summary: “Y/n is a shinigami, a death reaper. It’s their job to watch over humans until it’s time for them to leave. But sometimes, humans are able to see and interact with their shinigamis… and sometimes, they fall in love…”

you picked the thickest case file and it was immediately sent to your phone

“you didn’t even look through all of it…” your supervisor says as he pushes up his glasses; he resembled Sebastian from Black Butler but with glasses

“I hope you know that a lot of these sets of cases are combined…”

“yeah yeah..” you shook your hand nonchalantly

you opened the door to get started on your case

“I have to get through all of them anyways…” your icy tone stayed in the room even after you left your supervisor’s office

ding

you entered the elevator as you pulled out your phone

you flipped through your phone for your newest case sent by the HQ via email

“Jeon Jungkook.. hmm.. born September 1, 1997..and Min Yoongi..March 9, 1993… cause of death? no cause of death for either of them???”

you continued tried to scroll down to the bottom

but there was nothing there

“weird..”

you called the HQ’s main desk where they sort the case files

“hey this is y/n, so.. my case file, Jeon Jungkook and Min Yoongi, why doesn’t my case have cause of death?”

the receptionist tapped away before answering, “well… there are many causes of this; either that it involves other human interactions or something along those lines…”

you’ve never had a job like this

the only cases that you dealt with were caused by a medical or physical condition in which all of them ended up in a hospital

but hey, a case is a case

you shoved your phone in your pocket, slipped on your black hat and went to look for Jeon Jungkook and Min Yoongi

with the hat; no other human being should be able to see you

the occasional mystical beings should be able to see you (like “Goblin”)

but no being like that would live in the mortal world anyways

something sparked you though, (why did their names sound so familiar?)

the file said something about them working at a coffee shop

Golden Cafe? something like that

you saw a younger boy busting tables and running back and forth from cash register to cleaning tables

sweat was running from his forehead; he didn’t even have time to wipe it off

you knew you shouldn’t get involved with his life.. but you knew he was young

from the file, he must be the college student who was trying to pay off his bills

he was just trying to live life

and he was gonna die soon

you took off your hat before you entered the cafe

“hey are you hiring?”

Jungkook looked up at the girl he bumped into the other day

her cold, exterior was like a breath of cold air in the summer heat

she wasn’t smiling but he felt relaxed with her just being there

“uh.. ye-yeah.. do you have a resume?”

you slipped a fake one out from your laptop bag

Jungkook was nervous; you made him feel nervous and you could sense that

little did you know, you made him nervous because you were probably the prettiest girl he’s ever met

“umm.. maybe I’m not fit for the job..” you spoke softly

he vigorously shook his head

“nonono, that’s not it, you’re perfect! I mean our uniform is black.. and you’re already wearing black and…” Jungkook takes a closer look at you

and he swore.. he’s seen you before

“ha-have we met?”

you didn’t want to have him remember.. because if he did, he’d get attached

“I’m not sure..” you feigned

“oh.. okay..”

he turns around to help a customer but you got to it first

you were a perfectionist who was good at everything; so this was nothing too hard

Jungkook blushes a little; (she looks pretty when she’s working..)

his alarm from his phone rings; “I .. I have class..”

you gave him a reassuring smile, “go on.. I’ll be fine..”

he smiles as he picks up his backpack

“thanks! I let my boss know that you’re newly hired and all.. don’t worry about it!”

you nodded as the chime of the doorbell echoed the cafe

you felt the vibration of a text coming in

after helping a customer, you opened it

SUPERVISOR: I don’t know what you’re doing but I hope you know what you’re doing..

all you sent back was a “thumbs up” emoji

the voice in the back of your head throbbed your sense of concentration

within a few hours, you thought Jungkook was going to come back

but it wasn’t Jungkook

“you must be the new worker.. Jungkook told me all about you”

he had a name tag..

“you must be Yoongi?”

he gives you a soft smile as he walks towards the cash register

he was about to say something but the doors thud open

“SORRY I’M LATE HYUNG”

Jungkook comes back as the sun is setting along the horizon; causing the golden hour to fill the room with light

“oh so you met the boss of this place, y/n?”

you didn’t hear what he said, all you could think about was when was the last time you saw a room look so warm.. and full of life?

