"You're staying where I can look after you." Elijah juggled the bag of James' stuff. "You probably will be, but it's more about a peace of mind and having you were I can find you in case anything happens. I've already got the spare room sorted, Missy is there, your family know where you're gonna be, it's sorted."
Getting checked out of the clinic, James looked back at his friend once more, uncertainty clear on his features. "Ya sure you want me to stay with ya for a week? I'll be fine, really." Well, maybe he wouldn't, but he would sooner lie and struggle alone than feel like he were burdening anyone.

"Ah, you see, now that's a little too old for me personally." Christian rolled his eyes playfully. "Got to have really good, strong hips to keep up with me." He patted his own hips at that. "Oh no thanks, unfortunately, he's not my type. I don't go for creepy that's a huge turn off."
Of course, some things needed a little explanation. "I own it. The place is mine. Why? Were you thinking you were in the company of an incredibly handsome and spry eighty-seven year old?" He genuinely laughed, something Floyd didn't do often. "Well, maybe he likes what he sees, and hopes the next bed you jump into is his?" He shrugged, "You could do it, make it a shitty experience for him, and he'll leave you alone."

Christian started the car up, it sputtered to life after a couple of tries then started to drive further into town, hoping they'd make it before his car decided to give up again thanks to this place. "I've noticed the incredible amount of under 12 year olds in this town. The high school is about to get busier once those kids make it there." He glanced at her with a shrug. "For the time being, it's staying with me."
“It’s not an issue, but whatever you prefer,” Hayden smiled and got into the passenger seat. “My place is in the apartment building a block from town hall, I’ll point it out. You know this stuff could come in handy here, it shouldn’t come as a surprise there’s quite a few pregnancies in this town,” she chuckled.

Joey lowered the script and put his hands on his hips as he watched Art pace before rolling his eyes. "Look, I have a day job to get back to at some point. Could you please stop pacing and just give me notes on this scene." He flapped the script around and dropped his arms. "Every good director is prepared with notes."

"Couldn't forget about you even if I tried." Matt said with a smile then asked the bar tender to fill up their glasses again. "Honestly? I have no idea how to feel about it all either, I'm right there with you, mate. We've somehow managed to find ourselves landing on our feet here."
He mirrored Matt, clinking their empty glasses together. "Funny isn't it?" He chuckled after Matt's explanation, a lot happening for his friend over the span of two years. "And me, don't forget that you got me. But I feel the same. Sure I've had Phoenix in some capacity over the years, but he left and came back. At that point I really had no one. A few people I considered friends, but I know how people in town look at me. Now at 40, me and Phoenix are closer than ever, I have a daughter...I have stuff I didn't even know I needed or wanted. And I don't really know how to feel about all that." He was only a few shots in, he couldn't start getting emotional.

Matt wiped his hands on a rag as he went into the office to finish off the paper work Axel had asked him to do so he didn't hear Ollie come into the garage but he did glance up and spot her through the window so got up and went out. "Um, hello? You do realise this isn't a viewing gallery, right?" Matt raised an eyebrow at the question. "We perform sacrificial rituals, get naked, cover ourselves in goats blood and chant."
location: the garage
closed starter for: @wanderinglcst (matt)
ollie always had too many questions for her own good, and that often lead her to poking around where she didn't need to be. she had a car parked somewhere near her apartment, but it didn't need repairs and it never got used. and yet there she was, wandering around the garage until she found another unsuspecting soul going about his business. "what exactly do you do here?" she blurted out, her eyebrows pulled together in curiosity.

"It's fine honestly, it'll keep me occupied and not thinking about how wet my hardware store is." He groaned a little. "I can't believe it, it's just a mess in there, I've tried my best but I have to throw a lot of it out." Louis shook his head. "Never mind that, how are you after all this?"
“soon i think, probably doesn’t want to be closed longer than a week if that’s possible? i know it’s asking a lot and that’s fairly quick but she might also just open and not open the lobby for the time being i’d need to talk to her.” it was all assumptions of course, tiana didn’t want customers to get hurt by a chair possibly breaking under them when they sat and she assumed the owner the owner didn’t want that either.

"Considering how unpredictable my temper can be, yes." Christian nodded, looking around the room now then back at her. "I worked on the frontlines of a trauma centre back in Boston for a long time, I'm very used to things going wrong very quickly."
“Good to know you’re handling disaster with some grace,” Dorothy replied, glancing up at him through her eyelashes as she wrote. “It’s a bit out of the normal for even the outside world— so it’s good to know you can manage such events… Have you always handled unpredictable things well?”

