I think it's time for another rambling post about my OCs, which is just my way of procrastinating on those character info pages I mentioned in a different rambling post.
Today's topic is something I will call "character groups", click keep reading if that sounds interesting (it probably doesn't).
First off, what is a "character group"? (within the context of my OC multiverse)
For the purposes of this post, a "character group" (or simply a "group") is a set of characters who (while not necessarily knowing each other's existence) could all plausibly interact with each other within canon (while being virtually unable to interact with characters outside the group).
The boundaries of "groups" aren't strictly defined, the concept is more of something I noticed about my OCs that probably doesn't apply to many other things.
Since that's probably not the best definition, here's an example that doesn't use my OCs.
The entire cast of the Super Mario franchise would be considered one "group", the cast of the Legend of Zelda franchise would be a second "group", and the cast of the Kirby franchise would be a third "group".
Mario, Link, and Kirby would all be part of separate groups, despite appearing alongside each other in Super Smash Bros.
Now onto the part that actually talks about my OCs.
Let's start with Rose, because I have to pick someone.
Let's say that Rose is in Group A, because these groups don't have official names but I still want a concise way of differentiating them.
Rose is attending a Japanese High School (for reasons unrelated to this post), so everyone who goes to that school (whether as a student or a teacher) is also in Group A.
This includes Numeri and her adventuring party (who (minus Kazuma) are Rose's classmates).
Because Numeri's adventuring party is from another world (minus Kazuma who's from Japan), Group A also contains other characters from that world (of which there aren't that many because I haven't thought that far ahead), including ones who don't even know who Numeri is.
Group A also contains some characters who will end up getting reincarnated into that world sometime (one of those characters is named Bianca, that will be relevant at the very end).
Ignoring the other world for now, Group A also contains characters who don't go to the school that Rose does, but do know characters who do.
Thus, Group A contains Aki (younger half-sister of Natsu, Fuyu, and Haru), Misca (Rose's girlfriend), and Sapphire (adoptive sister of one of the teachers).
Now for the fun part, and by "fun part" I mean the part where the whole concept starts to break down.
Let's introduce Group B, which I will define as "the group that contains Alice".
Any characters that Alice knows personally are also in Group B, this includes his siblings (Clair and Parker), his neighbor (Irene), and his friends from another dimension (Trace and Soriel).
(just a quick side-note, I'm not fully set on the name "Parker" for Alice's brother due to knowing him by a different (albeit stupider) name since Flipnote Hatena was a thing, not that he appeared in anything I made on there.)
Group B also contains characters that Trace and Soriel know, including Trace's in-universe master (Blake), another pokémon who lives with Trace and Soriel (Sparky), some assorted characters from the Mystery Dungeon World (Beatrice, Wren, Sharp, etc.), and one other character who I don't have a name for yet.
All this is a setup to say that Trace, Blake, and this other guy (characters in Group B) are online friends with Sapphire (a character in Group A).
So yes, connections between groups can exist, however Sapphire is basically the only connection between groups A and B.
The reason Numeri's world doesn't get its own group is because there are too many connections between it and the world Rose lives in.
Numeri's adventuring party consists of five people.
Natsu and Akai are also relevant to both worlds.
Trace doesn't get to be in Group A (despite being a dimensional traveler) because he has never been to the world Numeri came from (and he can't get there since he can only go to dimensions he's been to before).
To end this rambling post, let's do a little bit of a Ryu-Number-styled connection between two characters who have nothing to do with one another, those being Irene (in Group A) and Bianca (in Group B).
Irene knows Alice, who knows Trace, who knows Sapphire, who knows Dawn, who attends the same school as Azalea, who has a brother who will meet Bianca once the timeline progresses.
(Trace and Dawn also know each other, just not well, and they don't know each other's real names.)
(there's also Group C somewhere, but it's entirely self-contained and thus not as interesting.)

Both of those about pages are done now, source is these two posts.
That is all.
Just made an about page https://vailimia.tumblr.com/about so I could make my blog description more concise without losing too much information.
I'll probably end up doing that with @vailireblogs and @traceemerald at some point.

I've been playing Minecraft: Bedrock Edition recently (mostly so it's easier to invite people I know irl onto my world), and I only just recently realized that charcoal isn't the best way to convert logs into furnace fuel (due to a glitch, wooden slabs are more efficient).
I think I have around two double chests of charcoal.