Yoongi notices you looking around the room; laughter bouncing off the walls and the sun toasting to the end of the day

“this is why it’s called Golden Cafe… our prime time is when the golden hour hits the cafe..” he mumbles

he couldn’t help but notice.. even though you seemed like a cold person.. you had the warmest set of eyes he’s ever seen

Yoongi wanted to say something again but the sound of continuous customers grew louder

“ohp time to get to work~” Jungkook says as he ushers you and Yoongi to back of the counter

the day doesn’t end until 10 pm; even then there were a straggler of customers who didn’t leave until 10:15..

you’d be lying if you didn’t feel worn out

when was the last time you physically worked this hard?

you were walking in between Jungkook and Yoongi

Yoongi pats you on the head, “you did good today, y/n..”

when he touches you, he feels like.. he’s known you sometime long ago.. maybe.. from a past life

he tries to figure out why does he have these feelings

you looked at Jungkook, “thank you.. but I didn’t work as hard as Jungkook, how can you handle all those hours of working and go to school at the same time?”

he flashes a bunny smile as he chuckles through his words, “I need to pay off for my classes somehow.. you gotta do what you gotta do I guess.. I wish I was as stable of Yoongi here..”

you looked over at Yoongi as he shakes his head

“I’m not as stable as you think I am..” but it’s barely audible enough for Jungkook to hear

all you had to do was watch over their souls so that they don’t become straggling, lost souls

what made their case so hard? did they really lead a normal life?

Jungkook got a text and Yoongi got a call

to Jungkook: you better get us our money back or you’ll know what will do.. meet us under the bridge

to Yoongi: “I don’t think we should meet each other anymore..”

you didn’t know what was going on

but they were definitely battling something beyond your control; unless you wanted to get involved

it’s been soooo long since you’ve seen your bubby, Hoshi

a couple of months felt like a couple of years

Hoshi: MY SWEET CUP OF SWEET TEA, I’LL BE LANDING AT THE AIRPORT IN 10 MINUTES

you were all giddy inside

but you needed to chill; you didn’t want to ruin the handcrafted “WELCOME HOME” poster you made him

all you sent him was a heart emoji

you were busy looking at the main entrance, you didn’t even see that he came from the other entrance

“BOO!”

Hoshi grabs your waist; causing you to screech

you turned to slap him in the chest before breathing into his jacket with a hug

“I missed you,” you whispered

for some reason, you started to tear up

you just missed him so much

“shh, shh”

Hoshi cups your face as he uses his thumbs to wipe away your tears

“I’m here.. I’m back.. I’m home..”

you looked up at him with your eyes blurring your vision

“welcome home,” you were a slobbering, sobbing mess

he wipes your snot with his sleeve

“I didn’t sign up to be your tissue; come on let’s go drop these stuff off so we can go on a cute date~”

he was swinging your arms back and forth

but you could tell that he didn’t want you to show him how jetlagged he was

you shook your head, “baby, your jetlagged..”

Hoshi’s demeanor softened..

“but..” he started

but you placed your finger on his lips

“I’m happy as long as we’re together..”

he UWUed at your statement

“this is why I love you~” Hoshi nuzzles in the crook of your neck as you lead him to the car

once you guys are home, he puts his stuff away as you helped him

Hoshi takes out a beautiful, light orange chiffon maxi romper that had a sweetheart line and a beautiful split train

“oh my gosh.. Hoshi… this is beautiful..”

he blushes as he ruffles the back of his hair

“I was walking around the city and I came across this on the mannequin.. I thought you’d like it..”

you threw your arms around his neck and gave him a shower of peppering kisses on his face

“THANKS BABE~”

you sat back to look at the romper even more

“is this why you wanted to head out tonight?” you spoke softly

he nods as he shoves his face in his sweater paws

you slithered through his arms so that you were enveloped in his embrace

“let’s go to that fancy pizza/gelato place across the lake?”

Hoshi’s smile grew wider, “I was about to suggest the same place~”

you guys made it to the place

Hoshi couldn’t stop looking at you

as you were shoving your face in your chicken alfredo pizza; as you were talking about what flavor gelato you should get

“I’m so happy that I have a wonderful and beautiful being like you in my life; you’re like a bucket of honey”

you pecked him on the nose

“please.. I don’t wanna die..”

the 10 year old boy clenched his hand around your wrist

begging for more time

but there wasn’t anything you could do

yes; it’s sad that unfortunate souls have to leave the mortal world

but it’s an inevitable cycle

the boy was suffering from an accident in which his alcoholic and abusive step-father threw him off a 2 story apartment

in which he became paralyzed from the neck down; only able to move his left hand

his step-father was thrown into jail for life and his mother committed suicide

you tipped your hat down as the boy drew his last breath as a tear fell from your eyes

