acknowledges he was remorseful. And when theyâre in Spring he speaks up and tells Tamlin his mistrust and dislike towards allying with Hybern. But Feyre just speaks over that. Â
And I just donât understand this mistrust with Elain and assuming heâll steal her away, which is what Rhys implies. Â
Chapter 19:
âIf he got Elain away, back to Spring or whereverâŚdo you believe, deep down, that he wouldnât sell what he knows? Either for gain, or to ensure she stays safe?â
I considered his question: Did I trust Lucien? âI donât know, either,â I admitted, and sighed. âI donât like that Elain is a pawn in this.â
âDid he discuss what he feels regarding Tamlin?â
âNon. I didnât want to push on that. He wasâŚremorseful about what happened with me, and Hybern, and Elain. Would he have felt that way without Elain in the mix? I donât knowâmaybe. I donât think he would have left, though.â
But Lucien explained to Feyre that he hated how Elain was in an enemyâs hands and wanted to make sure she was okay and he knows now that the IC is good and sheâs safe, but you still mistrust him? You are just completely ignoring everything and thinking the worst of him, and as I said before, not offering him the same courtesy you want him to have for Rhys.
Also Elain is a pawn because you are making her a pawn.
Lucien has good intentions. He wants to do good.  With Hybern, he has not only explains his dislike for allying with them before to her but he sneaks off and sent stuff to Nuan for research to find a preventative against faebane.  He goes to find Vassa to basically redeem himself, he says it was âabout time he did somethingâ. Â
And about Elain: Lucien is not demanding to see her. He literally just sits around on his ass and waits and is courteous. Thereâs no malicious intent. He is so kind and respectful. And if you are so mistrustful towards him that you set up rules for him to follow, maybe just ask him. Ask permission to look in his mind maybe? Â
Feyre and Rhys and the IC have a set of morals that they follow sometimes but then choose not to follow when it conveniences them. That is a whole other discussion in itself but literally so many things that went wrong with their friendship could have been solved if they actually talked and Feyre wanted to listen to him. Â
When Lucien and Elain finally talk one-on-one and Feyre goes into his mind (again, out of mistrust), Feyre discovers that Lucien has no ill intentions. Lucien didnât even mean to find Elain there in the library. He just wanted a walk and to get a book, he didnât realize she was there, he did not intentionally seek her out and break Feyreâs rule, despite what Rhys says.
Chapter 24 of ACOWAR:
He hadnât expected her to be here. The other sisterâthe viperâwas a possibility, but one he was willing to riskâŚheâs been cooped up in this wind-blasted House for two days.
He just wanted a walkâand a few books. It had been an age since heâd ever had free time to read, let alone do so for pleasure.
But there she was.
His mate.
Getting jealous he has friends / the entire fight they have in ACOFAS
Feyre seemed to have redeveloped her affection for Lucien by the end of ACOWAR but it took way too long and she is still an ass even after everything heâs done for her and for the good of Prythian. Â
In Frost and Starlight with their fight that causes him to leave before the SolsticeâŚby fucking god. I truly hate everything about this conversation. Feyre is just so wildly frustrating. I discussed it before so I feel like I donât need to go a whole lot into it because I already ripped this scene apart word for word.
Chapter 18 of ACOFAS:
I rose as well. âBut Jurian and Vassaâs is fine?â
âYouâd be surprised to see how well the three of us get along.â
Friends, I realized. They had somehow become his friends. âSo you would rather stay with them?â
âIâm not staying with them. The manor is ours.ââ
âInteresting.â
His golden eye whirred. âWhat is.â
Not feeling very festive at all, I said sharply, âThat you now feel more comfortable with humans than with the High Fae. If you ask meââ
âIâm not.â
âIt seems like youâve decided to fall in with two people without their homes of their own as well.ââ
Lucien talks about how he and Vassa and Jurian have been getting closer and Feyre gets almost jealous that he has found friends and a life outside of the Night Court and the Inner Circle.
Of course he wanted to find other friends besides you, Feyre. Itâs not like you have welcomed him with open arms.
And then this quote: âIt seems like youâve decided to fall in with two people without homes of their own as well.â
So youâre admitting that the Night Court isnât his home? That heâs not welcome here, he has no friends here?
