The trick to manifesting your goals when you are an ADHD entrepreneur
Tumblr media
My podcast has been going for over a year now, and I'll often get emails and messages from listeners wanting to get more insight on specific topics.
These usually then inspire an episode. And that's exactly what happened with my latest one.
You can either skip this article and listen to the episode, or if you prefer reading, I'll essentially be talking you through it below.
"How can us people with ADHD manifest their dreams and goals?" was the email I had from Beth in Brisbane.
As an entrepreneur with ADHD myself, I understand the frustrations that come with trying to apply traditional manifestation techniques to our unique wiring.
So let's explore some of the strategies that can help us harness the power of manifestation in a way that works for us.
Understanding Manifestation for ADHD Individuals
Manifestation 101 is often taught from a neurotypical perspective, which can make it challenging for those of us with ADHD to apply these principles effectively.
The concept of focusing on what you want and feeling positive emotions around it sounds great, but when our minds tend to wander and get overwhelmed with negative thoughts, it can feel like an uphill battle.
Object Permanence and Manifestation
One of the key struggles for ADHD individuals when it comes to manifestation is our difficulty with object permanence.
We have a tendency to forget about things that are out of sight and out of mind.
This can make it challenging to focus on the things we want to manifest because they don't physically exist in our world yet.
But fear not, there are techniques we can use to overcome this challenge and keep our desired manifestations at the forefront of our minds.
Managing Negative Thoughts and Emotions
ADHD individuals often have a chorus of negative voices in our heads, constantly reminding us of our perceived shortcomings and failures.
These voices can drown out the positive emotions we should be feeling when manifesting our desires.
Letting Go of the Need for Control
As entrepreneurs with ADHD, we are masters of finding innovative solutions and taking shortcuts to navigate challenges.
However, this approach doesn't always work when it comes to manifestation.
We tend to get hung up on the details and try to figure out the "how" of manifesting our desires.
But manifestation is about surrendering control and trusting the process.
Avoiding Focusing on Lack and Limitations
When we focus on what we don't have or the limitations that stand in our way, we inadvertently attract more of the same into our lives.
For example, if we're trying to manifest a successful business, constantly worrying about the financial challenges or the lack of resources can hinder our progress.
Instead, we need to shift our focus to abundance and possibilities.
Taking Action and Staying Aligned
Manifestation is not just about sitting back and waiting for things to magically happen. It requires conscious action and alignment with our desires.
As ADHD entrepreneurs, staying focused and committed to taking consistent action can be a struggle. So, how can we balance our need for action with our ADHD tendencies? Let's discover effective strategies to stay aligned with our manifestations while staying productive and focused on our entrepreneurial journey.
I hope this article's given you a glimpse into how people with ADHD can manifest their dreams and goals.
By all means have a listen to the episode if you've felt frustrated by traditional manifestation techniques that don't quite fit your neurodivergent mind.
