oc question for flumblr bc i've been thinking about it:

how do your characters open & sign off their letters?? does it change depending on their feelings/closeness to who they're writing to? tell me your thoughts i wanna know👀

twitch always opens theirs with some variation of "ahoy and good morrow to you, my [some kind of bizarre adverb+title they've assigned you]" and Always signs off with "Ciao! ~Capt. Twitchery" no variation, no matter how they feel

grace addresses letters with "dearest [title/surname]" and always signs off with "Your obedient servant, Lt.Grace." he doesn't change it often, but if you somehow push him to using "kind regards" then he fucking hates you. if you somehow get him to use "regards" it's because he thinks you should be dead

desuetude- they’ve made it to the seventh city. what relics of their past in London are they still holding onto?

gallimaufry- what’s their silliest outfit? the most chaotic jumble of items that would make no sense in real life but has excellent stats.

inveterate- is there a habit, good or bad, that they just can’t break?

absquatulate- what does it take to make them run away from a fight?

petrichor- do they have a particular scent?

axolotl- what’s their favorite animal companion?

primordial- what event in their backstory was the most formative to them today?

5: Speech! Speech! Speech! Speech! Will they give one, and what about? initially answered that here, so now i'll write some of it. why not?

27: Forgiveness or vengeance (or…)? Ultimately, forgiveness. He generally believes in the good in people (even when it's not there) and where would any good apologist be without forgiveness?

30: What would they do if they knew it would be forgiven? This is pretty difficult. Even if he knew others would forgive him, he's familiar enough with guilt to know that he's not so good at forgiving himself.

Maybe something to do with Mr Stones – bringing up its past, trying to empathise with it. Talking about feelings is anathema to Stones, and a guarantee of forgiveness would go a long way in encouraging him to do that.

me and @the-ardent-dilettante were talking the other day about matching up dnd classes and FL professions

Licentiate: 100% Rogue, for the sneakiness and poisoning. Struggling to think of a class which fits the more Katatox side though.

Monster-Hunter: A lot of the martial classes fit quite well, but I'd say primarily Fighter and Ranger.

Midnighter: Rogue again, obviously. You could maybe manage a midnighter Cleric, though – the shrine to Saint Joshua, and all that.

Silverer: Ranger or Warlock, depending on specialisation. Parabola is very feywild-y if you think about it

Correspondent: Wizard or Bard! The watchful/persuasive split. Artificer too, if you're going in a red science direction.

Crooked-Cross: Cleric or Bard. Honestly I'd love to see a Crooked-across Cleric subclass that'd be rad

having now played scarlet hollow:

Briar has mystical and book smart. (i was considering hot in a kind of "he's a wet cat but at least he's a little dignified about it" kinda way, but book smart fits a bit better)

Avery is hot and street smart. (easiest choice of my LIFE, she is going to break into the forbidden wings and kiss whoever's playing the piano)

Shale is powerful build and talk to animals. (everyone can talk to animals of course, but it's the right vibes for shale. paying attention to the overlooked and under-appreciated folk)

a one year follow up to my previous attempt at stylizing my fallen london pc in the style of the exceptional stories! one (1) equippable artist companion please

i've only this year started delving into mini comics/art with little dialogue snippets and it's been a Blast and i'm having fun writing little conversations and trying to figure out oc's individual speech patterns this way

but man did i shoot myself in the FOOT having two ocs who both speak in formal drawn out sentences!!!! it is a nightmare trying to condense twitch's words into little bubbles bc they don't shut up!!

#honestly i feel like i still need to get briar's voice down #maybe i'll procrastinate my coursework by doing that one voice meme that i saw #or write a bunch of train dialogue for him #and then refer back to that when i'm writing him in the future #the woes of having a character that was initially just #'what would i do in this situation' #he's still like 40% just me yknow #this is not really the place to go off about characterisation woes though #so i will stop