And then she realizes she fucked up she tries to correct herself:
Chapter 18 of ACOFAS:
âLucien stared at me, long and hard. âHappy Solstice to you, Feyre.ââ
He turned toward the foyer, but I grabbed his arm to halt him. The corded muscle of his forearm shifted beneath the fine silk of the sapphire jacket, but he made no move to shake me off. âI didnât mean that. You have a home here. If you want it.ââ
He doesnât want it. He talks about how he canât go to Spring anymore not just to Tamlin but to the court outside of the manor because of how Feyre ripped down Spring. Feyre shows no remorse for that. And he also talks about how he canât stand to be in Night around Elain. He doesnât feel welcome here for all of those reasons and from the fact that you are just the worst friend ever. Â
And then she proceeds to make fun of the Band of Exiles and mock him despite the work they are doing for the land she used to live in as a human. The Band of Exiles is a stupid name but Feyre doesnât have a right to call it bullshit.
They have not had any meaningful conversations about their friendship. They could sit down and actually talk about what happened like civil people, I think they both have to still fully admit where they were wrong and apologize for the mistakes theyâve made. But Lucien seems to have already apologized more than Feyre ever will. He apologizes, he says Feyre was a better friend than he was, he feels guilty, he says he needs to actually do something and he looks for redemption. In ACOWAR when he is still in the Night Court, he has better manners than Feyre does, he apologizes and says thank you so many times.
And their fight in ACOFAS is basically the last thing we got of their friendship because he does come to the solstice party in Silver Flames which I am amazed by actually. I feel like he is still holding on to Elain and his allyship (Iâm going to call it allyship) with Feyre and the Inner Circle. After everything sheâs done to him, heâs still pushing through it. And I think that makes him a better person than Feyre.  Strong opinion but. Jesus.
I could go for even longer but Iâll stop and Iâll end by saying Lucien deserves better.

I thought I would have so much to say about the car accident scene. And while I could go on for a while on why it's everything I've ever wanted from a scene of this nature and why it's a beautifully acted cinematic piece, I do think the beauty of the scene lies so much in silence. Their expressions are do a fantastic job to express their emotional state so I'm just gonna call attention to a few things I won't get over anytime soon.
Imagine being Haein and seeing your husband wrecking a car window in hysteria. Imagine seeing disbelief on his face when he sees you and walks towards you. Imagine watching him unable to breathe properly (sound on and high for this scene). Imagine seeing life flood into him as soon as you touch him.
Jiwon plays such an important part here. Because Haein has NEVER seen Hyunwoo like this. He's a pretty calm nice, non-violent guy. She knows him to like mostly everyone and he rarely gets angry - he's pretty composed. But then what is this look of complete shattered pain on his face? With a mix of disbelief, bearing the heaviest heart on the planet? He's unrecognisable to her. She can't make sense of any of his actions. She's in utter shock hearing how hardly any air is making it's way into his lungs.
In his eyes is a look of crazed wilderness just tamed. He's out of his sense. Completely lost in the events that have just passed. Not believing that he can breathe. That it's okay. All is well in the world for now. She's unscathed.
'What's going on? Calm down.'
The way she asks him to calm down - touching his face - cause she just doesn't know what in the world could send him in such a frenzy to forget himself. Her asking him to calm down here is everything to me. She's really just saying I'm here okay. Calm down. Calm down, you can breathe. Tell me what happened and I can fix it.
'Even still, Are you crazy? How could you break the window with your bare hands? Look at this!'
I know it probably didn't register to him at that point. But he's hearing her being worried for him again when he thought her lost forever. Wouldn't that sound like music to his ears.
And her...god she's so worried for him. She's never seen him like this. She doesn't know what happened to make him like this. One she sees his absolutely broken bloody hand. Two she's seeing her husband absolutely crushed. She's so confused.
That is until his words hit her like a truck. I think she had an idea that he did it to save her but she didn't know he did it because he thought her dead. And that makes all the difference for her.
Also I thought it was very interesting to keep showing his injured hand clenching. I think it was a way to show how the physical pain still didn't hold a candle to his emotional turmoil. He CLENCHES that broken hand multiple times. I can't even begin to think when he actively registered the pain.
The need for constant touch to reaffirm that she indeed is there. The sitting down. The head on her hand. The heavy breathing. *Chef's kiss*
I love women comforting the man they love when he's broken. Gah! That hand on his face and hug. Her embracing him. Letting him cry all he wants. Giving him the reaffirmation he needs by placing her self as close to him as possible. Trying to tame and override his sense. The hand on the nape of his neck. The hand caressing his hair lovingly. And good god, the RINGS.
Also notice his breathing on her shoulder. He's trying to calm himself. Telling himself she's here. Hearing her say it's alright. Everything will be alright.
I'm sure they stay like this until the ambulance comes and asks them if they're hurt. Only then Haein must've gently tore him apart from her (hand on his face again ofcourse) and convinced/guided him to finally get treatment. I can just Imagine Hyunwoo completely dishevelled going, 'Huh *sniffs*......oh.......Right, my hand' and that's when the pain hits him.
