Blush
Salem, Oregon | 2014
Blush arose from an ongoing investigation into alternate modes of sensation, which began in 2012 with works that transposed one sense into the medium of another (e.g. touch as sound, proprioception as vision). The cameras used to create Blush were constructed of foamcore, velvet, and vinyl and fitted with Fresnel zone plates of a size appropriate to capture long-duration interior photographs in panorama, subverting and augmenting the human senses of vision and time.
The extended exposure time allows the representing of the people within the photographs not as recognizable yet lifeless specters, but as objects interacting with, moving through, and actively modifying space. A human being appears not as a body on a sheet, but as the silver blush of their aggregate movements.
A single space, a coffee shop, was selected and cameras were erected during various times of day to create a sampling of motion over time over time.

Licorice and Light
Salem, Oregon | 2014
Consisting of various plants lumen printed onto silver gelatin paper, Licorice and Light is an experiment in bridging the similarly regimented and dogmatic systems of photography and post-renaissance alchemy, playing off of the similarities in their materials. The spiritual uses of various photochemicals—gold and silver, namely—couple with the spiritual aspects of the plants selected, as well as the planetary hours the images were exposed during, to create an object with both artistic and ritualistic meaning.
Lilies consists of lilies printed onto paper and toned with gold chloride, having been exposed to moonlight during lunar perigee at full moon. They act as talismans to encourage creativity within the space they are hung.
Roses act as love talismans, predicated on taking a sense of comfort and bringing it into something more. Toned with licorice root and lavender, there is a commanding and compelling aspect to their composition. The exposures were conducted over a 50 hour period while it was raining.
Selenium Lilies are exposures originally intended for Lilies, but toned in selenium instead of gold chloride, strengthening the spiritual bond with the moon rather than adding in that of the sun.

Not exactly what you're looking for, but I though I should mention I own a book called Get High Now, which is literally just a book of various odd ways to induce trance states. Here's my favorite one which is, unfortunately, audio-based: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gv3mDM2AFUo
Is there anything online I could watch to get me into a real, i guess trance like state. Something relaxing and hypnotic like? kind of like those swirly hypnotic things but less straining on the eyes x.x