I decided to make a hugging chart with some of my OCs, though I only ended up filling half of the spaces.
Tumblr media
I don't think anyone will be able to help me fill the rest of this, since I'm the only one who knows my OCs well enough (and even I don't know everything about them).
(I wonder if this will end up being the start of a series of posts where I sort/rank my OCs based on completely arbitrary measures.)
More details (and a blank version of the chart) will be under the keep reading button.
Tumblr media
(Feel free to use the blank chart for whatever, it only took me 5-10 minutes to make.)
In the (semi) filled version of the chart, asterisks mean "I have a character in mind for this slot, but haven't made them in Koikatsu yet", and the question mark means "most of my OCs would probably fit here but I can't decide which one to put here".
I should probably also list the names of the characters that do appear (listed from left to right).
Top row has ___, Alice, and Melody.
Middle row has ___, ___, and Trace.
Bottom row has Misca, ___, and Fuyu.
(Also, just a quick clarification, Trace is not trans despite the color palette of his outfit. It's been a while since I made Trace's outfit, so I forget if the color palette is intentionally referencing the trans flag, I'll probably change it later to avoid confusion.)
(Another clarification, I'm aware that Melody's face looks slightly weird. I'm not entirely sure what's causing that, but I think I might need to lower her eyebrows a little bit.)
(Same thing with Fuyu (to a lesser extent), though with him I think I need to make his eyebrows darker because I just matched them to his hair color which is really bright, thus making his eyebrows not the most visible.)
(Another other clarification, I was originally going to use 80% value for the text colors, but I darkened them to 50% value solely to make the text easier to read on a white background, there is no deeper meaning behind this.)

I'm just going to casually make a few drastic changes to the backstory of one of my OCs because I've decided that I'm not happy with the old backstory.
Luckily, the only place I've shown anything related to the old backstory is in a Tumblr rambling post.
This is also a rambling post, click keep reading to keep reading.
Just to recap, I have an elf girl OC named Azalea, who canonically used to be an elf boy.
I'm going to note down the events in Azalea's old backstory (at least the ones that are relevant to this post) in the order they canonically happened, just for reference (though note that this list of events is no longer accurate).
Azalea (male at the time) gets a crush on a lesbian, asks to date her, and gets rejected
Azalea goes to a secret underground library to look for a way to win her heart
Eventually, Azalea summons a demon to transform him into a woman (while keeping his penis because he doesn't want to lose it)
After the demon returns to the underworld, Azalea realizes that what he (now she) just did would probably make her an outcast if anyone finds out
Azalea leaves her home and becomes a traveler
The reason I don't like this backstory is mainly because of the implication that Azalea became a woman solely to date a lesbian, and not out of an actual desire to be a woman.
Now I'm going to note down the same thing as above, but for Azalea's new backstory (which is accurate as of writing this, but is still subject to change)
Azalea (male at the time) thinks he has a crush on a lesbian (due to mistaking gender envy for love), but doesn't act on this
Unrelated to the previous event, Azalea leaves his home to go soul-searching
During this time, Azalea realizes that what he felt earlier was gender envy
After thinking about it some more, Azalea learns that he would much rather be a woman
Eventually, Azalea summons a demon to transform him into a woman (also transforming him into a hermaphrodite because the demon wants to bring more of those into the world)
After the demon returns to the underworld, Azalea realizes that what he (now she) just did would probably make her an outcast if anyone finds out
Azalea becomes a traveler and never returns to her home
After Azalea becomes a traveler, the two backstories essentially converge and the events afterwards are largely the same.
I think it's also worth mentioning that during this part of Azalea's backstory, she's basically the elven equivalent of a 17-19 year old human and doesn't quite have everything figured out yet.
Another thing worth mentioning is that Azalea didn't get her current name until after this section of her backstory was over (elf names are gender-neutral in the world Azalea's from, so the reason for the new name was to avoid connections to her past self)
I'd explain the next part of Azalea's backstory, but since that involves her meeting the rest of her traveling group I'd also end up explaining Numeri's backstory (since she's part of the group), then Akai's backstory (Numeri's girldad), then how Akai's backstory led to Natsu (Akai's daughter) opening a dimensional rift and bringing Azalea's traveling group to Japan.
This post has been sitting in my drafts for longer than a rambling post normally would for a few reasons.
I'm going into detail about one of my OCs' backstories
I'm showing a potentially problematic character backstory (the old one that's no longer canon)
The backstory shown in this post includes gender envy, which is something I don't have any personal experience with
I don't even know if I worded everything correctly (the reason I worded it the way I did is because in a previous rambling post I said that I wanted to avoid calling any of my OCs trans apart from the two I was sure the term would fit, Azalea still had her old backstory at the time)

I heard somewhere that it's good to draw your Minecraft character, but since I can't draw I made my Minecraft character in Koikatsu instead.
(I also posted this to Pixiv https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/114837340)

Just in case you don't want to go to Pixiv to read the absurdly long description, I took a screenshot of the entire thing.