“I’m sorry.. Woojinnie…” you muffled as the nurses covered his face with the white cloth

the sound of flat-lining rings in your ears for months after that

it was your first case

“y/n, if you keep getting emotionally attached with your cases, you’ll be moved back to gate guardian duty”

that was the last thing you wanted to happen

it was long overtime job that required you to judge who goes where; heaven, purgatory or hell

you shook your head and promised yourself that you’ll get yourself together and never be attached again

the more cases you took, the more you had to lock away your sympathetic side

you became more cold but never harsh

(a job is a job and a case is a case)

it was your day off and you took a stroll out in the streets; without your hat so you could be seen by humans

you were walking out of the hospital when you came across a room with two guys

(isn’t this the mental awareness wing?)

they looked happy; they were both there for each other

you looked at the names on the side of the door; Park Jimin.. and Jung Hoseok

“I swear Hoseok, if you leave me, I’ll make sure you come and haunt you!!” Jimin said as he threw a pillow at the other guy

“I could never!!” Hoseok smiles as he takes the hit

they both caught a glimpse of you leaving; “who was that?” Jimin asked as Hoseok shrugged

you exited the building and heard the sound of the silent strums of the guitar

you looked over at a guy with a lollipop in his mouth as he scribbled down after every couple of strums

he looks up at you and tries to gather inspiration from your cold, empty eyes

he didn’t look like the type to smile often; but he smiled at you

you nodded in response to his smile and walked away; you looked at him to see him close his musicbook

(Min Yoongi) it read

and with that you continued your stroll

“YOONGI HYUNG!”

thud

you ran into a young lad; who had a cup of hot chocolate that spilled all over your clad in black outfit

“oh.. I’m sorry..”

you looked up at the puppy-eyed fella

the guitar guy came over and offered some napkins

“are you okay?”

you nodded as you dabbed the damp spots of the hot chocolate with the napkins

“I’m so sorry…” the younger boy bowed to apologize

Yoongi slapped the younger boy on the arm, “Jungkook you need to watch where you’re going!”

“it’s really okay..” you spoke softly as you bowed back, “I need to be on my way now..”

the guitar guy lightly grabbed your wrist, “do you need us to take your clothes off the clean?”

you smiled at him, “you can never see stains on black, thank you but I’ll be fine..”

Yoongi let go of his grip and both him and Jungkook watched your black silhouette disappear around the corner

“I don’t know why.. but their presence was really calming..” Yoongi muttered and Jungkook nodded in agreement

(I just got this new jacket too…) you thought as you patted at the slightly dried-down stains

you came across a dock by the ocean where two guys were talking about the next place to spray paint

“you know Taehyung, maybe we can spray paint near the bridge near the mini mart?” the beanie headed guy spoke as he splashed his feet in the water

“we’re seriously running out of places to spray paint, Namjoon.. maybe we should move on to something else..” the deep-voiced guy responded as he left his feet to be soaked up with salty water

Namjoon leaned onto his back to think about it just to catch you walking by with headphones..

“maybe we should make music?” he muttered

Taehyung turned to look at him; surprised by his suggestion until he saw you

“maybe we should…”

on your way back to your apartment where all the other shinigamis stayed when they had cases, you came across a soft, yellow house with lilies growing in the front lawn

the mailbox read (Kim Seokjin)

a broad shouldered man opened his curtains and you appeared in his line of vision and you both made eye-contact

everything played in slow-motion

you glanced at him and turned your head to look at the road in front of you

and the thoughts that echoed in his head was.. (do I know them?)

placed your hot chocolate stained clothes into the wash and changed into your muted-colored lounge wear

that night was the first night in a long time that you wondered.. “will I ever get attached to a case again?”

THE NEXT DAY

you walked into the office of shinigamis to meet with your supervisor; he pulled up 7 case files

“their destiny will start when you choose their files; which one do you want to work on this time?”

note: I AM SO SORRY IF THIS WAS POSTED AFTER YOUR BIRTHDAY BUT HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY BUB

you were giddy about your birthday

it was coming up in two days

you felt a nudge coming from the left side of your body

“what are you smiling about doofus?”

it was Chan; aka your best friends

aka your childhood friend

aka YOUR FRICKING CRUSH

you’ve liked him since the beginning of the year and you’ve been hiding that since

but apparently, you haven’t been hiding it that well

the rest of his crew knows that you like him

they found out when they were teasing you when Chan left to go to the bathroom

“would you date one of us?” Minho jeers

you shook your head “NO;” with a jokingly disgusted face

Felix giggles, “is it because you like Chan?”

