I love how King and Purple’s faces basically represent who they are at the start and end of their arcs;

The crown and King’s angry expression can reflect how he was during his debut; an angry, impatient and rugged king. And with Purple, while he was never a ‘crybaby’, I think if more reflects the underlying pain he was experiencing throughout his arc + his mental state.

I believe the new faces the two were given reflect where they are now at the end of their arcs; both being much happier and livelier. Especially with how in King’s case, not only is he happier but he tosses the crown aside. I know people are upset that Sec takes away King’s facial hair (me too y’all lmao) but I think it’s meant to imply that after the King Arc, he cleaned himself up since the King Arc was a dark period of his life.

It’s a way of showcasing that he’s healing and in a better, happier mental state.

With Purple he’s not only happy, but he’s much more lively and expressive than before, at least to me? Like he’s much more comfortable around the gang and isn’t afraid to just let loose and have fun. Hes so much happier now! They both are!

I can die happy now, I've missed King so much

Purple looked so happy to be there, I'm crying he has friends now!

I watched it at least three times just to make sure I caught all of the expressions and details, it was so fun to watch! (Even if it was really weird to see faces on the sticks– it still looks a bit wrong to me, oh well)

I also appreciate the implication that Orange is not an all-powerful artist, and messes up sometimes

(Ooh, an Actual Short– or a whole episode, who knows– about Orange getting art block would be cool)

something i like to imagine sometimes is that alan's creations are... him, in a way. tiny little shards of a full person that broke off in creation, giving them life. breathing life into them.

and despite that, they still have individuality. they're their own people, their personalities starting out were just akin to small little facets in alan's mind.

but the little pieces taken from him were so small, that there was no change. Like dipping an empty glass into an ocean. The amount taken isn't enough to really damage the ocean.

this kind of ties into my headcanon of humans being outer eldritch gods compared to sticks, so different and vast compared to them. so distant and far that in a lot of cases, humans don't even realize that sticks are people too. alan's just a special case cause he realized. anyways thank you for listening :3