I was going to make a post about a headcanon people might come up with if I was part of a MCYT SMP (even though I'll probably never be popular enough to join one), but because that headcanon involves my Minecraft character doing something that I definitely don't want to do in real life due to potentially being harmful to myself and others, I've decided to cut the post down to just the part where I get to show off my Minecraft player model and talk about the mod I used to make it.
This turned into a rambling post, click keep reading to keep reading.
Tumblr media
This player model is possible thank to a mod called Customizable Player Models (by tom5454, mod is available at https://modrinth.com/plugin/custom-player-models), which lets you add things to your player model (or remove things from it), though it's probably not the easiest mod to jump straight into.
One of my favorite parts about the mod is that it's completely client-side and even lets you use your custom player model on vanilla servers (though it will only be visible to other people who have the mod).
My Minecraft skin (and the additional parts added through CPM) is based on one of my OCs who I don't think I've ever actually spoken of on Tumblr, so I'm going to list the information I've revealed about her on Pixiv by being lazy and screencapping part of the description of the one work she appears in.
Tumblr media
I know I'm calling Blake a futa in that screencap, but I'd actually like to stop using that term outside of Pixiv tags.
From now on, I'll try using the term "hermaphrodite" instead of "futanari", at least outside of tagging my Pixiv works (since I tag those in Japanese).
Since this has basically turned into a rambling post at this point (probably closer to one of my Pixiv descriptions, since it's focused on a single character), why not talk about some of Blake's abilities?
If you've seen the Pixiv work that Blake appears in (which you probably haven't), you may notice that she doesn't have antennae over there, this is because she's a shapeshifter who happened to be in her default human form at the time.
Compared to the other two shapeshifting OCs I've mentioned on Tumblr (Haru and Misca), Blake's abilities are severely limited.
Haru and Misca can basically take any shape they want, with as many (or as few) parts as they want.
Blake is limited to "taking on arthropod characteristics", which is only limited by whatever Blake can convince herself is an "arthropod characteristic".
(For reference, arthropods include insects, arachnids (like spiders and scorpions), and crustaceans (like crabs and lobsters).)
Blake can grow bee wings, butterfly wings, or dragonfly wings, but can't grow bird wings or bat wings.
Blake can grow extra limbs, as long as there's an arthropod that naturally has that many limbs (she could theoretically have 100 or 1,000 limbs, but not any numbers in between), other restrictions may also apply.
Blake can also mix-and-match characteristics from different arthropods, like having butterfly wings, crab claws, and a scorpion tail all at the same time.
Hopefully Blake doesn't sound too much like a Mary Sue, the main reason I'm worried about that is because she's basically a representative (not a representation) of my online persona who evolved into her own character, then again I feel like a lot of my OCs are overpowered ability-wise.

Me: Make a variable new_creature and set it to a duplicate of CREATURE_DATA_DEFAULT.
Godot: Okay.
Me: Now, what is new_creature.parameters[STAT.MAX_HEALTH_POINTS] set to?
Godot: It is set to -1.
Me: Good, that will raise an error later on to make sure I override it with something else.
Me: Now set the parameter to 100.
Godot: Okay.
Me: What is the parameter set to?
Godot: It is set to -1.
Me: Didn't you just set it to 100 though?
Godot: new_creature.parameters is in read only mode and cannot be modified.
Me: THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU RAISE AN ERROR WHEN I TRIED TO MODIFY IT!?