….

insert the sound of crickets

“y/n?”

you were stoned-face

before anyone could say anything else, Chan came back

but thank the lord none of them said anything to Chan… or at least that’s what you hoped

you looked back at Chan when he nudged you out of nowhere

all these thoughts were rushing in your head

without a word from either of you guys, he walks away

leaving you and your gaping mouth sitting in the library

you felt someone close your jaws

the boys looked at each other and shook their heads

Chan’s eyes don’t leave the whiteboard covered with math formulas, “hey just focus in class, okay mate?”

you got texts from the 00 line but you didn’t want to look at any of them

there were all going to talk about you and Chan

Jeongin bumps into you as you were leaving school for the day, “are you still host your birthday party thingy tomorrow?”

oh yeah.. it was suppose to be your birthday party tomorrow..

you smiled at him; but anyone could tell you were hurting inside

“probably not.. I’m not feeling too good..”

but he really wanted to ask, “what happened to you and Chan?”

that was the second day you walked home by yourself and you were beginning to miss Chan

you heard rustling nearby so you tried to turn your head into the direction of the noise

you looked back to the screen; he was in his car

he shook his head, “I’m not driving, I parked, I was just wondering what you’re up to now?”

you were talking about your feelings and your regrets

as Chan got up to your balcony, with roses in his hands, he heard the real reason why you wanted to be distant from him

“and.. I was just scared Felix….scared that Chan won’t like me the way i like him… I just don’t want to ruin our relationship because of my stupid feelings..”

“don’t be..”

you whipped your head around and saw Chan, with his ruffled hair and a bouquet of flowers

“wh-what are you..” you turned back to the phone but Felix already hung up

Chan took your cold hands into his warm hands; his hands were always warm

“you couldn’t never ruin our relationship..” you hung your head low, believing that you were going to be friendzoned

but Chan lifted your chin and looked at you in the eyes

you started to tear up

prompt: you lost your memory; you woke up to 9 guys who had memories with you.. during the time that you were in a coma, each boy made 1,000 cranes, hoping to grant them the wish of remembering them.. so .. who will you remember first?

How long have you been asleep? That was your first question when you woke up lying in a white, breezy hospital bed. The wind was blowing from the window and the sun was peeking through the see-through curtains; lined up on the window, were flowers of many colors, shapes and sizes. There were also a bottle of containers that held in.. what was it.. paper cranes? It brought a smile to your face.. How did I get here? You’d think to yourself..

“Oh… you’re awake?”

JEONGIN [I.N.]

the boy starts to tear up

he’s standing there with a basket of paper cranes

the amount of shock caused him to drop the basket

“Y/N!!!”

the boy runs towards you and shoves your face into his chest

“excuse me…”

he looks down at you

“who are you?”

the boy falls down onto his knees

“it’s me.. Jeongin… your junior in Literature club…”

all the old memories starting rushing back to him

FLASHBACK

he noticed you as you were handing out flyers for Literature Club

your smile was blinding but he wanted to see more of it

he bashfully took the flyer from you; as he grazed your hand, his heart started to run away from the fear of any possible form of rejection

one time, Jeongin came to the literature club room early

he takes off his school blazer and puts it over your shoulders

he holds his breathe; hoping that this isn’t a dream and that he can keep this moment imprinted in his head forever

Jeongin turns to push your hair out of your face

BACK FROM FLASHBACK

he lets go of his grip and shuffle his feet towards his basket

there were so many paper cranes on the ground

you got up from your bed and took off all the annoying tubes

you also shuffled over to pick them up with them

“why are there so many paper cranes..” you asked as you looked up from picking some off of the ground

he was crying

“why are you crying??”

you lifted your hand to wipe off the tears

“y/n?”