Special mention to the hospital conversation when Haein asks him 'Will you sob like this if I die?' and he says truthfully, bashfully, embarrassed but without missing a beat 'Ofcourse.' He's hiding behind nothing. He truly meant to give up on himself after her.
For me this is also the night Haein starts to write her diary. Hyunwoo must've been sound asleep, amped up on painkillers and she must've had so much time to sit and admire him and write.

From Wings And Embers 𼰠(deleted scene/extra chapter, idk from acomaf):
Cassian couldnât bring himself to step back from the line that was so clearly drawn between them. One moment, heâd wanted to throttle her, then heâd read that terror on her face regarding her own past and heâd gone so murderously calm heâd scared even himself, then . . . then it had all stopped, the eye of a storm with them in it, and there she was.
(...)
So heâd just . . . moved.
And then Nesta had tipped up her chin, allowing him access to her throat. (she is not giving access, she is just looking up you dumb f)
(...)
But he leaned in, and grazed the tip of his nose along the side of her
neck.
Softâher skin was so soft; so fragile. He could scent the mortal
blood rushing just beneath. Cassian breathed in the smell of her into his lungs, stirring his cock as it latched onto some intrinsic part of him and sank its talons deep. (he is aware she was afraid just know bc someone hurt/sa her, yet his dick is getting hard anyway)
Nesta Nesta Nesta
Her eyes drifted closed, and a small, breathless sound came out of
her as Cassian brushed his lips over where his nose had touched. (i am not saying that my word is the correct one, but given the fact she was not too long ago thinking about the day her ex attacked her, which made her afrais, which is something cassian himself noticed, i would say this reaction of her right now is fear)
His knees nearly buckled as her slender hand dug into his fighting
leathers. He tried not to think of what that hand would feel like on other parts of him. Gripping him;stroking him. (he know she was afraid bc of hur/sa and he is thinking that now... ewwwww. And there is more of that)
More more more, his body sang.
He angled his head and kissed another spot, closer to her jaw.
Her frantic heartbeat was like a hummingbirdâs wings, (that is fear, piece of shit) though her body remained tight and loose in all the right places, a fush spreading across those gorgeous breasts of hers. Big enough to fll his hands, to nuzzle until she was begging himâ (ewwwwwww just ew)
Her pulse hammered right beneath his mouth. His tongue brushed it.
It was that touch that had her jolting back.
Nesta slammed into the wood paneling hard enough that he reached for her. But she was wide-eyed, livid, as she put a hand to her throat.
Cassian beat her to the venom about to blast from that throat and
said, âWound a bit tight these days, Nesta?â
She lowered her hand and hissed, âIs it some faerie magic of yours,
to do such things?â (it reads more as a fight flight or freeze reaction, again, my word is just my word and i could be wrong, the intend might have been to make it a "sexy" scene, but i see anything but it...)
(...)
âIf thatâswhata bastard-born Fae warrior can do, no wonder my sister has become so entangled with the High Lords.â
Bitch.
Bitch for the insult to him and to Feyre. (actualy, she insulted you and called her sister smart) âDid it bother you more that you wanted it, or that it was a bastard-born nobody who made you feel such things, Nesta?â (no, it is the fact your ass is flat)
âItâs been a long winter. Beggars canât be picky, I suppose.â Wall
after wall after wall snapped up, her posture going stifer, andâ
What did he care? What did he care? He had enough shit to deal
with. Throwing in a mortal who would have a few more decades before things between them became awkward was . . . foolish. And then there would be the matter of explaining it to everyone.
To Mor. His blood chilled. (that is the first thing he thinks, he is in love with mor in a very strange way, as time pass, eris gets even more right, and then there is this part: "Mor was still there between them. Somewhere between friend and lover" and then "This woman standing before him like a pillar of steel and fame . . .Cassian didnât want to tell Mor about her.. ..." like...)
(...) (here they were talking about the fact elain was going to marry that human boy i forgot the name and cassian calls him bigoted)
âShe deserves better than someone like that.â
âIndeed she does.â Flat and cold.
He pushed, simply because he damn well couldnât stop himself,
âAnd what do you deserve?â
A slow smile, indeed a plains-cat readying for the kill. Then, âCertainly more than a bastard-born nobody.â
Bitch. But he drawled, âWhat a fne partner you are, Nesta. Remind
me to bring a book on military strategy the next time. Maybe youâll
stand a chance then.â
A cold, fat look.
