I saw your headcanon about Liet having two different eye colors. How did he lose his original eye color?

I hc that his eyes were once both steely blue. His eye was injured, and it changed colour as it healed. He had heterochromia for an uncertain period of time.

Truthfully, I have not really fleshed out the details too much. I think Tolys injured his remaining blue eye himself to force it to match. He was self-conscious about his heterochromia, and it was a reminder of unpleasant memories. 

His initial eye injury most likely occurred when he was taken by Ivan, either during fighting or during Liet's 'reconditioning', to force him to become obedient. I think Ivan was perhaps fond of his blue eyes. Which also might have been why Liet injured his remaining blue eye.

Sort of a way to spite Ivan or to help him move past trauma to solidify that he isn't Ivan's timid little lacky anymore.

i know its a contentious ship but im also pretty sure most people who like rusliet know theyre not good for each other. what could be more compelling than a doomed relationship? you can look at the very moment they get together, in the dynamic of your choice, and know theyd get divorced in every universe. there is not always love but there is always a goddamn situation, and the stress of a forced audience to boot.

working on massive projects, even if i don’t have a plan with what i’m going to do with them like publishing/etc, i want the content to be good. it’s like a little beam of hope for the future. but with it being so big, editing, re-editing what i’ve edited, i can see my style change throughout the piece, and it becomes hard to tell what’s “good.” and i hate to say it but i really dont want to rewrite this monstrosity… but sometimes it seems like the whole thing needs reevaluated