HYUNJIN

you and Jeongin both look up at the door

the tall boy starts to smile

tears lined up on his water line

immediately picks up his phone and starts to yell

“HYUNG!! Y/N’S AWAKE!!”

after a few shouting words, he shoves his phone in his pocket

he kneels down and cups your face

“do you remember me? it’s Hyunjin!!”

he squishes your face; making you feel like a little Shiba Inu

“I-agk..don-don’t reme-member uuu~” you tried to speak through the aggressively soft face squishing

Hyunjin stops

he looks over and Jeongin

Jeongin shakes his head at him

Hyunjin looks back at you and his smile softens

he got lost in your big and clueless eyes; remembering how he met you for the first time

FLASHBACK

he was a part-timer at a diner and a puppy cafe across the streets

the door opens; indicating that a customer was walking in

“welcome to-”

he was speechless at you

he believes that you were the most beautiful being he’s ever seen in his life

“um.. I’m here under the reservation of Jun?” you spoke softly

“oh yeah… right this way..”

he realized that you were there on a date

but hours and hours later, you were still sitting in that lone booth with the same glass of water from a few hours ago..

“um.. we’re closing now…”

you sighed in relief

“I’m glad that I don’t have to anymore blind dates after this, I’ll tell my parents it didn’t work out.. sorry for holding up space..”

he shakes his head

“it’s alright.. if.. if you’re a little hungry, would you like to go to the puppy cafe across the street? I work there too…”

you smiled as you took his hand

“sounds like a better plan than one I had for today..”

BACK FROM FLASHBACK

Hyunjin comes up to you; mad at your date and sad that someone as beautiful as you

he helps you and Jeongin place the paper cranes back into the basket

then he helps you up and leads you to the array of flowers and paper cranes by the window

he points you to the glass container with a pretty yellow ribbon wrapped around it

“I made those for you..” Hyunjin said, still holding your hand

you turned to look at Jeongin as he placed his basket next to it

“what are they used for?” you asked the both of them

but another voice answered for them

WOOJIN

“there’s a legend that promises the wish of the person who makes a 1000 paper cranes…all of us want to make a wish that you’ll get well and remember us…”

you turned to see who was talking

there was a soft-haired boy who looked like a teddy bear

he was holding a guitar case; there was a little keychain that looked familiar but you couldn’t pinpoint from where

“hey y/n..” he stuck out his hand, “I’m Woojin.. we’re.. from the same class..”

Jeongin settles by the window

Hyunjin leads you back to the bed for you to sit down

Woojin takes out his guitar

“I remember how much you liked listening to me play the guitar.. so I thought I’d come and play some to you today… I’m glad that.. you’re awake now..”

“Hyung! why are you being so humble? y/n, did you know he comes in everyday.. EVERYDAY.. just to play the guitar to you? even if you were still sound asleep, he’d play the guitar for you…” Hyunjin exclaimed

you turned to look at Woojin

he was turning pink as he focused on tuning his already tuned guitar

“Woojin..”

he looks up when you called him name

“what was my favorite song?”

Woojin smiles as he takes the pick out of his pocket

FLASHBACK

Woojin was trying to raise money to get a new guitar

so he was buskering in the streets of Seoul

he starts off with “LOST STARS”

gathering a crowd of people, you were also pulled in by his lovely voice

it was so mesmerizing

when it was over, you walked over to place in $20

which was a lot for one person to give

surprised he looked up to see an angel

“thank you for performing my favorite song so beautifully; you made me love it so much more..”

he beams and he thanks you

little did you both know, both of you went to the same school

so when you both saw each other again in the music room

he felt like it was fate that he got to see you again

BACK FROM FLASHBACK

it meant so much more to him now that you were awake

once he finishes, he looks up to see your face

but you were already looking at someone else

Minho was at the door

waiting for Woojin to finish his performance

but he caught your attention by accident

you thought as you were slowly drowned out by Woojin’s voice

“wow… Woojin hyung, you’re so good at singing…” he claps as he entered the room

he had a bouquet of flowers for you; forget-me-nots wrapped up in a baby blue ribbon

Woojin sets his guitar down

“you should really refrain from bringing anymore flowers, hyung… it’s gonna end up looking like a flower shop,” Jeongin muttered

you smiled as Minho placed it in your arms

“I don’t mind…”

Minho sits next to you

“I’m Minho…you used to visit my family’s flower shop a lot..”

you looked at him and back at the flowers

“I guess I really liked flowers…”

Minho chuckles

“yeah.. you came by everyday…”

you were interested about your life before your accident

“what did I usually get?”

Minho got flustered by how close you were but he didn’t move away

he turns his surprised red faced into a soft smile

“you got yellow roses a lot…do you know the meaning of them?”

you shook your head

Minho remembers how you came into his shop for the first time

“um.. I have this friend and I really think that our friendship is going to last and I want to thank them…. what kind of flowers should I get?”