âItâs easier, isnât it,â Cassian breathed, crossing the distance again,
not caring who saw them standing in the bay window. âTo wield the
words and the coldness as armor to keep everyone from seeing where and who you failed and how you did not care until it was too late.â (boy, get a mirror)
âWell, I see it, Nesta Archeron. And all I see is a bored and spoiled
girlââ
She moved with impressive swiftness for a human, but still too slow
to prevent him from blocking her.
Cassian gripped her raised knee, a mere inch from his balls, and
squeezed tight enough to make her hiss. (people might say she was going to hit him and whatever, yet here she is still human and he is 500x stronger than her, so just holding her knee would be enough, yet he squeeze it until she feels pain, also he, a large big fae guy is approaching too much to intimidade her while she is cornered close to a window )
âCheap shot,â he said with a half smile. âCome play with me, Nesta, and Iâll teach you far more interesting ways to bring a male to
his knees.â
She tried to wrench herself free, but he didnât let go. She swayed
back, and he caught her by the waist, hauling her closer to keep her from falling through the window. (see, she is cornered) He snickered at the skirts around him. âWhat are you hiding beneath all this, anyway?â (ew fuck you, she has a 30cm strap-on ready to be shoved right into your ass asshole)
Nesta steadied herself enough to wrench her knee out of his grip.
âGet out of my house.â
Cassian simply grinned at her. (fuck you)

like, girl, just tell hyun woo you momentarily couldn't differentiate between him and Eun Sung (who randomly appeared, so anyone that appeared on that moment would have hyun woo's face on her eyes), he knows that at some point in hospital you couldn't recognize your own brother, he will understand...

Reading HOFAS
CH 7, 8 9:
A large subterranean river, if the sound was this loud even up here. Bits of spray floated from the darkness, the damp air laced with a thick, metallic scentâiron. There must have been deposits of it down here.
Nesta said with equal quiet, âThat bridge is the perfect place for an ambush.â
Bryce turned to her in surprise. âYouâve never been down this way?â
Nesta cut her a look. âNo. No one has.â
How tf a place that can be accesed through the palace's dungeons has never been found before until now? This shit is at least 1400 years old.
âWhoâd you piss off to get sent to retrieve me, anyway?â
it starts with r and ends with d, which also makes a group which's name starts with i and ends up with e, now the reasons? she is the only who is not kissing rice's ass
She could have sworn Nestaâs lips curved into a smile. âOn a good day, too many people to count. But today ⌠I volunteered.â
7 if you count Elain, also, if Nesta piss you off, you thank her.period
A new noise, barely audible above the rapidsâ roar.
Talons skittering over stone.
From above and below.
that is probably just the ugly puppies from earlier, don't worry
âHurry.â Nesta drew that plain-yet-remarkable sword. At the touch of her hand, silver flames skittered down the blade andâ
So...
An enormous worm, gleaming with water and mud.
A mouth full of rows of teeth opened wide and snapped
Who was the dumb fuck who put the firstbook's worm in side the hewn city's mountain, also, how the fuck nobody have ever saw that shit? or nesta said nobody knew about that bc riceman didn't know, which makes sense as he might got there for only a few hours each couple of months, yet mor was born in that city and also knows shit? then who made the bridge? somebody has to know
As the tang of more blood filled the air. Until the worm at last began sinking down, down, down. Back toward the river and wherever its lair lay below.
So there is a river inside that mountain, a river that is much probably also hewn city's water supply, were a fucking worm lives in there, and nobody knew it
Displeasure and something like disappointment filled Nestaâs pretty face as she said, âYou froze out there.â
It doesn't sound like something nesta would complain, especially as she also froze in front of that water thing in the Middle
âTheia was High Queen of these lands. Before she left,â
Wasn't canon that only males could be high whatever or is this something sjm forgot or is that something like a curse on females, i think the forgot option is more probably
But Nesta began walking into the tunnel once moreânot waiting for Bryce or her star to light the way. âYouâve gotten us into enough of a mess as it is,â
If someone had simply used his fucking telepath like someone with minimun inteligence, that wouldn't be happening.
âWhat you were born to doâto accomplish the task for which your father brought you into existence,â Apollion said before fading into nothing, leaving Aidas standing alone before the prisoners.
Shock reared up in Hunt, dampened by the weight of an old, unbidden hurt. âI have no father.â
Aidas shook his head. âThe black crown once again circling your brow is not a new torment from the Asteri. It has existed for millennia.â
Is Hunt's father Jesus?
when Nesta lifted an arm. Silver flame wreathed her fingers. Bryce backed away a step.