"Agree, let's keep going." Matt knocked his next shot back with a wince and coughed a bit. "Here's to being 40." He held up his empty glass to clink against Dodgers. "Did you know, when I turned 40 I had no one. I turned 42 the other day and somehow have managed to gain a whole husband, his family, a boyfriend and my ex wife with my child are in town."
Sammie's Place // Matt Romero-Walker // @wanderinglcst
"Look," Dodger began as he took his next shot from the bar, "I'm forty now, which legally means I'm allowed to have an afternoon nap after going day drinking." He knew Phoenix would be busy at work right now, with all the issues in town, and Jay was at school, so of course Dodger called upon Matt to come and spend the day with him. "Which means, we should keep going."

"Yes you did." Christian acknowledged with a nod. "But I'm still apologising because of my temper getting the best of me." As usual. He slumped his shoulders some now. "My radio isn't wet if you want to contact someone?" He offered now.
"I started it," he said quietly, still not looking at Christian. "You getting heated was a natural consequence of me being upset." Even if it had made Edgar shut down, his freeze and fawn instincts kicking in from years of fighting.

"An hour huh?" Christian moved onto his side now and smirked at Oliver, moving his hand to trail it up his bare hip. "That's okay, not everyone is ready to come out, especially when you get to our ages and we feel stuck in our ways. I never felt the need to come out, I'm just what I am and always have been. I'm attracted to everyone regardless."
Oliver tried to hide the blush that formed on his cheeks. This was different but in a good way, like letting pressure out of the kettle ones it's done. "We have about and hour..." He mentioned "Ward doesn't know about this yet... "he motioned between them" "I mean that I also like men"

Siobhan had a slight limp from her run into town so when Trixie pulled her back from nearly going tit over arse on the pavement, she righted herself. "Bloody hell, is it always like this here?" She kicked the piece of wood away into the road.
WHERE: Town
WHO: Siobhan Doyle ( @wanderinglcst )
"Woah, be careful there," Trixie said, reaching to gently tug the other woman to the side seconds before an accident occurred. Thankfully, the water had subsided, but all the rebuilding had the town once more in disarray. She was beginning to wonder if they were now permanently living in a construction zone. "I only say that because I biffed it on this exact sidewalk like two days ago. Learn from my errors. Save yourself."

Elijah wasn't sure what to think about his tone but allowed it to happen anyway so at the revelation that he was Bev's brother he smiled. "Oh! Okay, it's nice to meet you. I'm Elijah... I would shake your hand but y'know, eggs." He gestured with his head to them. "Straight to the point huh? Well, I think she's great, she's beautiful, smart and very kind."
"I'm her brother," Jeremiah admitted. "Just checking in on her and I noticed you two seemed close, so I figured I should check you out too." He looked over Elijah briefly. "What do you think of her?"

"Good idea." He did like the idea of a shower which made him smile then unclip his radio from his belt, holding it out to her. "Go ahead, see how he's doing."
Beverly arched her back into his touch, her eyes wandering his face in worry. “Yes. Please. When we get back, we’ll just shower… Make sure it’s not on your skin. I'll help you.” She was just so focused on him at the moment that the second her brother was mentioned, she immediately nodded out of guilt and even more worry. “Please? I’m not sure where he is and I’m afraid he got caught up in whatever happened on the streets.”

Elijah was busy getting together some food at the market since James was staying with him again, he needed to stock up on whatever he could find so when Jeremiah practically stormed over, he juggled the stuff in his arms.
"Um, hello?" He raised an eyebrow, juggling the eggs as carefully as he could. "Yes, I know Beverly. We're kind of trying the dating thing, why?"
where: somewhere only we know
who: elijah atkins (@wanderinglcst)
Jeremiah had seen the man speaking intimately with his sister, so naturally he had to find out who the man was. Once he saw him alone, he approached with determined steps.
“Hey,” he said. “You know Beverly Torrance, right?”

Matt turned his hand around in hers and held onto it with a smile. "I was alone for two years before then, but I'm so glad I found him and Hobbes eventually, they've honestly been a light in the darkness." He leaned in and kissed the side of her head. "I'm so happy to see you both again and sad too, because you're trapped here as well. It's not what I wanted for you."
Tali listened closely as Matt explained how he and Hawk met, and it all felt so Matt that she could believe every word. She smiled faintly as he brought up their past briefly, always remembering it fondly with a twinge of wistfulness. “That sounds about right,” she said, taking a drink of her beer. “I’m glad you haven’t been alone this whole time,” she admitted, reaching over to lay her hand over his, giving it a squeeze. “I’m glad you’re happy.”