“yellow roses… to cherish a friendship so happy and strong..”

he was so blessed to have you come into his shop; on more occasions than most

one time.. you got yellow roses again.. but this time, you gave it to Minho

“thank you for educating me on flowers and making my life a happy garden..”

Minho turns to look at you, sitting on the hospital bed

“they symbolize a friendship so happy and strong..”

“sounds like our relationship.. was a happy one..” you mumbled as you took a deep breath of the flowers in front of you

CHAN

you heard crashing outside the hallways

followed by the sound of the door swinging open

“Y/N!!!”

a boy who resembled a koala came dashing forward

he ended up tripping on his foot and fell face forward into Minho’s bouquet which was on your lap

“CHAN ARE YOU SERIOUS?!”

Minho shoves off him

Chan had flower petals all over his face and hair

speaking of hair, his hair was incredibly fluffy and curly

you chuckled at him

“hello there…” you spoke in a calm voice

“y/n.. you’re way too calm for all of this right now…” Jeongin said as he folded away at his paper cranes

Chan just looked up at you wide-eyed

“staring at them isn’t going to make them remember you..” Woojin said as he strummed soft chords as background music

the guy was still at your knees; looking up at you

you reached over to pick off the petals off of his face

in that moment, he recalls the first time he met you

“I KNOW YOU DON’T REMEMBER BUT I’M GOING TO TELL YOU HOW WE MET!!!”

Chan tells you about how he was running his bike until he runs into a pole because he was trying to avoid running into you right in front of the school gate

it was his first day of school, coming in from Australia, he wasn’t planning to be a klutz but it turned out that way

instead of walking away like any bystander, you walked over and took care of his scrapes and bruises

although he was so happy to see you wake up

you got up and made your way out the door

huffing and puffing; you had enough energy to open the door

the guy’s attention shifted towards the sound of the metal door opening

he dashes over to take your hand after seeing your knees shake from lack of support

he looks around for nurses or any of the other guys

“I thought… maybe.. you knew me?” you softly exclaimed

he remembers how he was sitting on his roof when you heading back home from cram school

he had his telescope out and he was charting constellations

“I know this is weird but could I join you?”

the guy looks down from his scope to see you, who was in the same uniform as him

he knew you

you were pretty well-known for being nice to everyone

the boy nods as he points to the ladder by the side of his house

you both sit in silence to take in the beauty of the stars in the sky

and that was how you guys had a tradition of looking at the stars every clear night

the guy quietly leads you towards the bench

he looks at you and his heart starts to hurt

there was another guy who seemed to know you

at that moment, the strain of holding your weight up made your knees collapses

the guy was quick enough to hold you up bridal-styled

“you just woke up! you aren’t as fit as you’d be after sleeping for a year and a half!”

“I’ve..I’ve been asleep for that long?”

Felix shot him a stern look and the boy went quiet

you gripped that sleeve of the boy who was carrying you

“I rather know than to not know… as of right now.. I don’t know anything..and it’s driving me crazy..”

you hid your head in the crook of his neck

for some reason.. his scent smelled familiar

FLASHBACK [Changbin]

you were running in PE when you rolled your ankle

Changbin was the one who saw the incident happen so he carried you on his back to the infirmary room

“idiot.. you need to watch out where you’re stepping..” he mutters

he feels you tighten your grip on him

“what’s that? you want to be placed in a choke hold?”

he starts to tap on your arm to release your arm from his neck

you chuckled as you let go, then placed your head on one side of his shoulder

“thanks…” you took a breathe of his musky and familiar cologne

BACK FROM FLASHBACK

“let’s bring you back to the room…I’m Changbin by the way..”

the way his name rolled off your tongue felt natural

they were all making paper cranes

the boy gets up and dusts his pants off

judging from his uniform, he probably just got off of practice

but his smile seemed so sad

you looked out the window; the sun was setting

they all nodded; as they continued to fold paper cranes

you nodded

he raised his hand and placed it on your head

this triggered another nostalgic feeling in you

Seungmin remembers… he used to place his hand on your head all the time

especially when his team didn’t win because of a faulty or a bad ref

“you guess played so well… you guys deserve to win..” you’d sniffle

he’d place his hand on your head

“we’ll just practice harder.. will make sure you see us win…”