It echoed in Nestaâs eyes as she laid her hand on the stone wall. Silver fire rippled over the carvings.
Mechanisms clickedâand misfired. Rusty metal bolts shot from the walls. Or tried to. They barely cleared the wall before they melted into dust
if that is only a small part of power she was left with, imagine her full power.
Fae kneeling before impossibly tall, robed humanoids,
avatar aliens
âWhy you stumbled into our world.â Rhysand or the others must have filled Nesta in on everything before siccing her on Bryce.
i am pretty sure they didn't
âI told you earlier: We donât know. Until you crept past the beasts, even Rhys didnât know this tunnel existed
I think there are many rooms in the palace he isn't aware as well
Nesta asked, âWhy not let me get impaled earlier? You could have let me walk right into a trap and run.â
nesta, not everyone acts like someone from ic... my poor baby
âI have no reason to want you dead.â
âYet you ran from the cell.â
of course, imagine if bryce had a exposed broken bone and instead of nesta, it was rhysand the one to show up....
âI know how interrogations tend to end.â
âNo one was going to torture you.â
nesta, just look at az...
Nestaâs eyes gleamed like a catâs in the dimness.

they act as if there are no innocent people in there, even children aren't innocent on their eyes, and they ignore other women being abused.
In ACOWAR during the meeting with Kier when he asks for his people to be free of the mountain, Feyre says âYou have every comfort, and itâs still not enough?â
She had every comfort at Tamlinâs manor, and it still wasnât enough for herâŚ
#freethecourtofnightmares2024
One thing that really pisses me off about the Court of Nightmares is how SJM writes it so black and white. The entire court, not just Keir, is evil and conniving. There was a part in ACOWAR where he says he is going to let the CoN go to Velaris but he told all of the vendors and business owners to refuse service to not just Keir, but all of the CoN. And this paints the entire court in this black and white lense.
Not a single person in that court is a dreamer like Mor? She was the only fucking one?
I think there can be a little bit of nuance to the situation where a significant portion of the court is just bad because they have been festering in the dark for so long, but guess who's fault is that?? It's the leader's fault, the one who keeps the court up and running, aka the High Lord, aka Rhys.
Rhys says he wants change. That he wants to show the world that he's good. But he continues to keep the Court of Nightmares up and running, he keeps Keir as herald.
"Oh this court is so awful and sadistic," Feyre thinks as she sits on the throne with a crown on her head and with Rhys holding her hand.
And Rhys says "the Court of Nightmares just rules itself" and sure, I guess that's true, but as High Lord, you have the ability to put a stop to that and pull out the bad weeds. But instead, you keep it running to further your agenda and to keep your evil mask on.
Getting mad at Keir for slutshaming your lover and breaking his arm is not enough. Restricting access to Velaris is not enough. Even telling the Court "you guys are bad >:C " is not fucking enough.
Rhys the most powerful High Lord who killed all of the Illyrian war bands who sided with Amarantha after UTM, yet he can't do the same to the CoN?
Rhys and Feyre and the IC label the entire CoN as evil without trying to find the forgotten dreamers, and they continue to keep the court up and running and making the excuse that "it's too hard" despite their power and influence. It means they don't care. Or that Rhys maybe fucking enjoys it.
It also means that SJM (so far) has no idea what she's doing and can't understand the situation she wrote in her own series.
And this brings me to comparing Nesta being locked up, the CoN and its dreamers being locked up, and Feyre being locked up. Is SJM intending this irony and hypocrisy of the IC? I sure hope so because I swear it's the most obvious comparision ever, but it confuses me because a large majority of the ACOTAR fanbase doesn't get it. "Oh well the CoN is evil! They have to keep them contained and Rhys can't do a whole lot as High Lord because the Court rules itself." And the most frustrating argument: "Nesta was addicted to sex and alcohol, she needed to be rehabilitated! It's for her own good!"
They don't see the irony of how the IC treats Nesta because Tamlin also did what he did for Feyre's own good. It was to protect her, keep her safe. Not saying it was 100% good and right, but why are we not understanding that what the IC did to Nesta was not 100% good and right either?

Nesta Archeron Week | Day 6: Birthday
@nestaarcheronweek
I imagine Nesta as someone who loves celebrating birthdays. When her family lost their fortune, she learned how to make simple cakes for her sister's birthdays. Now, she will bake a cake, make pastries, and cook a tasty lunch for others, yet on her own birthday she would do everything for herself as she feels it would annoy people around her to ask for anything, and she also doesn't expect others to simply do it on their own, which leads to her surprise in the first time her friends arrive with her favorite cake and her birthday's season flowers while she prepared her own cake.