I recently read through Wikipedia's list of logical fallacies, and one I'd like to point out is the "intentionality fallacy", as I've realized that it applies to my OCs (more accurately, it applies to content I've made that includes my OCs).
This is a rambling post by the way, you know the drill (assuming you've read my previous rambling posts, which you probably haven't).
For reference, Wikipedia says that the intentionality fallacy is "the insistence that the ultimate meaning of an expression must be consistent with the intention of the person from whom the communication originated (e.g. a work of fiction that is widely received as a blatant allegory must necessarily not be regarded as such if the author intended it not to be so)."
As for how this applies to my OCs, I'd say a more locally-relevant (is that the right term?) definition would be "insisting that the information in my Tumblr rambling posts (and to a lesser extent, the descriptions of my Pixiv works) holds true within my Pixiv works, despite not being clear entirely within the works themselves".
As an example, I can say that Whitney and Numeri are bi all I want on Tumblr, but that doesn't change the fact that (as of writing this) the two of them have only been shown to be attracted to one gender in my Pixiv works (thus making the fact that they're both bi unclear within the works themselves).
As another example, Rose is a futanari (or hermaphrodite if you prefer that term), however I don't think any camera angles in my Pixiv works actually show her vagina (thus, it's not entirely clear if she has one at all).
Using only information available within my Pixiv works, you could make the argument that Rose is trans, and I don't think there's any evidence to refute that argument (apart from things that would run into the intentionality fallacy).
Rose being trans was never my intention though, but simply saying "this character is cis because I (the creator of the character) said so" is an example of the intentionality fallacy and could probably be refuted for being a fallacious argument.
I think I could prove that Rose is cis pretty easily by just making a character info page for her and posting that to Pixiv, but the problem with that is that I don't have any experience making character info pages.
Maybe I should make some prototype character info pages or something, I already have information written down in text documents, and I think it would be a good opportunity to show what my OCs look like on Tumblr.
Another thing that can't currently be proven without running into the intentionality fallacy is the species of some of my OCs.
A lot of my OCs aren't human, but a lot of them look indistinguishable from humans for one reason or another.
Based solely on my Pixiv works, you can't tell that Rose and Elion are demons (disguise magic), you can't tell that Melody is a gorgon (magic necklace), you can't tell that Alice is a human (he has wings), you might not be able to tell that Malaise is a reaper (not sure if owning a scythe is enough to be certain).
It's getting late though, so I should probably stop writing and go to bed.
Prototype character info pages will come sometime hopefully soon, but don't count on it.

I've queued everything up over there and it turns out that at 1 post/day the queue will finish on February 2nd of next year, so I'm going to increase the speed to 3 posts/day until the queue runs out.
I've recently realized that I should be reblogging things that I like, the reason I haven't is because the stuff I'd want to reblog doesn't fit in with the other stuff on my main blog.
To solve this, I have created a sideblog @vailireblogs, which is basically a place for me to reblog stuff without worrying about how well it fits in with the random thoughts I post over here.
To start with, I'm going to queue up reblogs of all the posts I've left a like on, so one of those will be posted every day until the queue runs out.
I know my likes are public, but I'm pretty sure nobody looks at them, and likes are effectively just bookmarks on Tumblr.
@vailireblogs also links back to my main blog in case someone finds that first.

Reblogging just to say that I've done it, and now my Tumblr username is updated.
Also, the link on my alt account still leads to my main blog for some reason, even though there's a different blog called "bis-bing" now (sideblog of mine that just links back to my main blog).
I'm thinking of changing my Tumblr username from "bis-bing" to "Vailimia" so it matches the name I'm using in other online spaces.
For details on why I didn't do this sooner, click keep reading.
If you want a tl:dr, it's "I have an alt account I'm no longer using that links back here in case anyone wants the name".
So, I have an OC named Alice (who's a boy, but that's not relevant apart from pronouns).
I used to roleplay as him on an alt account (not a sideblog) a few years ago, but honestly I didn't really know what I was doing back then so some of the stuff he posted was more relevant to me than him (though we do share some interests).
After running the alt account off and on for around two years, I lost interest and decided to stop, but left the account around until Tumblr deletes for inactivity in case I wanted to go back.
In my final post there, I linked back to my main account (the one I'm using right now) so that anyone who wants to use the name has someone to contact who can free up the name.
The thing is, after almost three years of me not logging into my alt, it's still around (albeit inactive) and I can't give the name to a sideblog (which I assume means that nobody else can use the name either).
I haven't changed the name of my main blog to "Vailimia" because I'm not sure what would happen to the link on my alt.
In more recent times I've realized that I can just update my main blog's name and then use the name "bis-bing" for a sideblog that would exist solely to make sure the link on my alt still points back to me.
The reason I haven't done all this yet is because I thought it would be best to make a post about it first so that the less than twenty people who follow me on here still know who I am afterwards.
As for how my post content will change after this, it won't.