Seungmin comes back from a trip down memory lane as Felix speaks up

there was yet another boy, with a pair of headphones and a scrapbook

he spoke up after gazing at you for a while

you placed the headphones over your ears and opened to the first page of the book

as you were taking your time down memory lane, with the lyrics speaking of times you don’t recall.. you felt like you knew yourself a little bit more

Jisung just sat next to you as you flipped through page after page

he smiles at you

he remembers how you guys always met up at his treehouse; a secret base

how his 5 year old self announced his love for you and promised you that he was going to marry you

how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with you by the time you both entered high school

and how he blamed himself for letting what happened to you.. happen to you

the boys were gathering the last of the cranes together so that there were a total of 9,000 cranes .. a total of 9 wishes

when you finished flipping through the book, the last words of the song was said through Jisung’s voice

you looked up and all the boys were lined up

Chan spoke up, “we.. we’re going to tell you what happened to you…”

it was your birthday and the last day of school

you had nothing planned for the rest of the day but to start on summer break homework

Changbin came by your class and asked for your hand

“I can’t wait.. so here you go..” he slips a charm bracelet on your wrist

“you better not lose it..” he mumbles sheepishly as he shoves his hands in his pockets

you were walking when Felix and Hyunjin came at you from both sides of your arms and picked you up

you were scared for your life; but it was a funny moment

your indoor shoe came off and hit Hyunjin’s face

causing all your weight to fall onto Felix and you guys were all stacked up; laughing

until you guys had to run away from the student body president

you hid in the music room where Woojin was practicing something

your sudden appearance almost made him drop his guitar

when you turned your head around; he dangled a keychain in front of your face

Chan left his present for you leaned up on your house gate; a new bike (since your old one got wrecked).

you left the “happy birthday” bow on it and made your way towards the waterfront

there were a string of lights leading up to the waterfront

that’s when you saw all of the boys lined up with a banner; “HAPPY BIRTHDAY Y/N~”

they had a cake ready for you too

you were crossing the street until the sound of a blaring truck closed in on you

you turned to see the light of the truck pierce into your soul

you didn’t feel the collision

everything happened in slow motion

the boys ran to you; dropping the banner, the presents and the cake

it was a day to celebrate.. but it was day you were almost taken away from them…

After hearing the whole story, you were in so much shock.. you couldn’t comprehend anything.. “Do you think it was too soon to tell them?” Jeongin whispered to Woojin.. You shook your head.. “I think.. I think I need time to myself.. I feel like I remember.. but then I don’t.” They all nodded at each other and packed their things to leave. Everyone left except for Changbin.. he reaches into his pocket and takes out that charm bracelet.. “we each made 1,000 paper cranes for you…don’t give up yet..” You nodded as he left..

That night you had a dream, it seemed more like a lost memory that came back to you. There was a missing piece that interlocked every memory that the boys had with you. There was someone that you gave the yellow roses to. Someone who helped you reach a book from the high shelves of the library. Someone carried you home after falling asleep in the literature club room. Someone who was there for you most of the time even when you’d least expect it..

You woke up with tears in your eyes… The sun was peaking through and the wind’s breeze got caught in your baby hairs. That “someone” was laying their head on your lap; probably stayed to take care of you. Memories of them rushes in your head, you brushed their hair out of their face, “???”

he would definitely not pry into your business

he’ll hug you extra tight

Woojin would let your tears soak up his shirt and it’s totally fine with him

he will rub circles on your back

slowly rocking you back and forth

he would also occasionally look at your face to see if you have calmed down or not yet

once he finds you asleep in his arms

he’ll carry you to your room and tuck you in

without ever leaving you, he turns off the lights a

pecks you on the forehead

he tries to feed you food

which worked most of the times

but you were really sad this time

and he realized that you told Chan, “I’m not hungry..”

he quickly puts his food down as he sees the tears trickle along your waterline

You took a deep breathe; here you are entering JYP Academy as a new transfer student. You were never big on finding love or developing crushes since your main focus was studying.. So the main idea was to focus on your studies.. but somehow 9 popular boys of the school were going to focus on you…

WOOJIN

he sees you walking in the hallways

most likely to the teacher’s office

but you were definitely lost

Woojin noticed you from the entrance of the school since he is the president of the student body

(are they new? they’re so good looking…)

he wasn’t following you… he’d tell himself

he was just walking in the “same” direction as you

you heard another set of footsteps and stopped

you turned to see who was behind you

Woojin did a terrible job at hiding himself

“can I help you?” your soft voice echoed

“uh.. I was wondering if you want help..”

“what?”

he looked a little more reserved and dark

you just wanted to sit down

so you eyed around the class for an empty seat away from commotion

you walked towards the seat in the back near the windows

but one of the female classmates stuck her foot out

you noticed it last minute so you tripped on it

after you dried your hands, you exited the restroom

there were a flock of girls surrounding the guys restroom; waiting for someone

their neckties indicated that they were a grade below you

“I SAW FELIX LEAVE OUT THE WINDOW OF THE BATHROOM SO THAT MEANS HE’S IN THE COURTYARD!!” someone called out to the group

at that moment, the flock of girls rushed to where the courtyard was

you heard a “pst” behind you

“pst.. are they gone?”

you turned to the guy’s restroom to see a blonde hair boy

you looked around again

then turned back to him and nodded

the boy sighs in relief

“thank you so much.. I didn’t even get to dry my hands…all the paper towel was gone and I couldn’t find paper towel with a flock of classmates..”

you looked at his hands that were dripping with the sink’s water

you reached into your pocket and took out your handkerchief

“I only use this when there’s no more paper towel.. you can use it..”

he finally takes the time to look at you

word has it; he heard about the new beauty of the school

he’s never seen you around and he knew that he would notice you somehow if you did

you heard gossiping from your classmates

your class was doing tennis; which held place in the courts next to the baseball field

you decided to by singles since you were the odd one out; without a partner

when you started playing, you gathered lots of attention from both classes

“I bet they’re secretly a volleyball player..”

you didn’t want to be physically exhausted since you were already mentally exhausted from school

you passed a light rock band club

“Jeongin.. you’re good at singing but… something feels empty.. maybe because our bassist already graduated..” you heard

you knocked the door of the club

“I heard.. you guys needed a bassist?”

Jeongin looked up to see someone so beautiful, he dropped the mic

causing feedback to stab everyone’s ears

“so-sorry!!”

he picks it up and dusts it off; trying not to smile stupidly in front of a beauty

there was the blonde guy you saw earlier at the drums, Chan, from your class, at the keyboard, the president of the student body with a mic/acoustic guitar and the clumsy guy that had the handouts at the electric guitar

“oh y/n! I thought you’d be more into sports..” Woojin said

Jeongin looks at Woojin

“let’s test how good you are at everything, huh? you have a bass?” Chan says without making eye contact with you

honestly no one was able to make eye contact with you; but they kept sneaking in looks at you

“I’m not good at everything… I just..like to experiment a lot so I try out everything I can get my hands on…” you softly spoke, “I didn’t bring my bass…”

Jeongin gets up and walks to the music room’s closet

he hands you a case

you looked down as you opened the case.. it was a beautiful Rickenbacker 4003w Walnut

you tuned it a little and started playing it a little

Jeongin was sending you heart eyes

he wasn’t giving you attention since he came back from Japan

he came to your place with fried chicken and that’s what he was preoccupying himself with for the past 30 minutes

Woojin hands you the last piece

“do you want it-?”

you gave him a peck on his cheek

he went wide-eyed with his mouth full of chicken

“you can have it.. in return, I want a kiss in return.. I’ve missed you..”

you pouted

Woojin was trying to lean in to return a kiss

you teared up as you used the last of your coins to try to get a Gudetama pudding plushy

a handsome stranger walks up next to you

a bit flustered, you answered him, “I-I wanted that Gudetama pudding plushy but I ran out of coins…”

he pulls out his arcade coins and stands in front of the machine

“I’ll get it for you,” he smiles and you instantly melted

“n-no it’s okay, you don’t have to!” you tried to put your hands out in front of him

but the claw successfully carries the plushy up and over to the collection box

he pulls the plushy out and then hands it to you

out of habit, you jumped onto you tippy toes and kissed him on the cheeks

after the plushy was in your hands and you saw his reaction, you were flustered once again

Seungmin poked your side when you started ignoring him for Jisung

you furrowed your brows as you pouted

it was kind of awkward since you liked Jeongin

Jeongin tried to break the silence as you both were choosing what to get

“I-I think I just want something simple like vanilla…”

you tried to look busy; digging in your bag for your wallet

you looked up at him, but he wasn’t looking at you

“could we get a vanilla cone and a mint chocolate chip cone?”

he looked so dependable; even though he was just paying for ice cream

Jeongin hands you your ice cream and you thanked him

to prevent any awkward conversations, you indulged in your ice cream

Jeongin leans in closer and raises his hand up to get it for you
